@joshuar9938 who cares, it's not cars wrecking the planet. 12 corporations are responsible for 73% of the world's pollution. Emissions from cars is a joke
The stupidest thing he said was how diesel engines in trucks are "slow, thats why they go 10mph slower in the right lane". Dude, most trucks on the road are governed at 65mph by their respective companies that operate those rigs(for various reasons, including fuel costs, and insurance premiums). 18 wheelers arnt built for acceleration, but designed to haul massive weight across long distances, at highway speeds. Diesel engines are NOT slow at highway speeds, many 18 wheelers have the ability to go 95mph+( if not goverend by whatever company owns them)
Diesel engines in trucks are NOT slow, they are ginormous behemoths with huge turbos. Semi trucks are either governed or if they aren't they can't exceed the truck speed limit (usually 65mph here in IL) a CDL is not easy to get, most truckers wouldn't risk speeding and losing their CDL. I know because my dad has driven semis since the 90s.
Very? No. They drive very similarly from a distance. I could sit here and tell you all the minor differences like the redline, power band, and wheel base but really, they drive pretty much the same. Now the differences between this and a 2018 X2 (Review coming soon) those are very different!
@bradtourt I have 2012 35d and I know for fact that I have twin turbo because I was replacing turbos. New models I heard some have twin and some single turbo. I'm talking about north America BMW s I don't know about Europe
The 35d is the best version of the X5. All the room and luxury, a smooth ride, and fuel economy like a 3 Series. It's very good.
I have a 2015 35d and I LOVE HER! POWER POWER POWER😁👌🏾
You forgot the technical advantage of a diesel, which is 413lbt of torque and MPG which is 23 city and 29 highway.
They are as dirty as TDI
@@joshuar9938 so what?

Bro amazing review
I’m looking into getting a used one of these.
Would you say they are reliable long term vehicles ?
With regular maintenance, how many miles do these turbos last vices a gas engine?
Need to turn traction control off for proper launch
watching the video im laughing in German when you bash about the best and most efficiant engine mankind was able to develop and build up to date...
Does this drive very different than the BMW X3?

@@ShootingCars thanks for the reply!
Single variable geometry turbo.
The american 35d's are the european 30d's with a single turbo. Like the 328d, that's the 320d in europe.
literally says twin turbo on them 😂
@@p__jay and you're wrong, it says twin power turbo, meaning it has a twin scroll turbocharger
@@b1tter606 you're right sorry! but its still a 3.0l inline 6 isnt it?
@@p__jay yes it is, and it's a great engine. I own my second one and it has almost 180.000 miles on the clock tuned to over 400hp
Well you didn’t drive the M50d :)))
Best review!
Single turbo, not twin
@Phil nope, not north america model.
@Phil single turbo vnt
Why it says on engine cover twin turbo some x5 have single some not
@@robertkaniski7925 35d is single, 40d is compound, m50d is triple. Engine cover lies.

Not sure he's old enough to remember smokie, dirty, clingy, loud, soot covered diesel vehicles!
Not a twin turbo. It's a twin scroll turbo
Im your biggest fan
