    • @matthisalbert
      @matthisalbert Год назад +6

Probably because they are highway driver vehicles.
Doesn’t damage the engine and the gearbox nearly as much as city driving. And also less time is spent in the vehicle as it’s going faster, so it gets worn less in the interior!
Also people don’t want high mileage cars so they are much cheaper

@@matthisalbert it's very unusual to get a car to that kind of high mileage if you're just doing city driving in such few years. Unless it's constant on the road without break which is unnatural

I’ve never had a problem with high mileage cars as long as there’s a decent service history.
I bought a sept 14 ,Volvo v60 d4 r-design at exactly 4 years old with 138000miles on it, for £7000, spent £400 getting new timing chain and service, and it’s now done 160000miles and probably deprecated less than £1000 a year.

Very interesting clip. I very recently regrettably sold my 57 reg TDCI 2.0 Ford Mondeo which had 213,000 miles on the clock and drove like a new car and I never for once had any issues with it, apart from the regular servicing, and I had changed the timing belt. I only sold my beloved Mondeo because it would not pass the ULEZ requirement due to start in October this year in many parts of London. I have travelled the length and breath of the UK with my Mondeo and never one day did l have to call the RAC to rescue me. What a lot of people don't realise is that as long as one upon buying a high mileage car, immediately gives the car a good service (oil filter, air filter & plugs in the case of petrol cars) most importantly changing the timing belt/chain, and subsequent regular servicing, the engine will go on forever. Surprisingly quite a number of people don't know a lot about cars and only judge a car's reliability on it's reg or mileage. I think you should also do a video on "Should l buy a newer or older reg car"?? A lot of people judge a cars reliability on the reg of the car. I travel a lot and I have seen countless of high reg cars ie 67,68,or 69 cars break down and are on the hard shoulder. This is because people who drive these cars think because the car is new, nothing will go wrong.

Quick question: I have an Audi s3 and it’s been off the road for around 3 months.. I start her up every few days.. thinking about it I’m sure you wouldn’t start all of your cars every few days, how often should I start her and let her ticover? And then for how long..
    Cheers

I think it depends on how well the owner has looked after the car e.g regular service, wear and tear items changed over, well valeted and not treating it like a rally car 😉

So true. There's a lot of M50d's on the road which have been used for the school run and to make the wife look important. 🤣😂
In 5/6 years they'll have done low miles but been poorly serviced.
People may think they're getting a great car but will probably get problems due to car not being uses appropriately.

If a car is serviced regularly and filled up with decent fuel it will really astonish people. I was looking on one auction site and I saw a Mercedes sprinter with 1.2 million miles, yh it might've had a rebuild but still,

I always buy high mileage BM's, however I don't usually go above 80k on the clock.
But I'm looking for a second hand F15 X5 M50D fully loaded - adaptive cruise/headlights, TV, reverse cam, all seats heated etc. Given my budget, I think I'll have to be looking at mileage in-excess 120K.
Thanks for the great video. 👍🏾

So at 120,000 miles I should be good?

thats has to of been punting motorways to do that milage and probs has similar wear to a 100000k of similar vintage. You dont know exactly but looking at it you get that feel. Also if your high milers got bills for dampers/bushes etc you onto a winner as you would have to pay for that on a car that is nearly there.

Very good video and spot on advice. A new car is a waste of money IMHO 💰

Great video really surprised it's valued at that 16+k as you sed earlier people looking for cars prefer lower and 16k is a lot to pay and possibly in counter issues with it.then again it's away of everyday peps getting in that type and spec of car obviously you binca would previde a good after care service. wereas you could get a very good newish let's say audi beema ..I surpose it's wot pics your car, your heart or image, reliability. Anyway you explain it better as I'm now watching more of the video. . Y u should watch all a video b4 comments. 😉👍.

I’d personally prefer a high mileage car with stacks of receipts and full service history then a 70-80k with nothing. Good friend of mine had a old taxi Vauxhall vectra with 300k plus on it ran sweet as a nut never had issues in the years he owned it.

Hey I am just like you bought a high mile high spec car but it was worth it! I serviced it done few bits and its spot on even wear and tear was not bad so happy price was really good and i did not have any problems with it as long as everything is done on time !
