"Are they scamming me?" "Nah, no. it's... it's the logo. It's the brand." I get the feeling his company makes these belts, or belts for another premium brand, and doesn't want to lose a high volume customer.
He just understands the business he’s in, that’s all. Like he said at the beginning “I can’t make that” because the value of the belt is not in the material its in the brand. That is the nature of the fashion industry.
LV doesnt even use leather for all of their goods. They use coated fucking canvas, even on half of their belts. I'm a leathercrafter, and even at consumer pricing, I can simply take 15 minutes of research to find the exact type of hide used for a product and purchase it to make a nearly identical product down to the exact thread, velodon and edge paint. I can make an Hermès watch strap, same hypoallergenic Zermatt leather lining, for 1% of the price. Thats not to say my craft is easy, because it does require an eye for it and wealth of skill and knowledge to get such precision in your work, but material-wise, its a rip off. You're paying for craftsmanship and knowledge, and if youre doing that, stay away from status symbols and go to an actual leather company for a buy it for life product. That LV belt will look like shit in a year of regular use.
It’s like how songwriters give their songs to established and popular artists and how most of the parts of a Lamborghini are found on a Honda Civic branding is everything
I still remember when I was in Bangladesh there used to be a sale done in foreign owned country clubs. These sales usually bring in sacks and sacks of garments from the factories that makes brands like H&M, Uniqlo, Cheap Mondays, Levi's, Marks and Spencer, etc. They were selling "damaged" goods that are not fit to be sold in the retail stores. Perfectly fine items with very very small problems like wrong type of zipper heads, or the tag is put on backwards, or the waist ties were of the wrong color. They were selling these items at 2-3 USD cents a piece. I bought like 10 trainers, 10 jeans, 5 jackets, 20-30 sweaters, hoodies, and t-shirts. I resell them to my friends for 5-10 dollars each. Opened my eyes at how big of a scam fast fashion is.
That’s why you must make a personal decision to either go quality or status. Or find the middle ground. It only takes a little research, and nowadays research is so easy. We used to have to go to the library.

He made an exact replica in his head in 6 seconds just to figure out costs 😂😂 you know he’s a legend at what he does
Edit: y’all are so weird lmao who are you even mad at 😂
Dude, it's a strip of leather with a pre-made buckle... All of the cost is in the logo print which couldn't cost more than a quarter... Proof that pride and ego run the world.
Fr my big buckle cost more then the cost of the actual leather

Bro I'm down in Texas and this is the reason our gov't is all f up.
I'm just glad to see this kid talking about it. Even though a lot of us old timers have known then forever, the current generation is more likely to listen to each other than us.
@@PopsculptureTrust me they wont listen to their own generation either. They want to believe people will think better of them if they go into debt for a t shirt and belt. When in reality no one cares. But everyone acts like they care bc they want others to care about them so it's an endless cycle of validation between grown men.

@@everadeptfuck capitalism. And fick the two party system. If we focused on taxing the rich and taking away special interests and stock investments for politicians, and unionization, we could turn this country into its post-ww2 glory. This is what the apple effect looks like. People dont care that there are better options or that they are overcharged for outdated tech. its the fact that they can say they have an iphone, blue text bubbles and a cracked screen. Nothing else matters.
Even though I have two iPhones but you got me laughing about the “blue text bubbles and cracked screen”🤣🤣 I plan on buying an Samsung so I can actually jailbreak with ease and much more
Im a woodworker and use a couple lasers and always have people asking if i have a glow forge. I always tell them No, glow forge is the iPhone of lasers, people buy them because people think they are the best but cant actually tell you why they are the best. I have money and don't think for myself so I bought an iPhone.
no crack screens ever but yes iphone. even though android is better.
Outdated tech in iPhones, lol
@@nyasinskiy yeah outdated tech. Apple is infamous for waiting for other companies to introduce features. Then apple waits years to implement it into their devices. Tech upgrades fast and if you’re putting a two year old feature in a new phone that’s basically putting outdated tech in a device. There’s a reason why LV owner is in top 5 richest persons list. There’s a tremendous markup in fashion industry.
Exactly, them light up sketchers are just as good as them Js.
And it's ironic because people will swear that LV's belt has "superior quality". Therefore, justifying the purchase. Lol.
Maybe it’s just for belts in particular. If you own designer you know it’s way better than the clothes at Walmart.
Lv leather is not fake leather like most knockoffs or cheap belts you buy. Does that make the price justified? Hell no lol
As someone who wears designer belts. They fucking suck. Just as much as my 20 dollar guess belt from Ross. The designer ones fall apart too. If not faster.
@@johnboy4955LV isn’t even top grain leather , they use synthetic leather which is far cheaper but still lasts longer. Real leather you have to keep clean and maintain like saddles and boots for it to last.
@@Minxviral1bruh… almost anything is better than walmart.
What people are saying is that those $1000 shoes that people buy for “quality” are actually the same quality as some shoes that cost $150. At the end of the day people buy LV and GUCCI to flex and that’s it.
That gum is on the ride of its life
I once bought boots and leather belt from craftsmen who made them from abroad, I bought from this craftsman because of recommendations on RUclips. I thought I was being scammed because the item never arrived and the item was quite cheap. And apparently the goods arrived 10 months later, but the goods were really good and satisfying, even though they took a long time to make.
Wow that’s some profound stuff man. He really thought he said something new right there
If the customer is happy that’s all that matters
Im sure the Vietnamese kids in the factory will agree
the customer is happy because he constructs his ego based on material possessions and brand exclusivity. but I can't argue with you if that's your definition of true happiness, do what you want
As long whatever piece of clothes can last long and not get ruined after 2 outfits then that's all that really matters
Materialists have the biggest egos
The only shirts I would mostly buy is those blank t-shirts due to how soft and good they look

Genius...you discovered this...on this day
He just discovered what branding and marketing are.
This has nothing to do with marketing.
@@Khi-ko6mmyea it does.
Marketing does including branding and convinving people that your products are wortb their price (regardless of its actual value),
@@NoFlu Yup it's all about perception. Nowadays getting a high quality product to the consumer is easy since quality materials are available to anyone wanting to manufacture. Now you just have to convince the consumer of that and give them a reason to actually care. Branding is for sure my favorite part of it all though
Wow thanks they teach this literally in highschool
For the educated folks..when you buy designer, luxury, “premium” brands..you’re paying for the marketing of those products..the celebrities they endorse the product, the sponsors, the promotions, that is where the costs come from not the ingredients or quality
Also it's 9.50 because you are ordering in BULK from the factory and getting thousands.
If you just go to a factory and ask for 3 belts they will say they can't. If you beg and say you will pay the guy will shrug do some quick math on setting up the machines and ask for $200 bucks each.
They are 9.50 because you are buying 5000 of them
You mean for the uneducated? Because educated folk already understand such simple concepts

Most of the so called LV Monogram designs are plastic covered cotton canvas. It’s up to the consumer who wants to pay the price. Appreciate that you can school some of the consumers out there, but hopefully you can do more exposing as to why brands like these mark their products so ridiculously high.
Thanks for this. I didn’t know.
it's like paying a couple hundred dollars for a 20$ bottle in a club

"Nah, no. it's... it's the logo. It's the brand."
I get the feeling his company makes these belts, or belts for another premium brand, and doesn't want to lose a high volume customer.
He just understands the business he’s in, that’s all. Like he said at the beginning “I can’t make that” because the value of the belt is not in the material its in the brand. That is the nature of the fashion industry.
i am glad you show the kids the truth behind these luxury brands. and i hope that someday scamming gullible people will be illegal
Ok. Make me a belt.😅😅😅

Bought me a real leather belt from Mexico and still have it to this day. Been using it for over 6 years and it's still in good condition
mans is like, "Im right here"
That’s why you must make a personal decision to either go quality or status. Or find the middle ground. It only takes a little research, and nowadays research is so easy.
We used to have to go to the library.
