    “If you live long enough everyone will get Alzheimer’s.”
    My mom turned 101 this summer. My sister and I are her primary caregivers. We DRASTICALLY reduced her carbs and she doesn’t repeat her questions anymore. The downside-since she’s stronger she sometimes forgets to use her walker. Then she gets fatigued and we have to retrieve it for her.

      Seems to be a catch-22 doesn’t it. My guess her body has so many years of things that need to be undone, and some are. But if she feels better it seems worth it. Can you try some seated exercises that will make her stronger and will give her more stability? There is a nursing home owner that has his residents on carnivore with great results. Arizona ? Google and maybe contact him and see if he has suggestions. ❤to your Mom and you guys. You are lucky to have her still & bravo that you have started her on this way of eating.

      @@BaebeasDogTrainingPortland Do you give her Himalayan salt or Redmond's. People that age and everyone really needs electrolytes. Salt dissolved in water forms electrolytes which mean they create an electrical charge. Every cell in our body needs the electrical charge including the nervous system, heart and brain etc. You probably are aware of salt and electrolytes but I wasn't and when I stopped salt wasn't well at all and actually fell twice 🙄

    • @BaebeasDogTrainingPortland
      @BaebeasDogTrainingPortland 9 дней назад +1

    • @Debbie-rp1pi
      @Debbie-rp1pi 9 дней назад

      @BaebeasDogTrainingPortland Dr Berg has some great videos on electrolytes. A pinch of pink salt in water every morning is also good for digestion and to ensure regular bowel movements. It was a known remedy in the 1800s. The chloride in sodium chloride forms hydrochloric acid which we need for stomach acid. Dr James DiNicolantonio wrote a great book called The Salt Fix and has some good videos on RUclips.

    Dr Chaffee so many doctors saying cholesterol causes coronary artery disease and heart attacks… they say to not eat saturated fat, not eat any dairy, definitely not eat butter etc… 😢 it’s so difficult to understand. After 1 year carnivore my skin is looking the best it has ever been (i am woman, 42), and my digestion is easier - no more debilitating pains. But my bowel movements have changed considerably (2-3 times per week only!!) and my cholesterol has increased. Also HDL has increased proportionally. My triglycerides dropped to half! the lowest ever!)… It’s still so confusing, it’s really hard to know what references to trust.

    • @pabeader1941
      @pabeader1941 Месяц назад

      Not at all confusing. The average doctor has no idea what they are talking about. They are just parrots. You wouldn't ask a parrot a serious question and expect an intelligent answer, why would you do that with a Dr? Just think about what we used to eat 10,000 years ago. That's what's good for you. If it wasn't, we wouldn't be here. Anyone who says otherwise is uninformed or trying to sell you something.

      I see this often asked in his lives, HDL is good cholesterol. As for colonary artery heart attacks they take years so you can get that checked and then checked later by a year to see if it's gotten any bigger.
      As for the bowel movements you get much better at processing meat and fat into energy. As a side effect because you process it better there's less waste. I personally go about every 2 days and it's much less then what it used to be on a SAD diet. Skin is one of the best indicators of health you can often tell an unhealthy person based on skin health alone.

    If you are from Northern Europe (Ireland, Scottland, Wales, N Germany, Sweden, Norway, Northern Ukraine etc) OR decentants of these countries you need to make sure you do NOT have the Genetic mutation that causes iron overload called Hemochromatosis (in Europe it's spelled hAemochromatosis) first before eating tons of meat espeically red meat .otherwise you WILL end up with iron overload and will get very sick.
    The symptoms of low iron AND high iron are very similar. This is why a FERRITIN iron test and iron satuation test are needed.
    1 in 5 Irish have ONE haemochromatosis gene (meaning they are carriers & can pass on to their children. and can in rare cases get iron overload) and 1 in 85 Irish have TWO genes which means they will get iron overload issues.
    EVERY Carnivore: Doctor and influencers that pushes carnivore diet (which is the best healing diet) MUST BE EDUCATED on this genetic health issues otherwise they will make many people sick with iron overload.
    If you have this genetic condition you can still eat carnivore/keto diet by eating chicken, pork, fish, shellfish (not raw) and drinking milk, coffee or tea with meals which prevents the absorption of the iron.
    PLEASE look into this otherwise you can become very sick on the carnviore diet.
    There is a Hemochromatosis genetic test. There are lots of organizations that have free info along with vds to educate youself on this genetic condition.

    Have been on the carnivore diet about a month now. Cravings pretty much disappeared, no more late night snacking, energy levels are steady, I don't really get hungry, no desire to eat garbage, and feel stronger in the gym. My only issue is that it seems like the lower belly area is not budging. It's that stubborn area for us men. I don't want to overdue it on cardio and curious to know what others have experienced. I know patience is a virtue as I fine tune this way of eating. Hell, just me cutting carbs and sugar is a major plus lol.

    Do you know if the carnivore diet will help reverse or at least calm down hidradenitis suppurativa? I
    already had a mass the size of two golf balls removed from under my right arm almost a decade ago, but the condition had returned, opened the scar tissue, and is once again inflamed. Steroid injections haven't helped, and the dermatologist said that more surgery is the only 'solution', but the last time I underwent anesthesia, I almost didn't wake up, so I'd rather not undergo any more surgery.

      Don’t give up! Based on what I’ve heard him discuss, adding fat leads to looser stools and lowering fat the opposite. Adjust accordingly. It does seem to work for me. He explains that the same way it takes years for certain diseases to develop, it may take a long while for people to experience full remission. With a consistent proper diet and lifestyle, he says you’ll notice positive health improvements gradually. Best of luck.

    Nav sounds an awful lot like she's experiencing what I'm experiencing. Gas, bloat and excess stools. Meat aversion I don't have; except for specific meats like ribeye. For whatever reason the only thing I enjoy for the moment is ground meat.
    I am remedying this by eating very small meals, and spacing my water away from my meals by an hour.
    If I eat too much in one sitting I will get gas. I also find that if I eat too much for the whole day, I get meat sweats.
    The only reason I'm not fasting is because if I don't eat, I WILL get acid reflux.
    My theory to this is that my body is satisfied. So it is insisting that I eat less, and communicating to me with consequences when I overeat.
    I now eat 3 small meals a day when I'm working. Occasionally my appetite will go up for more, but I always anticipate that each meal will be a small one. I imagine it's very temporary.
