Japanese people also don’t like to stand out or intrude on others, so I can see why it would be useful to resemble a suitcase in many public scenarios. With practice I can see assembly just taking a minute or two. Absolutely worth it for a 12 mile range. If I lived in Japan, lived or worked a bit too far from a train station to walk, and want to be able to carry my vehicle into most public places, I’d definitely consider this.

This one has an all-plastic body and a carrying handle, and also because it’s briefcase shaped it wouldn’t be weird to have this beside your desk at work. Oh, and it has a seat too. Now imagine a conventional electric scooter. Bulky heavy all-metal build that has no seat and is difficult to carry in and out of an office because it has no handle and is heavy. Imagine doing that every day. Unlike a regular scooter, this one is basically a briefcase-sized car. Just assemble, sit, and push to go. I don’t know what your problem is. Want to take a bus instead because it’s raining? Not a problem because it’s just a briefcase. If you know any good scooters that are lighter, more compact, and have a seat, do leave some links.
Having to push to get moving is very clever because electric motors require the most current to start moving and then very little to keep moving. A little push with the legs to start is no big deal and even a bit quirky.

It has two modes……One requires you to be moving for it to engage (push start if you will) and the other mode will start you from a dead stop but will obviously use more battery. Good to have the option.
A lot of buses in Dublin won't allow electric schooters/bikes on board because of their awkward size and bulk. Plus, then everyone would bring them on the bus. There's not enough spaces though. Something like this is likely fine as its like a brief case or a shopping bag size. Great idea
Hey, MKBHD, a little bit of correction: in mode 1 you have to push to start, but in mode 2 you just have to press the accelerator button. You don’t need to push it in Mode 2 to start.

It's a safety feature, so you wouldn't start riding accidentally. Other scooters sometimes have it and allow to turn it on and off.

I wish they had replicated the approach they took with the Motocompo, where it could be stored in the trunk of one of their cars. The idea of an electric Honda that charges the Motocompacto while it's in the trunk sounds fantastic!
Until they make it proprietary so _only_ Honda EVs can charge it.

Planes were only personal vehicles at first. I can't see any reason not to think of them as flying cars. These "flying wagons" came sooner than predicted.
It has two modes……One requires you to be moving for it to engage (push start if you will) and the other mode will start you from a dead stop but will obviously use more battery. Good to have the option.
A lot of buses in Dublin won't allow electric schooters/bikes on board because of their awkward size and bulk. Plus, then everyone would bring them on the bus. There's not enough spaces though. Something like this is likely fine as its like a brief case or a shopping bag size. Great idea

Saw a guy with an Airwheel Carry On a few weeks ago at LAX. Basically this, but the size of a carry on and it fits luggage.
Hey, MKBHD, a little bit of correction: in mode 1 you have to push to start, but in mode 2 you just have to press the accelerator button. You don’t need to push it in Mode 2 to start.
Well that makes it considerably more cool, but that deployment time though...
