The fact that people can go out and just make these contraptions on the spot will never cease to amaze me. Like even if it takes a couple hours, creating something that functions so efficiently but that’s also mostly bespoke is just insane to me. I know that if it’s anything like programming, you’re using other designs (yours or ones you find) and working them into your build, but still, the ability to know what to change and where is just very impressive

Assuming the full world height counts, or 383 blocks, that's uhh... Well over 2 million. I can't find an easy formula for the exact number.

Um ackshually, they're cubes. _[insert nerd emoji]_ To not be a pedant, the area in the thumbnail looks to be 15x15, and most Minecraft terrain is at y=60. That's about 13,500 blocks that aren't air, and a cube has 6 faces so that'll be 81,000 squares. Though you'll have to ignore the 225 of them that are on the surface, because that's not exactly hidden. The math is more complex cause the terrain changes and there's a tree, but that's a decent estimate at that scale of calculation.

I'm not a redstoner, but I love doing programming projects like these. Something that's not exactly practical, but flexes your brain and makes you think about techniques you don't usually use. I once made a script that converts numbers into their spelled names (42 becomes forty-two) up to something crazy like 100 digits, however far the wikipedia page for number names goes. That was a very fun project.
my most recent one was a short (and incredibly inefficient) python floodfill algorithm that lets me cheat at boggle by using a spell checker to find words. I should slap a gui on it
Have you ever considered making a bunch of small, maybe convoluted, hidden areas on the HC server? They could have random items or traps. Like someone randomly decides to rotate an item frame in the shopping district and 10 silenced bee just emerge from the ground. Just wacky shenanigans.
I love this. I'm going to do this on a private survival server I'm on with 5 others to watch them gradually becoming more and more paranoid of there being traps everywhere.

I feel like calibrated skulk sensors would be way better if you could lock them to a _specific_ sound. the fact that there are multiple sounds per power level is a problem. a very, very easy and intuitive solution is for them to remember the last sound they heard, then you could lock it like a repeater. could even keep the power level aspect so you could get it to only listen for certain sounds, so something like player footsteps doesn't make it super annoying to set up

I have always wanted to make redstone contraptions but haven't known where to start. You have some good redstone tutorials, but most of them are quite dated. As a video series suggestion, I think it could be a good idea to make updated redstone tutorials. I know it would help a lot of redstone noobs like me understand how this magic red dust works.

Hey Mumbo! This is really impressive and entertaining. Once again, one of your video has made me thoroughly chuffed to bits. I have always wanted to make redstone contraptions but haven't known where to start. You have some good redstone tutorials, but most of them are quite dated. As a video series suggestion, I think it could be a good idea to make updated redstone tutorials. I know it would help a lot of redstone noobs like me understand how this magic red dust works.
