Excellent video! Considering I was one of the kickstarter funders, I love seeing how far this game has come and the huge community that has grown around it. One thing that I think a lot of people don't actually know is that the player vending machines don't actually sell to other players, but rather they sell to a incorporeal entity which comes and buys the produce that you put in there. Doing this, you can sell stacks of super corn for 25k dukes instead of the 6-7k dukes you get from the trader. Other items like the steel club sell for closer to 1100 dukes where the trader will usually offer you around 200-300 dukes for the same item. Especially early game, it is an excellent way to boost your dukes and build up much more money to be able to get weapons from the trader easily. It ties in nicely with your tips on getting the super corn from the NDC checkpoint too. It's always my go to now when I start a fresh save. Get supercorn, spec into living off the land, harvest supercorn, sell for big profits. (Edit for clarity) This applies only to the rented vending machines inside of trader compounds. It costs 2500 dukes for the rental but it will make you thousands extra with the right products in the first sale.
OK! I've seen some people testing those out but it didn't seem like the machines did much. This is great info. It would be great to use these in my latest stream playthrough...too bad I removed all traders from the map 😢
Gas pumps are the easiest source, roads leading out of towns may sometimes have that huge gas station with like 16 pumps and dozens of cars. Transformer boxes on power lines are second easiest, have 300hp and can be jumped to reach with a wrench. Street lights require nerdpoling so it's a bit of a hassle, and vending machines have 1000hp, so you'll be at them for a while. And rarely, some PoIs have chandeliers that can be taken apart for steel as well as the green munition containers.
Biggest ladder tip: always place at least 1 plate under ladders. This prevents you from being pinned against the wall where you won't be able to jump onto the ladder.
For Tip 7 at 1:40, you actually CAN place a land claim block right up against a trader (well, their anti-block barrier, not their actual walls). The land claim deadzone has to be set to 'No' though in the world settings under multiplayer (its default is 30). That affects how close your LCBs can be to other player's land claims AND traders. I know because I made the same mistake and thought I couldn't pull up stuff either. Went into the settings, changed them, and viola!
This is another tip i found. So before you start the quest by interating ! Mark you might want to check if theres any valuable loots from sources around you briefly such as books or ammos, or you can explore the whole poi because once you start the quest, it will reset the entire poi. Which means that if you have placed unclaimed units such as crates that have items in them inside the area, they would just disappear.
Yea, that's a new one to me too. It's also possible that it hasn't be a thing for all versions of the game. I gotta record some A21 gameplay this week. I'll test it there.
If the game isn't running, I've heard it still does...which would mean it's simply a time calculations. But can someone confirm this? I'm on mobile right now
If you go into multiplayer settings and set the land claim encroaching setting to no encroaching (or the lowest value available) you can have your land claim area partially overlap the trader. You can cover roughly 90% of trader poi's like this
10:21 so to add to this it doesn't just effect workstations it also still allows crops to grow but dew collectors won't collect water, it also doesn't effect anything crafting in your inventory.
Those blue mail boxes in cities can also be axed and you have a chance to get a mechanical part... something even more useful since you need mechanical parts to make the wrench
That was going to be in the first Tips video, but I couldn't get it to work. I don't remember if it was listed in the patch notes, but we've concluded that it has been removed with 1.0.
you can place a sledgehammer turret on the right side of a path the zombies are taking, it will not hit the demo zombies button as the button is located on the left side of it. You can also Wrench filing cabinets for mechanical parts
You can harvest dead animals with a knife's heavy attack, which is faster. Simply start the heavy attack animation while not looking directly at whatever you're trying to harvest, then as the animation begins, adjust quickly towards the animal/bones/etc and you'll use the heavy attack. This takes a bit of practice, and also might be tricky with a controller.
I was aware of this before I made the video, but I was too much of a jabroni to do it right when I tested it so I left it out. Now I know how to do it and it's great.
If you stand on top of a cop car to make zombies hit it, once the zombies do enough damage to break into the cop car, the cop car alarm will not go off.
Starting at 1.0 Vehicles protect from all trap damage. POI barb wire, player barb wire and wood/iron spike traps. Make a field of spike traps and barb wire. Ride bicycle in circle. Or if you surround your base in traps you can use a bicycle to cross with no damage or movement penalty. Even if the spike traps are 2 layers high.

@@LiberPater777yeah he said nerdy goggles and chest. As in chest piece. So goggles for the xp from the mags and chest piece (outfit) for the double chance :)
If you dig a hole deep enough during a buried supply quest, so that when zombies fall in that hole they will dig their way out of it, the circle will shrink every time they dig through the required number of blocks.
That is one of those "in one ear, out the other" things for me. I keep forgetting how to do it, because I generally don't mind it being there. But then there will be rare times I want it gone and I frustratingly figure it out and completely forget how I did it.
If you are on console like me, and you use a cabinet as storage and leave the area for more than the chunk reset time limit, then it's gone and the area/base poi (in my save) will reset and you'll have to clear it out of zombies again but storage boxes stay. And yes, I have a claim block down.
Chunk reset is on by default and can't be shut off on console? With Loot respawn on, it will maintain your items until you remove them all and then it will reset. That's how it should be working. There aren't supposed to be big gameplay differences like that between console and PC - at least that's what the Fun Pimps said.
To anyone who placed something too close to trader and you want to pick it up Go to lobby lower the claimblock range log back in place it down as close to the trader as you can log out increase the range again and tadaa you can pick it up again :D
I tested the double xp tip at 13:31 but did not get double xp. You do get more xp from challenges however with xp boosting items like Nerd helmet and teasure hunter mod
They do move and they don't move...at least for me. When they're standing upright I can't move them. If they're laying on their sides then I can move them. I didn't include it in the video because it takes so much work to move them that it's not worth the effort. They only move a little bit at a time.
Oops! Sorry. I should've mentioned that. Like Rooster said, you click and drag with right-click to split stacks. It works like that in all inventory situations as well.
