- This is an alternative take of “Why Should I Love You”🔥
It looks like it was an outtakes from Sylvia Massy, Prince's sound engineer, and it’s got a different title, but obviously this is “Why Should I Love You?” .
So now we have three versions of Kate and Prince collaboration.
If you’re not a Kate fan, know that the final version is available on the album “The Red Shoes”. I recommend, buy the remastered version of the album from 2018. It sounds divine.
Kate: “We kind of became friends for a while. I didn’t know him very well, but [he was] so full of fun and a really sweet person, as well as really exquisite musicianship. Prince was a really unique artist and was so good at so many different things. When we actually worked it was done at quite a distance.
I wrote the song, and then he worked on that and then we discussed where to take it from there.”
Did he suggest anything to you that you might not have considered otherwise?
“It was more the work he put on top of the track that I had sent him. He changed the original feeling of the song. But then when you collaborate with someone, that is sometimes that can happen, and it's really a matter of whether you want the song to go there or not.
I don't know, it's very difficult to talk about music, you know? It's one of those things that you feel.”

She was incredibly lucky to have worked with prince
or he was lucky to work with her.
And the other way. Two creative geniuses, fortunate to work with each other.
prince not a good collaborator , he genuinely loved her music (well hounds of love) and was likely in awe of her female goddess traits, but much like what he tried with Joni ..didn't really get it and just saw it as a chance to have them singing a Prince song as opposed to a meeting of ideas. Alot of that doesn't work, though i make him right to focus on the verse part , it wasn't his call ...
