To answer Ryu's question... neither one screen puzzle was actually solved the intended way. But the one with the 2 Yoshi's... you were supposed to get on the left side of that launcher that blocks your path, leave the shell on the other side and then grab it with the green Yoshi's tongue to bring it through.

Just wanted to drop a note of appreciation. These were some of the Best levels I've seen; so intricate and well-thought out.
And at the end of all of it, however challenging - you were fair. Master level creator imo.
I find it interesting not only to see ryu solve these levels, but the levels themselves. These were excellent to watch 😋
@@rucksoclown7696 I know, honestly puzzle levels are a nightmare especially because you know virtually anything above 'Normal' grading of difficulty is going to have such a weird and janky set-up involved. Like timing the events with an On/Off switch and aiming a shell into some weird gap lol

I think by "no bs hidden blocks" he meant no hidden blocks that have an item or key that is needed for progression.
What about that key?
The spring was in a hidden block, no?
Both were clearly marked or were found naturally. The only hidden blocks that were not clearly marked were troll blocks that you were bound to hit during normal pathing.
At no point did he have to stop and jump around in random places looking for one secret block, with a required item, in a place that only the creator would look.
I took it as "no blocks that didn't have a purpose". At some point, Ryu used a lot of those hidden blocks as platforms. I think the shelmet was cheese a lot of the time and didn't make every hidden block necessary.
@Matt So what's the purpose of "troll" levels in general then if not to be "horseshit" or to screw "with the player's senses"?
So I guess puzzle levels are also "horseshit" because they require something other than "hold right"?

I can't believe he didn't just walk up to the cannon behind the one-way 🤣, there was literally nothing to lose! I kept telling him (pointlessly, not like he could hear me) it's a troll level, just walk in there and give it a try. But at least I had a good laugh when he finally figured it out lol

I never bought a switch so I could never make you a mario maker 2 level. With that said, I'm proud of this stage and put everything I had into it. It's the ultimate gauntlet. The biggest key coin challenge. Many long chambers. Varying platforming challenges. Only the sweatiest of players can beat it.
If you do play it, I hope you enjoy my final creative input into the mario maker world. The reason I found your channel years ago was because you beat one of my old stages on stream that I thought nobody would ever beat. Then I sent you that awful troll level (Get that garbage outta here) and that lead to a hilarious viewer levels video. I'm fortunate that you've played two of my stages already but this stage is the culmination of everything I've learned. It's the one I'm most proud of.
Thank you for the hours of entertainment you've given me and everyone else here. It's been a great ride and I can't wait to see where it all goes from here.

Thanks for toughing it through that final level. What was different on the first screen to make the keys available?... Every time you come back through the pipe to the first screen using the POW, Thwomps are able to spawn because you have to turn on the blue switch every time you go back through the pipe. The Thwomps make the keys come out of the yellow blocks above the ice blocks. The mystery room you kept passing was the hint.
By no bs hidden blocks I meant that there is no obscure key or item in an invisible block you need to finish the level. Everything you need to finish is clearly marked. No pick a path??? Pick a path to me is where you come to a room with 4 pipes and 4 doors and you have to try them all and only one isn't death.
How much did you pay Ryu to do this?
I think all the comments here show that everyone agrees that "no pick a path" and "no bs blocks" was accurate. Ryu was probably still reeling from the soul crush :)

I swear Ryu sometimes can't see what's happening, but he's still a terrific player
@@christianbianchini423 happens to some of the best puzzle/troll level players. They get fixated on an idea and can’t see other options. With Ryu, it’s hilarious though because he pulls the most outlandish, triple shell jump kaizo skill out of his a$$ to solve something and I’m yelling at the screen “No you just have to do this!”

My only guess is that when he said "no bs hidden blocks", he meant that no required things needed to solve the puzzles would be randomly hidden in invisible blocks. Whereas hidden blocks that just kill you - a staple of poorly made troll levels - were still included. Again, just a guess.
Sometimes I just want to watch puzzle levels and it can be hard to find vids of them so this is super sweet

idk if you have anything planned, but for your 100th episodes of mm2 endless mode and mm1 100 life mode, what if you make them coincide? like, make sure you have episode #99 out for both, and you combine episodes #100 for a mario maker extravaganza!!! you can play a 100 life mode and an endless mode in the same video. (or livestream maybe) something else i'd be curious to see is you reacting to the first episodes of each series, or maybe make a montage of highlights from both games, idk i'm just spitballing ideas here! feel free to take any of them if you like them
