Adonis's 10 year plan that he came up with during his imprisomment was to make a gundam sized robot to destroy the city and shoot a couple really big bullets. Which failed almost instantly. Gave me a good laugh.
I dropped the series at that point. I was thinking "Oh, he's been planning it for a decade. Okay, what's he gonna do?" and he proceeds to charge straight ahead on top of a golem like an idiot, to predictably get his ass handed to him. Bruh, if the best idea you've had after 10 years is to march a giant through the city without even hiding yourself, riding on the thing for everyone to see you so they can beat you up, then you are plain stupid. He could've taken the time to lay low, blend in with society to gather information. What's the government structure like? Where are the centers of power located? What military forces do they have available? How can you counter those forces? Etc, etc. If you've been tied up inside a straitjacket for over a decade, it's impossible to formulate an adequate plan to bring down a whole country, let alone all of mankind. There's simply no way to get the information necessary to make a plan, except a real shitty one like marching a golem down the street. But yeah, he went straight ahead like a moron and got stomped for it. I lost all interest then and there, from how braindead everyone in the series is.
@caramelitoalegre What you described sounds like The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexander Dumas, which is often seen as one of the best revenge stories in all of literature. The basic idea of the plot is that there's this dude who was framed for a crime by a couple people and was sentenced to life imprisonment. He then spent 14 years in one of the worst prisons imaginable, where he polished a bunch of random (but highly useful) skills, after which he escaped. He then spends the following 9 years traveling the world, building up wealth and power, setting up a massive. All of this is done for the pirpose of setting up an elaborate revenge plot against the people who had framed him, who are now some of the richest and powerful people in the country. And then he returns to his home country under a hidden identity to play some 5D chess against his enemies. The full thing is 1300 pages long, but Manga Classics made a pretty good manga version of the book, if you're interested. There's also an anime version called "Gankutsuou" that takes an absolutely ridiculous amount of creative liberty, but still manages to capture the basic idea of the original. Gigguk made a video on it titled "The Best Revenge Story in Anime" if you want to take a quick look at it.
@caramelitoalegre To be honest, the real mistake was saying that he had a plan when, as you said, that was impossible. What he did was somewhat reasonable, considering they basically buried him alive for a decade. Dude was just insane an went like a rabid dog straight to where he assumed the emperor was.
fun fact: there was this really good cartoon called "AXE COP" written by a 5 yr old that was better than most shows airing at the time. so...comparing the show writing to a kids writing is rude to kids lol.
@@YourBestDaydream brothers, one was 5 and the other in their early teens if not 12, I don't remember the rest cause I watched it years ago but I think dad helped to get it pitched
So let me get this straight Witches were good and helped humanity, and then humanity betrayed the witches, dudes master was killed in front of several humans, dude wanted to kill the King, the King got the easy way out, and then some other stuff happens, plot twist witches were evil? Man this whole story and plot is turning my head mushy.
@leaguegamer The evil witch also happened to be the writer's PREVIOUS Series Female Heroine, so basically the Pink Haired Girl's "Prototype" but since he never FINISHED that series. I have no clue WHY it's referenced in the story in general, at best you got like THREE characters from that one. But it's funny trying to start a SEQUEL series when you haven't even finished the FIRST ONE unless he was HOPING to explain what he DIDN'T do in Ruin! Not that I care anymore, I was done around when they got to that SUPER Hospital Colony where they smushed witches in a JUICER just to turn them into a ALWAYS HEALING Mass of flesh SCREAMING to die so they can get UNLIMITED body parts and organs that match ANYONE! I still can't understand WHY the Humans went SUPER evil and ungrateful. I don't think the writer even explained if the First Series Heroine (the evil Empress Witch) was mind controlling the Empire OR the Emperor. But last I checked, she doesn't have COMPLETE control for some reason! Bah this is LITERALLY the first series to CONFUSE THE FUCK OUT OF ME and I've NEVER been so confused by a series before, I"M usually the one chastising those who say "What was this all about" and explaining, but now I wish for someone to PLEASE explain to me the ENDGAME if there is any!
Yep and this is the moment I kind of hate this character ever since as it etched into the memory of my brain. I mean sure, witches are not saints but come on, you can be more pragmatic than whatever the fuck Adonis is doing
@@Yeager_Liftsthe micro chip that was implanted in him had a tracking device on him and it was a bomb. So our stupid mc decides to throw it at the tree. Causing it to blow up and burst into flames. But you know what pisses me off even more about this bad writing, he had an explosive tracking device in him and the humans didn’t think to blow it up when he was killing all those people in the first few episodes
@@landontucker2866 Yeah after reading your comment I just realized how retarded that actually is. There's no way to save this massive plot hole. Even if you try to say that it was "5D" chess it just creates more plot holes. They couldn't have planned for adonis to lead them to the last of the witches. They were unaware there were witches left to begin with, and even if they knew how the hell would adonis know? They'd have to assume that witches would contact him and take him to them. If that's the case, why would you bother trying to kill adonis instead of just stopping him? If you kill him the witches would give up on getting him and you'd never find their location. If you planned to kill him, just blow him up instead of wasting soldiers and lives. The anti-magic device giving off radiation is also stupid. I t would be like using an unshielded nuclear reactor and then claiming that it's too dangerous to use. In the war against the witches they used a bunch of these, and they were even small enough to be mobilized. Even if the scientists have no idea of the mechanisms behind it killing people, clearly they knew the effects decrease with distance or everyone would be extinct. So then why the fuck are the controls for the device literally right next to the device? It could literally have been remotely activated and nobody in that room would have gotten sick or died. The more you think about it, the more literally every facet of the story fails basic scrutiny.

-write edgy anime -the lore is the same shit as "phone bad, book good" except it is about humans and witch -for some reason, they are on fucking moon -OP character Yup fit
Just wondering. Is making a story wherr phone bad book good necesarily bad on itself or there has to be some nuance? Because there is some truth about the misuse of cellphones and the easy access they have on people and how it distorts their reality of things.
If it's one thing I hate, it's when things stop making sense and I'm told to just accept it. I like dark comedy and revenge fantasies. *When it makes sense!*
Episode 2 and everything after. Adonis kills the witches on the moon(why are they on the moon), and the king dies, making the revenge plot pointless. So the story compensates by changing the target to kill all humans in an attempt to correct the plot holes. @hegyuwu
@@thehoodedfang9789 But it's still dumb. He killed every witch, now he wants to kill every human. He doesn't care if someone is from the Redia empire or not, he just wants to kill every body he comes across.
As an aspiring fantasy author, anime like this make me extremely happy, because no matter how much I fumble my story, it will at least be better than this hollow husk of a show.
Okay I’m 13 years old so now I will try to do something out of it ONLY by reading the title of this anime (I tried to watch when it was ongoing because I thought it was normal, but there’s no way I would watch this sh** fully. Yes I didn’t even ended first episode) out of pure boredom. Okay……so, setting….this show has awful AWFUL style, it don’t knows how to use the setting what way what it at least looks normally, anachronism is very interesting idea for setting like writing modern culture into setting of old times, or old culture into setting of modern times. I think for setting we could use formula of Madoka Magica’s backgrounds….it’s very simple constructs which’s technical use is very logical, but you never saw anything like what, cities and houses in here are build weirdly, but working. It’s very easy way to make interesting backgrounds and believable system of the world what will look differently, for example random idea I had: bridges. Whole city is giant bridges system what goes what high up what you could step into a cloud. More high it is more cold it is, and more high it is more expensive t is to afford living, also higher ups live closer to sun and “god” while lower classes what make riches rich are cursed to live only in their shadows. I have several other ideas for it but it’s kinda useless. It’s all stylized after 17th century Europe where was most big witches hunt, since it’s Protestant Christianity would love to make one of characters based off An Boleyn because yeah she’s protestant icon, who was also blamed in witchcraft. Also an idea I had was to make the rebellious group’s village or base designed after Ireland and add some Celtic mythology and/or history, because Ireland literally had like…..4 cases of witchcraft? Because yeah if some random lady was doing Rituals everyone would just say “she probably just wanted to talk to god in cool way” (historical reasons +religious. Tho honestly I might be very very wrong……) So here’s some sort of story for this world I have….god created humans, but he made some humans different, they gave their soul to god before their death and receiving some magic, only way you can waste your magic is for the good (translating from bible language, only against sins) and you can never escape your contract. Tho why would you need to do it? Even if you die you’re guaranteed to go up to heaven (…or no….) like only thing you need to give up is your soul, free will, life as a normal human …(especially because those contracts are usually signed by little kids who are closer to death than already grown ups. Or very old people) you know useless sh** like what! Well, it’s mostly a problem now since witches need to hide their power what makes their lives very very hard and lonely. In the past being chosen by god to be a witch was prestige, it was honor in every family. And you woudnt even dare to say no about this contract. But what happened? No one really knows, official version is what scientists find out what it’s actually the devil to who you sell your soul, and said no to magic because god actually wanted for humans to grow themself without magic. But is it true? No one know! Okay so finally I ended with the setting, let’s go to characters…..mMC was an orphan boy, he got adopted by a witch who tried to teach him true history of witches, and theory of magic, in hope what later he’ll review the old world and raise another witch. Later she got killed by humans, it happens in end of first episode, because the first episode is actually three plot lines leading to his master’s execution. Plot of his line in here is what he tries to memorize a spell with his master but fails and they got exposed to the human soldiers who chase them. It’s not first time, they’re used to it. So master says what it’s alright, they keep going until one soldier chases them and captures master while MC runs away. In the end he returns on the main streets where finds her hanged body. Another plot line is about the soldier, she’s actually not a soldier but aristocrat and very high one would I say. She wants to protect her country and her dream is to be a soldier, tho her parents don’t really let her be one because they’re worried. She wanted to prove them what she’s capable, and it was her only chance guven by them to prove what, first day starts with a girl of age around 10. Turns out she’s an orphan and princess tries to lead her to a “good place” what turns out to be an orphanage, but girl don’t likes perspective of working for hours with no respect or love while being treated as less than a human only because shes unable to protect herself, so she runs away. While following her our princess sees how mc and his master are failng some spell and yells about witch. They run away and then princess turns her plan so she captures the witch and gives her to king.(1/2)
(2/2) The king is very very happy and makes this naive and delusional girl who believes she’s doing it right honorable soldier/knight. And let’s get back at beginning again. A little girl, is a 10 years old orphan who lost her parents long time ago and survived all alone while hiding from government who would make her live at orphanage, her sister was taken in there and she never heard of her again after all….she survived on little works for lower class. She walked into this city, what was bigger than any other she was in, plus the soldiers had very weird and unusual uniform. So she didn’t recognized what the kind girl who gave her bit of food and said what she haves a perfect place for her was actually soldier who lead her into orphanage. She ran away, again, and understood what she’s very tired of this life, and soon a magical contract appears in front of her face, she could sign it and never feel herself so helpless and useless….she wanted to think about it for time. And after some timeskips here we are…at MC’s master’s hanged body. The fMC walks in here, and she’s terrified by it. She runs away, and decides to say no about the contact, but then sees how bunch of criminals are oppressing some little boy, and threaten him with a knife. She decides to step in and understands what magic would solve it, she quickly confirms contract and saves him while partly hiding her face. They all run away, and she thinks what maybe it’s not what bad…..next episode is after a time skip, the new witch in this episode is supposed to find our main character who became all edgy and stuff. He takes her under his wing and tries to do what his master did but he wants revenge. There’s a second plot line with aristocratic girl, they’ll eventually become friends even without knowing true identities of each other, and their lines will be tied together sometimes and sometimes not. MC’s arc will be classic, “your master wouldn’t want you to turn out what way, revenge and rage is bad, better be sure what something what happened to you won’t happen to anyone other” just like the princess who will learn the truth about world and how cruel it is and understand what witches aren’t bad guys, the little witch one is a little more interesting…..she will understand what her body is just….a dead body. She don’t haves a soul anymore by her side, and she needs to do what her whole life? Protect the weak and go against all the sins while not even daring to sin?…..and what will happen if she’ll sin? Why can’t she be like any other teenager her years, why was she forced to survive, why everyone suddenly blames her in everything’s he was forced into!? Why can’t she get angry at this!? Why she’s not allowed to it!?….Did she ever had a normal choice in her life?…. Okay so….I told every of my ideas….I’m tired a bit. Byeee
A lot of Manhua's have also been doing this thing where they justify psychotic behavior by making all the antagonists one sided inhumanly evil characters, and its one thing if like a specific antagonist is like that...but when its an entire city of people, an entire culture or what ever it comes of as cheap and lazy to me.
oh god action manhuas are unreadable for me now. it's all "cultivation pill" this and "murin" that and op all over the place for some reason and boring as all hell
The main problem with Adonis is that there is absolutely no way we as an audience can sympathize with him and on top of that, his character is completely inconsistent. First he will say, that he knows that Chloe would absolutely NOT want him to carry out revenge, yet he does that anyway, which clearly implies that at best he cares more about himself and his revenge or at worst, that he doesn't even care about her. We also get to know, that he was budget Eren with anger issues before he met Chloe, so it's not like it was Chloe's death that made him what he is. He even deliberately targets and murders completely innocent people, justifying it with "sins of their fathers". Yes, the PROTAGONIST is past moral event horizon at episode two. Then he deliberately lures humans to witches moon base and effectively causes witches to be extinct. After he defeated human leader, he literally carved his face off, put it on his own and deceives humans that all is clear, while having a psychotic grin, because edginess is cool. This clearly implies, that Adonis relishes in it, so his excuse that "I do it because I must" doesn't doesn't really apply. Then he tries to manipulate and brainwash Doroka into hating humans by saying, that they destroyed last of the witches after he quite literally caused their extinction. And then author had the audacity to try and make him look like a good and compassionate guy by putting those sex dolls out of their misery. After this Doroka started to fall for this gaslighting by starting to suspect that deep inside Adonis might be a good person and it is actually infuriating. I don't remember when was the last time, when I wanted the protagonist to fail so badly.
And somehow it got a good animation than some Actual good stories 😂 ngl I feel like the gore itself feel like a normal scene like is just a gimmick "looks how dark this show is" . The first episode is ok, but I feel like it force audience to sympathise towards him, but end up just confused 😂 and the scene where they kill Chole (RIP) same like when you read 18+ Fantasy doujin (even some of it are better). I don't know man, maybe I'm just too old with this kind of show. I can't believe I say this but Shield Hero make more sense than this, even I though I kinda hate it. I think Kingdom of Ruin show is for people who really like revenge in a kids way.
@@aykarain Well too edgy if you ask me. There are some good "edgy" story but this one i feel like eh is ok. The MC too focus on his revenge he didn't care about his surrounding. That's why i said it revenge but in "kids/teenager way". Yes it is gore, but i feel like it's just a "label" for this show. And i didn't feel any sympathy toward the character. Even Chole death, i just feel it "force" the audience to feel sad but end up not.
Saying he doesnt care about Chloe because he goes against her wishes is a bit much. I think would be more like "well, shes dead now, what she would want doesnt really matter does it"
You can really notice how all rhe "Edgelord MCs' have the writer try to justify their downright evil, god complex characters, by making everyone else somehow even more evil. And often, they don't even try to have those antagonists or 'evil' *civilians* actually do anything evil. The author just says that they're all evil, while drawing some absolutely devious faces with some vague communal crime orgy in a flashback. While the MC leaves the entire town he massacred (for their lack of plastic straws) behind like an edgelord Redditor.
Read the novel reverend insanity no justify why he does things he just want power and will do anything for it you can read manhwa to but that cut short and stuck in the first arc
If this wasn't the years edgiest anime, killing off the king would be a baller move. @@marialourainebanosia26 Well It contains extremely disturbing scenes and its an dark fantasy revenge type anime but it's good unlike this one the MC in this one has all the reason to become a villain as he had to go through so much in his past like like getting assaulted physically and sexually by knights and other people they drug him run all sorts of experiment on him and then after he resets the world he decided to take revenge on everyone in the Kingdom
@@marialourainebanosia26 is pretty much revenge porn that makes like....about two percent more sense than this show. The issue is that Kingdoms of Ruin is apparently a manga sequel to a previous forgotten manga called "the kingdoms of caliburn". So we pretty much get an anime which is based on a sequel manga to a forgotten work that was never translated or made into an anime.
Exactly, well, it's Yoruhashi's fault too, she finished Kingdom of Caliburn kind of hastly. It was also not exactly popular, so much so that I am even unable to find the Japanese version of the manga. That's why, there are so many problems.

You wanna know something funny I just imagined? Why nobody writes a black-haired, red-eyed MC with a huge scar on his face and any other stuff that makes him look "edgy", but the character itself is very social, friendly, funny and somebody a lot of people would probably want as a friend on real life? That would be a promising premise.

It started going pretty hard, if not somewhat fun, up until a sudden pointless plot twist that made me drop the manga and anime immediately. The witches responding to the humans brutality isn't even a bad thing. They legit forced their hands to respond in kind and fight for survival. Hell his choice not to revive his master makes some semblance of sense if you'd understand that the witches only want Chloe to train up more writing magic child soldiers. But they kinda have to, their magic legit can't keep up with humanities technology and every witch that dies is one less of the population as a whole and they're, from what we can infer, basically an endangered species at this point. But it goes from an interesting concept to erroneous murder porn quickly, and I wish I was kidding to say there are literal doujin that use this concept. I wouldn't be surprised if both the mangaka wrote such stuff before with the hilarious amount of them that originally made porn before making manga. There's a lot wrong with his anime but I feel like you kinda chose the wrong stuff to even talk about and ommited context that makes sense. Don't gotta make up shit to shit on an already mid anime

I'm just basing this from the anime.
He doesn't need long lasting memory of the person he's resurrecting, he would just need some sort of memory for the person he's resurrecting which is why he was able to replce his master with another witch.

Yeah i had to peace out with this one when MC decided it was a good idea to intentionally get all remaining witches on the moon killed. A revenge quest is all well and good, not so much when the one doing the revenging is essentially doing the same shit to to the people that were wronged aswell for asinine reasons. Mf is as consistant as playdough
It's not for avenging the witches, not avenging his teacher because he could have brought her back, it's just for his own sake. Killing made this pyscho feel better so he just keeps killing, waste of time...
Was there even a reason to kill all them? Like, did he say anything, however nonsensical, about why will he do it? Like, IDK "You're all cowards who hide in the moon, I'll kill you."?
@@Gacha-Ritual-Master They wanted his master to make more magic pens, not really a reason to cause they're deaths but it's his excuse I guess. Honestly he's just selfish and bloodthirsty.
@@decidueyezealot8611 they wanted him to revive her so she can make them the same weapon he uses? To, like, retaliate for what the humans did or something?
@@Gacha-Ritual-Mastersince this idiot didn't explain it correctly, I will. The reason they wanted to bring his teacher back is so they can use her to make a bunch of magic pens she made for him. The magic pens would be used for a bunch of human children they were planning on kidnapping from the humans, force to learn magic, brainwash, then have those children use the magic pens and attack humanity. The reason why he didn't bring back his teacher is simple, it's because her soul didn't want to be brought back since she suffered so much while being alive. The reason why he killed the witches is mainly due to the fact that even tho they were slaughtered and hunted down by the humans they were basically no better then the humans who basically tried killing off their kind.
It’s animes like this that make me hate anime. I remember reading this as a manga and just getting so pissed off at the premise that I just made my own immediate ending and blocked the memory. Now I have to revisit this thing that’s trying with all its heart to get me to hate people again.
One thing I don’t understand is that each witch has their only singular power, like Doroko has love magic and her friend that clone substitution thing. But Adonis can do whatever he wants, has more versatility. It makes no sense that the witches can only do one single thing. Like how come they can’t do writing magic? Chloe supposedly taught Adonis and made the quill, but her magic was just ice magic. Then that would mean she had more than just ice magic, so why are all the witches losing if they should supposedly have more versatile magic at their disposal.
I won’t deny that this anime is Edgy Mess, but the plot does make a bit of sense once you realize everyone in the story is either a horrible person, dead, doomed or Doroka(girl in the cover, who’s a stupid martyr): 1)The title is in fact related to the story, basically by episode 2 the whole world is screwed Mad Max Style, so “Kingdoms of Ruin” because the place is ruined 2)The “Witches are Evil” reveal basically implies that while the witches were helping humanity they were doing it from a position of absolute superiority and bossing the humans around when it was convenient, that they exiled their greatest prodigy for teaching magic to a human means they wanted to monopolize magic to maintain said superiority, that’s why people supported the witch hunts: envy and resentment over being an “inferior race”(quickly went sideways though, since they were dependent on witches to cleanse their pollution and renew their resources) 3)Adonis doesn’t get to kill the Emperor because the Emperor is a “puppet villain” and he didn’t focus on the Emperor because he considered the whole nation responsible for the witch hunt Conclusion: The anime has some interesting ideas and themes but can’t deliver them to save its own life, it also has a bad tendency of making everything extreme, just looking at the main characters we have a genocidal maniac who hates everything and a dumb pacifist who can’t accept reality Edit: Someone already commented it below, but apparently this is a Sequel of “Kingdoms of Caliburn” and the current villain was previously the Female Lead, so maybe the story makes more sense if you read the previous one first? I don’t know
I don't know why you're trying to make it sound like this actually makes sense. It doesn't. The world building is terrible, the setting nonsensical and the story has nothing original or interesting in it.
0:38 well look at that! I'm actually a webnovel author and have even won one award, although I'm currently inactive for personal reasons. But so glad to see WN sponsering you. There are some truly amazing stories on WN. 🎉
Not a big fan of them tbh due to how they handled a lot of translations like Transcending the Nine Heavens as well as a lot of other stuff like how they handled Chinese author contracts, as well as the fact they're owned by Tencent. I don't know what they're like for western authors though so I can't comment on that.
I learned that this anime is a sequel story for The Kingdom of Caliburn and really stopped caring about most of it. First episodes have a lot of reveals and no real explanation and I don't see any real reason for any of the stuff involved. Like what's with the secret police... why bother with students finding the terrorist attractive... on what rules is the magic set up... why not just keeping using GAIN and firing off random bullets and converting them from 9mm to 90m rounds.
@michaelekun3175 it just got too much for me. Watched them make the emperor sewerslide himself and I was pretty much done cause I didn't see much point to continue.
@@bartofii True the story was probably not well thought of after the opening chapter, there is no way to justify anything in this anime and also they would have pinpointed him from the tower even if he kept firing random bullets making him a sitting duck I felt he should have gathered more info on the city since it has been a while since he last saw anything and find out what to do next whether destroy the kingdom or get revenge on human technology

I love the 1st episode then they lost me at episode 5. Bro is mad for something he refused to get back-reviving Chloe. At 1st, I thought he’ll side with the witches because they have the same goal, but then he killed those witches and now, he just wants to kill everybody. I think it’s easier for him to just kill himself than killing everybody, also, his feelings are not more important than everybody’s lives.
Why would he side with the witches when the witches gold wasn't the same as his? Sure, The Witches also one to kill all the humanity but at the same time they were trying to do it by forcing bunch of children to help kill Humanity. He doesn't want to kill everyone rather he just wants to a certain group of people which is basically everyone in the Kingdom, will you consider the fact that everyone literally agreed with the Witch Hunt and also watched his teacher get killed and stripped naked then his feelings are more important than everyone that Kingdom's life.
Haven't watched the show, but it'd suck if they didn't reveal in the end that he's simply insane, and is making fake reasons to "justify" himself. Jason Todd style
Imagine, the death of your precious ones became the reason and sole motivation of your life, revenge. Then after all those year, someone come to you and says "we can revive your precious ones but their became our tools so instead of fight for your self fight for us" would you accept that or would you kill them who reduce the value of your precious ones into mere tools?

Good that i am not alone when i thought it was stupid that the whole point on ressurecting the Chloe was because Adonis had like memories and stuff, ignoring the fact that still doesnt make sense because no way his memories is 100% Chloe and he knows eveything about her but ok... anyway pretending that would work, it makes even less sense that using the same "power of memories" he can ressurect a witch he knew for like 10min max... yeah
This anime is a combination of both RWBY and Akame Ga Kill in how bad they both are. Akame Ga Kill comes off as a 14 year old fanfiction trying way to hard or be adult and dark. All of the characters are one note and hackneyed at best, the world building is trash, the art style mediocre and the writing is terrible. Characters keep on getting killed off just for shock value and have no development what so ever. I also forgot to mention that the romance between the main character and the pink loli Tsundere is forced and bad. Rwby on the other hand used to be a good show, but after its creator died, the show has gone down hill to a series of nonsense and plot holes. The characters are all unlikable, annoying, forgettable and stupid. They act stupid for the sake of the plot. Some characters have a lot of potential but end up being very disappointing. The world building also nonsensical and stupid. There are a lot of scenes that don’t make sense. The backstory of most villain is just down right awful. The romance is garbage. Worst of all, there are a lot of behind the scenes drama going on with Rooster Teeth, the company that made RWBY, that paint the show in an awful light.

I hate it when they're making story about something being unnecessary over the top evil, like why did humanity want to kill all the witches, like why? What's the reason to justify killing a creature that looks exactly the same as you and all human was just like yep that's totally justified, it's just doesn't make sense
Bunch of questions. Why did the humans go after the witches? Did they know that the witches were planning on taking down humanity? And again, why were the witches planning to take down all humanity? Who went against who first? Why was the witches' sole purpose to help the humans, making them basically side-characters in humans' lives?
1: Because a power-hungry witch brainwashed the king to "get rid of the concurrence" so to speak. 4: the humans begun it under orders and likely propaganda of that king, 3:(the witches's plan) was retaliation. 2: They didn't knew *there was even witches left* until one send Adonis to the moon, but went finish the job regardless. 5: Good question.

Yeahhh, i thought it was going to be a story of Adonis finally making peace with whatever he has left (Doroka) and realising there's no point in the revenge he wants. I really did hold out hope and hell it might do that but it just kept getting worse. I don't know...but this story easily could have been simplified by use of this writing magic. 1. Heal king 2. Bring back his love 3. Unalive the government 4. Unalive the kings family 5. A friend requested this anime to me and I watched 1 episode because he pushed me to watch it. I made a deal with him that I would start this anime and he would start Konosuba. He watched all of it and I watched 1 ep. lol I was so bored from it and disliked it. And that he hyped it up so much even after I watched it, is for me confusing and concerning. Edit: He is 17 and I am 18 [He started watching anime from the 2020 Covid era]
1. He did not blow the tree up. The guy with an rpg did. (he even drops it on the slide you showed) 2. He had a tracker on him somehow which he broke and that somehow summoned humans. (even tho his body got replaced) 3. His goal was to kill humans - witches wanted to kill humans. What does he do? Summons humans to kill witches. 4. The queen was clearly a witch since she had a veil and all that. So I kinda guess that makes sense? This show was .. confusing.... I mean it set up this crazy big story about Adonis reincarnation and the new Queen being some sort of a last adonis reincarnation lover or what not, only to end on a "I got a new witch wife that can not see but she helped me get op so that is fine." Just pure confusion.

Him: "...Well shit...I should have revived my teacher and worked together with her to escape huh...Now I stuck with this annoying bitch..."
I remember dropping this after the first episode for kind of a shallow reason; the emperor’s palace. It was just a palace on top of a skyscraper. It just looked so ugly. Glad I didn’t miss much after dropping it
Adonis's 10 year plan that he came up with during his imprisomment was to make a gundam sized robot to destroy the city and shoot a couple really big bullets.
Well Adonis 10 year plan was made by a 10 year old
@caramelitoalegre What you described sounds like The Count of Monte Cristo, by Alexander Dumas, which is often seen as one of the best revenge stories in all of literature.
I thought he was going to gigantify a nuke but no.
@caramelitoalegre To be honest, the real mistake was saying that he had a plan when, as you said, that was impossible.
What he did was somewhat reasonable, considering they basically buried him alive for a decade. Dude was just insane an went like a rabid dog straight to where he assumed the emperor was.

Emperor Belos would be proud.

Tho honestly I might be very very wrong……)
So here’s some sort of story for this world I have….god created humans, but he made some humans different, they gave their soul to god before their death and receiving some magic, only way you can waste your magic is for the good (translating from bible language, only against sins) and you can never escape your contract.
Byeee

WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU KILL WITCHES WHEN YOU HATE HUMANS

Heck, the humans apparentelly only begun the purge because the witch Dorotea, the spouse of Goethe, brainwashed him to do so there is no-one left to oppose her
It started going pretty hard, if not somewhat fun, up until a sudden pointless plot twist that made me drop the manga and anime immediately.

Exactly! I was like "the witch apprentice is stronger than the witch itself?" Lol
If 100% of teens will love this anime then i'm a middle aged man in a body of a 15 year old
That doesn't make sense. Mind of a 15 year old.
@@aphrodite7194 just found my typo,thx
4:50 bro tryna make 9/12 💀💀💀
I won’t deny that this anime is Edgy Mess, but the plot does make a bit of sense once you realize everyone in the story is either a horrible person, dead, doomed or Doroka(girl in the cover, who’s a stupid martyr):
1)The title is in fact related to the story, basically by episode 2 the whole world is screwed Mad Max Style, so “Kingdoms of Ruin” because the place is ruined
2)The “Witches are Evil” reveal basically implies that while the witches were helping humanity they were doing it from a position of absolute superiority and bossing the humans around when it was convenient, that they exiled their greatest prodigy for teaching magic to a human means they wanted to monopolize magic to maintain said superiority, that’s why people supported the witch hunts: envy and resentment over being an “inferior race”(quickly went sideways though, since they were dependent on witches to cleanse their pollution and renew their resources)
3)Adonis doesn’t get to kill the Emperor because the Emperor is a “puppet villain” and he didn’t focus on the Emperor because he considered the whole nation responsible for the witch hunt
Conclusion: The anime has some interesting ideas and themes but can’t deliver them to save its own life, it also has a bad tendency of making everything extreme, just looking at the main characters we have a genocidal maniac who hates everything and a dumb pacifist who can’t accept reality
Edit: Someone already commented it below, but apparently this is a Sequel of “Kingdoms of Caliburn” and the current villain was previously the Female Lead, so maybe the story makes more sense if you read the previous one first? I don’t know
how the fuck did you make a more intresting plot line in one comment than A WHOLE STUDIO. shows how lazy they have been while writing
@@istoleyourtoast8037 he didn't he just said what happened
I don't know why you're trying to make it sound like this actually makes sense. It doesn't. The world building is terrible, the setting nonsensical and the story has nothing original or interesting in it.
@@zkeletonz001 nothing about it is nonsensical lol

Not a big fan of them tbh due to how they handled a lot of translations like Transcending the Nine Heavens as well as a lot of other stuff like how they handled Chinese author contracts, as well as the fact they're owned by Tencent. I don't know what they're like for western authors though so I can't comment on that.
6:15 she got her back blown out
I learned that this anime is a sequel story for The Kingdom of Caliburn and really stopped caring about most of it.
I guess being in prison for too long with no real planning of how to get revenge made him a thoughtless MC

"Meet *Adonis*" bro wtf that's basically two letters from my name
Oh hell nah why do I almost share my name with this BOZO 😭
Adonis in the anime is ass, but hey, look at the bright side, in mythology you can share names with the god of rizz
@@ammagon4519 that won't happen because we're shown everything he's doing is justified
@@vv_pmu7055 gee that sucks, why did I even bother lol.
Imagine, the death of your precious ones became the reason and sole motivation of your life, revenge. Then after all those year, someone come to you and says "we can revive your precious ones but their became our tools so instead of fight for your self fight for us" would you accept that or would you kill them who reduce the value of your precious ones into mere tools?
this anime is quite interesting once you realise that its a sequel to a manga which had all its content and what not wiped (kingdom of caliburn)
Some of these animes must have been written by angry teens that got dumped or were angry that their crush didn't reciprocate their feelings.
The mangaka is 100% an incel.
I read the title of this video and thought the same thing as you
Considering what happened to Doroka throughout the show...
...yeah. At times it feels like there is genuine hate towards her.

@@puyatnascientist1555 nah we are not better. We are just coping on the amount of cringe edgy stuff released since the shield hero. But not gonna lie it would have been fun when I was 13. During that time I watched some bad stuff.
it totally had the potential to be really good, it had a good path made by the best path builder ever, but then the author said "nah i dont like paths, i will go through the grass and mud", and well suprise suprise a potentially good story tries to continue without a goal or a mindset or logic or nothing.

Because they're afraid of them and don't want them to turn on them after they're already have been used by them
It's as simple as that
Bros entering his Eden Yeager arc💀
Too early 😂. He killed the story.
Witches saw themselves as superior to humans and would boss them around, they want control back basically
3:30 But that’s exactly what humans are like when they are brought up differently.

Yeahhh, i thought it was going to be a story of Adonis finally making peace with whatever he has left (Doroka) and realising there's no point in the revenge he wants. I really did hold out hope and hell it might do that but it just kept getting worse. Turned into basically a Kino's journey rip off for 3 episodes before deciding fuck it let's just make the mc's look even more dumb and have them suffer but not in a way that makes it impactful just a boom guess this is what's going on now then.

about memories of Doroka, at least in the manga its clear that he used the memories of all the witches present to revive her.

1. He did not blow the tree up. The guy with an rpg did. (he even drops it on the slide you showed)
2. He had a tracker on him somehow which he broke and that somehow summoned humans. (even tho his body got replaced)
3. His goal was to kill humans - witches wanted to kill humans. What does he do? Summons humans to kill witches.
4. The queen was clearly a witch since she had a veil and all that. So I kinda guess that makes sense?
This show was .. confusing.... I mean it set up this crazy big story about Adonis reincarnation and the new Queen being some sort of a last adonis reincarnation lover or what not, only to end on a "I got a new witch wife that can not see but she helped me get op so that is fine."
Just pure confusion.
