- Capcom has officially announced #SF6's launch roster of 18 characters, given the whole roster already leaked, and the original leak had 22 characters - I'm gonna talk about who these characters are, why they've been relegated to being DLC, and what we can expect from them in Street Fighter 6.

Can't see A.K.I as a Vega apprentice it makes more sense if A.K.I was the little girl FANG took under his wing in the SFV prologue from the database website. Her clothes look Chinese in origin and her forearm/hand is covered by dark purple veins. FANG most likely taught her how to store poison in her arms which is why her hands look that way.
Thanks for this, a few comments pointed out this story which I haven't seen before. I think regardless though, it's likely if they keep the poison gimmick, AKI will likely have a totally different moveset to FANG and it's not a lot to go off of, but given Vega is all about runaway and being a nuisance, I think it works better as a poison tipped claw mechanic than just FANG having weird normals and a low profile backdash. But we'll have to see! I was just going with what info I already knew. I should have mentioned this!

Akuma was actually in SF 4 Vanilla. He was even in the japanese arcade version of SF 4 wich predates the console release of SF 4
He was only a boss in arcade, but through secret conditions, could be unlocked in vanilla.

Marisa is definitely not a Sagat. Her gimmick is revolved around super armor
Yes, and tackles. But that doesn't mean she's not Sagat. In a game with parrying as a universal, his style of projectile based zoning isn't great - but they do mention standing overheads, a standing sweep and more for her. I think most likely she'll use the superarmor to bully a bit like Broly from FighterZ or Urien used to before he lost his invulnerable reversal.
@@DarumaFGC Honestly I think Marisa will in all honesty just be her own character, but even if she technically isn't and is reminiscent of someone, she's certainly not of Sagat. Not just in what was said about her moveset, but even design. Sagat is a master of Muay Thai, while Marisa clearly appears to have zero affiliation with just from design alone.
@@P.V.3606 I get your point, but I raise you that if Marisa is a new character unaffiliated with anyone else, then she is the ONLY completely new unaffiliated character in the game, discounting luke since we already had him in SFV, Jamie's openly affiliated directly with Yun & Yang and the leaked audio files for the remaining genderbends confirming their affiliations. making the one character remaining look like Sagat in a wig but be just totally original would be bizarre and without precedent.

I've been a giant fan of Rival Schools since I was a kid, Project Justice was one of my absolute favorite games on Dreamcast, so I'm 100% with you. I think Rival Schools characters would be a fantastic fit for the vibe and aesthetic of SF6, and it would be a sad shame if Capcom didn't give us at least one from that franchise.
A.K.I. is FANG's apprentice and she will use poison just like FANG. I can sorta understand I guess why you compared her to Vega but not a good comparison because its not known if she's even athletic like Vega and can do any moves like him, he just see's long nails and thinks claws and then thinks Vega. She is going to fight alot more like Fang using poison as her weapon and since she has long nail like claws she may fight like fang with with abit of even Kolin due to her using so many pokes with her rekka like hand attacks. Plus FANG does have long fingers and finger nails that are dipped in poison to fight. He uses his long sleeves to hide them but throughout the story you can see them as well as when he's in V-trigger 2. You missed alot when it came to AKI and FANG. Also when it came to Ed you only talked about playstyle and said nothing about his story and Neo-Shadoloo.
As for the large female Marisa she doesn't look like a Sagat replacement since she is not a Muay Thai looking fighter but an MMA fighter. Meaning completely different style, no projectiles maybe but who knows on that front, also she is her own thing as MMA hasn't been a thing in SF yet. Closest is Abel but he's already got a female counterpart. So your abit off in quite afew places and it seems the commenters notice the AKI and FANG thing you missed mostly. But predictions can go anywhere so we'll see. People are loving this game more than any fighter I've ever seen so that's great news. Can't wait to see all the characters.
To be fair, the lore leak we got alongside the leak of the roster was pretty much useless. Considering it got ken 100% wrong and caused weeks of improper speculation of what had happened to ken. I wasn't aware of the comic, so I appreciate this line of thinking being brought to my attention regardless, but as I'm sure you now FANGs biggest comment all through SFV was that the poison works fine but his moves do not, that for him to be viable he either had to have better normals and actually be able to play neutral, or better runaway to run the poison timer down.
I think it's more plausible that she's like Vega with the added poison gimmick, than she is solely like FANG, but it's still speculation at this point.
Eds story I do accept I didn't say much on but mostly cause SFV is very waffly on it, I feel like since it's such a fresh new start to have him head neo shadaloo and presumably ditch falke if she's not in this game, and we don't know what neo shadaloo are doing in SF6, presumably just nondescript good deeds, I feel like it's a bit like speculating on RE7 showing Chris redfield having joined umbrella as a sequel hook, I don't really think we have anything useful or notable to go off of to say anything notable.
Sagat and Marisa do share identical stature though, she does seemingly have grabs but I couldn't get from the leaked audio if there's multiple beyond her basic throw and a command grab, but we do know she seems to bully with tackles and superarmored attacks, which makes me think she will probably have armored variants of tiger knee to get in, there's also a LOT of mentions of superarmor, so it's possible it's on multiple moves. I think it's not unreasonable to compare the two even if they drop the zoning angle (not fully confirmed), I think bully characters are important but Sagat has always felt like he didn't really know what to be. Superarmored moves are a step in the right direction imo.
Thanks for the feedback! This script took me a few weeks to work on and edit and everything so I missed a few things just from going back and forth so much from it. But I'll definitely try to do better going forward.

@@DarumaFGC They didn't necessarily get Ken wrong tbh if we really wanna get deep into it. They said the Wife took the kid and wanted a divorce along with Ken being broke now we pair that up with how Ken bio says he's doing now in SF6 is that he's gone into hiding leaving his wife and child and can't even live his life anymore of the luxury of being rich as he's now a construction worker and looks rugged meaning the money isn't really there like it used to be, the story mode could still fit that the wife does indeed want a divorce and is tired of Ken's lifestyle of Obsessing over Ryu and fighting. I mean anything can really happen fr, I don't think the developers would reveal something so significant to Ken story like getting a divorce so soon even if it was leak because it could potentially be a huge part of his journey aside from the whole scam thing.
@@LEGNDARY_MIST they said ken struggles to even do a shoryureppa anymore when we see him do that at his day job like it's nothing in his intro cutscene. You could say he winds up that he's just hiding the pain and acting happy-go-lucky, but I sincerely doubt it. Plus, with what we were shown of world tour mode, the idea that Sean and Laura are assisting the player character to help get Ken out of his slump just seems absurd.
im honestly so annoyed that c viper hasn't made any sort of appearance in the recent news about the game. they screwed her over in sf5 (while constantly teasing her) and now she isn't even in the base roster of the game(AND potentially not even in the first DLC) she was one of the coolest characters in sf4 and she looked so cool jumping across the stage with fire kicks and thundernuckle moves
she literally became a top tier character despite her level of difficulty and intricacy.
Let's hope C. Viper returns in Street Fighter 6 future DLC. She deserves to return, it's been so long that she's been playable.

Honestly my biggest hopes for SF6 future DLCS are: C.Viper, Makoto, Sean, Dan, Yin & Yang and probably Abel (I was gonna mention Kage too, but idk if he stopped existing or not after Ryu defeated the Satsui)
Idk how many characters will appear in each season, but I hope there will be around 35 to 40 characters by the last season.
Judging by the sheer scale of this game, I think it could easily end up at 60 characters. Ever since most people I know were kids we all wanted a street fighter where you could make your own character and go around an open world beating people up, this will be the biggest fighting game ever and it's not even close
Rashid was my main. Just because you don't like him does not mean everyone feels the same way. He was the best new comer in SF5.
Its a bit silly to claim he's not controversial just because you like him. Rashid and Luke had extremely similar responses from the community at large because they were observably much higher power level than the rest of the cast.
@@DarumaFGC Luke's backlash wasn't just gameplay wise but him as a character and how boring and generic he looks especially when it came to him being the future of SF which everyone seen as a joke that was not the same response Rashid got, not even close like at all. Rashid and Laura are fan Favorites, they're probably strong but doesn't mean they were hated characters no they were quiet the opposite.
@@LEGNDARY_MIST not wholly true at all, Luke drummed up a ton of excitement for the game and massively boosted the player count. But he observably was like, broken. He was so strong they had to do an emergency balance patch just for him. The opinions on appearance were mixed sure, but same with Rashid, you can go on RUclips and find plenty of both opinions in reactions to both characters, I'm not really factoring that in since there's no real hard evidence towards it and I wouldn't say in a video something redundant like "I don't like this characters visuals" - no one cares if I like how they look or not. I'm specifically talking tournament sentiment
@@DarumaFGC Now me and you both know for sure that's a bull face lie😂 Half of the Street Fighter player base increased due to fan favorites returning and new DLCS not Luke. You go to just about every video that talks about the character of luke and it's not good, you ask any random fan of SF on what they think about Luke and it's not good. So far who is the least liked character in SF6 as of now? Everyone's answer would be Luke😂 The hard core evidence is there and it's the fans. Rashid I promise you from someone who was there from the start of SFV can tell you that Rashid was quickly a character everyone found cool and grew a fanbase fast.

Sean was so good in SF3 New Generation and SF3 2nd Impact Giant Attack but in SF3 Third Strike they changed him a little bit and nerfed into oblivion

Sean's unique moves are great. I'd like to see SF6s experimental take on character design applied to him. His forward facing tatsu has always been super cool to me
Gone are the days of sf4 where we could get an actual satisfying character roster with more than just the main shotos and friends.
I'm happy with the roster so far, they've put in work to make every character by far stronger than they've ever been. But I'm a pretty die-hard fighting game midranger, I like sword characters or characters with long pokes or short projectiles, like Vega and Falke, and there's really no one in the cast aimed specifically at that category, which sucks for me.
Lol yea give us characters like el fuerte and Elena so we can watch the game dwindle away like sf4....
SF4 will go down as the last great Street Fighter game sadly.

He absolutely rocks, the symbol on my Daruma is the same one he used to have on his back before it was changed
the Female Muay Thai could also be Adon's gender bend character, since it would likely be redundant to have a female sagat when CAPCOM could be preparing an actual Sagat.
I can't see it just being Adon, he has a pretty normal build, would realistically be smaller than SF6 ryu, while Marisa looks huge, much like sagat towers over the cast.
Plus, we already know she has grabs and superarmor from leaked commentator dialogue
Its so weirds Capcom decided to make Ed dlc again. He's a character without motion inputs, that might appeal to people who have trouble doing QC and DP but you have to buy dlc before knowing if you will enjoy that playstyle enough to stick with the game.
Everything with the game looks great but that decision just buffles me...
Perhaps because the modern control scheme works for every character, so they ALL don't have motion inputs this was no longer a consideration for capcom. It seems more viable than I expected too, I saw a lot of people very mad at getting cooked by people using it in the beta.
I was holding onto Akuma being base roster because I thought "aint no way anyone getin ed again as DLC"

Oh, I completely forgot about that yeah. Now until we get his trailer I will be wondering how he fits in a system like this. For him it will be Post-Modern Control type or Classic type will have motion inputs :P
It is worrying for many fans whether or not there will be the characters they ask for, it is ambiguous especially with the dlc. It only remains to wait and see if the total roster will be great
I can't say I agree with all your sentiments in this video, I feel like recently Ed has been considered as much stronger than what you made him out to be. Especially his Flicker, which is basically one of his most important tools for neutral. He could definitely use a little more though.
He's basic, but with his EX Flicker buff he has a much easier time getting you to the corner and using Flicker as a footsie tool really shuts out a lot of characters. He also has good, low effort anti airs if you keep the proper spacing. He can actually be pretty dominant in the neutral now, especially with V-skill 2 against fireball characters.
I think he's mostly held back by the simplicity of his toolkit, which kind of needed to be limited because of the lack of motion inputs required. It was also the first time they designed a character like this, to my knowledge. I do think he shines in the corner though, in kind of the same way that Luke does. That said, most characters can't really compete with Luke's corner combos, as he just has a ridiculous amount of juggle potential on his moves.
His EX fireball pressure gets great damage and stun, but unlike Luke, there's no extra reward to be had from learning a charge mechanic. What he has is what he gets, and I'm really curious to see if they're going to remedy this in some way.
I'm really excited to see what they do with him though, I hope he gets some more identity to his playstyle. It's also worth noting that he came out when the devs were still in their phase of keeping a character's potential fairly limited, so some characters feel kind of like patchworks, as the devs have to buff around the limitations the character was designed to have. Juri is a great example of this in my opinion.
I actually quite like Rashid though, much more than I'll ever like Luke. But what's more interesting is how they're going to design his toolkit, considering the V-system was so integral to his design. Characters like Guile have had parts of his V-system implemented as a special and a super, so it'll be interesting to see what treatment Rashid gets for his tools.
One of my most anticipated DLC characters might actually be Seth, even if it's not very likely they'll return. SF5 Seth was such a vastly different, yet very fun and interesting version of the character that I'd be interested to see what they would do with them again. Even now people are finding new V-skill/V-Trigger tech with this character. It would be so interesting to see how Seth would potentially utilize copied moves with the drive system in the game, as the potential for character specific tech would be even higher than it was in SFV.
Ed is definitely a lot stronger now than ever before, I'm mostly speaking as to the lifespan of SFV overall, and I don't think my suggestions of giving V-shift to him inherently while other characters don't and decoupling his dive are bad suggestions. Even though he's stronger than ever before in final patch - SF6's power level is way way higher than final patch SFV so even if he got in identically, I think he'd suffer from the same problems he did in earlier versions. And my suggested buffs could easily use simple inputs still, since V-shift isnt bound to anything in sf6 and aerial special seems to do something for most characters.
I think Luke's redesign (moveset wise, not necessarily visually) makes him waaaaay more interesting to me in 6 than in V, the aerial DP is super cool and I love his new supers. But yeah, I honestly just think Rashid will likely have V-trigger as a super, or someone suggested in a separate comment he might have a condor guage. I think with my concerns of how strong he would be, a resource to manage would alleviate a lot of that concern. But don't get me wrong I don't want him left in the dust. I don't mind strong characters in a high power game, SFV just made certain top tiers look like they completely danced on a lot of low tiers.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I don't have any problems with your opinions at all. And I love SFVs version of Seth, unbelievably cool with either V-trigger or v-skill. But moreso than a move-copier like Seth being added to 6, I REALLY want a stance character, whether it's Gen or someone altogether new. That's my personal request for the team.
Remember when Akuma was a secret boss character prior to appearing in every single game...me neither....

I really wanna see Hugo, but like 3S Hugo. SF4 made him really goofy, but 3S is actually pretty intimidating (at least up until he gets hit). Plus he just straight up doesn't have pupils in 3S. And I think that's kinda sick, adds to the intimidation

I really want Dudley and Bison back. If I can’t get Bison then Dudley should be in this game there is no excuse. He has skipped SFV. Him and Makoto have been ask for by the community for the longest.

i dont see ed having simple controls anymore considering his moveset was basically a test trial for modern controls. and having a character that only has those simple controls after youve implemented his control type as the default controls for all characters would be kind of weird and limiting
Not necessarily, there's no need to suddenly add motion inputs to him, and given that's what's iconic about him, I figure it's an if it ain't broke sort of thing. It's a good in-between for people who want to still have 6 normals instead of 3, and still aren't ready for motion inputs. I think it's fine if they keep it
They can still do it. Modern controls doesn’t allow every move a character can do. They’re limited to one button and direction. Ed requires you to press two of the same button type and modern only has light medium and heavy attacks. His full moveset can only work with classic controls on so it’s why I see Ed still having button specials

The only thing lacking with SF6 is the roster. The WW thing has run it’s course, and not having ANY SF3 characters at launch considering this is that games sequel is just absurd. How the likes of Ed and Rashid have made it over characters like Sean, Yun, Alex, Makoto, Dudely etc is idiotic. I get these characters will show up in DLC, but at least 2 should have been there now.
I do think its really strange that they missed some characters that seem crucial, SFV's whole thing wound up being about G and Rose and some kind of cataclysm event, not having either in 6 is baffling after all that.

Hey there, thanks for bringing this up, I wasn't aware of this FANG comic when I made this, which is my bad. But I think regardless if she is a female FANG she will likely have a very different moveset, there's good reason FANG only has a 0.6% pick-rate, and I think Vegas runaway actually having a purpose and being used as runaway would be cool and make sense for her. I don't think the two theories are mutually exclusive! But thanks for the feedback, sorry I missed out on mentioning this.

I was excited to buy this game at launch but I'm going to wait. This is just disappointing.

Especially since they did man's dirty in SFV, where all the DLC packs after his were treated like DLC, and Akuma was basically a Launch character.

I like to think Akuma can't find any more who is worthy of fighting to the death. I could be wrong though.
Since the roster leaked i think they should include all characters at release and add new dlc with the exception of Deejay and Akuma just because they classics rare playable characters

For people to think about buying DLC planned for a game that hasn't been released yet is just stupid.....if they can plan DLC now they can incorporate it into the game
There's some reason to believe that the entire roster being leaked has caused capcom to try save face and some hype for the game by releasing it earlier than planned, it would seem that originally the game would release in Q4 with these characters included, instead of Q2 with them missing.
Good video, but when it comes to your points on sf5, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Akuma's demonflip is not useless, and it was actually heavily nerfed back in his prime. Fireballs are not useless in 5 either. Please don't make extremely uninformed takes on the game when you're in bronze, half the people in this comment section would literally body you lol

You don't have to be a genius to see the disparity between the best projectiles in SFV and the generic ones, which was my point. If you look at the amount anyone can throw out fireballs, (besides the ones I listed as actually good, like VT1 akuma, Guile and Luke), and watch those characters in older street fighter games, or even games like CVS and MVC, it's a complete wash. Obviously universal mechanics like V-shift work against projectiles favour but even ignoring that they are SO much worse than they've ever been. It's ludicrous to pretend they're not.
Demon flip did get nerfed, but that's why I said sfvs implementation of Akuma is messed up. Akumas whole thing is having good air-to-ground, very maneouverable, worse fireball than the other Shotos. As a character. In every game. In SFV akuma might as well *be* VT1, as I said in the vid, Demon Flip isn't usable in most scenarios, which it's not, it's insanely telegraphed and slow compared to even similar moves in the same game like cammys hooligan jump. It's not usable in neutral outside of VT1, and VT1s projectiles are SO good they outclass denjin Ryu completely. It's not that akuma is weak in SFV that I was saying. It's that he's upside down. His strengths are opposite what they should be.
I'm not a bronze player, I've played a grand total of 20 ranked games and just don't enjoy the experience of playing against bronze and silver Ken's enough to want to actually play any ranked rather than just fight actually good players in lobbies.
It's sad how lame Akuma is. He should be a special boss character and should be almost unstoppable.
Yeah, akuma deserves to be a lot stronger, some entries like 3rd strike feel in a good place for him but V specifically he doesn't feel complete
Capcom has gone woke with all this replacing of male characters with female versions. It's totally unnecessary and so dumb. I played T.Hawk in 4 and was hoping he'd be back in 6. I have zero interest in playing a female version of such a cool character. Just ridiculous.

AKI miiight be a FANG apprentice, not confirmed. But I wasnt aware of FANG having an apprentice when I made the script for this, the comments informed me, sadly. However, due to FANGs low pick rate and low tier placing, it's likely she'll be very different to him if she is indeed his apprentice and uses poison. And I think that makes vegas runaway a great fit 👍
You're half-right on Marisa, She has armored moves (we dont know which), a standing overhead, and standing sweep, as well as a tackle, all moves that Sagat used a ton in SFV, i've never actually been too huge on his zoning compared to the bullying aspect, so I think its likely a kind of reboot of him, if you will.
I really hope Karin returns, one of the most satisfying characters to play in my opinion.
I'd change her a fair bit, it becomes a problem to balance characters with fast punishes that go into 30-40% - I like her moves and her combos but she plays in a way that's at odds with SFV, at least.

I honestly don’t think the leaks are even accurate on what truly is… from how the Ken leak was interpreted, it seems moves were vaguely seen and a guess was made. Like how he “lost” his flame on his uppercut when it was just the normal DP without the run cancel has no flame. So there could be room for hidden world tour interactions that could reveal the final few that haven’t been confirmed.
The concept art leaks seem pretty reliable, since like at the very start of the video, its identical. But the lore one seems much more dubious.

Didn't know people hated Rashid. He was consistently top 5 but never the best character in the game. Now that we are at the end of SFV, I think Rashid barely makes top 10
Obviously some people loved him. But there was a lot of disdain for how obviously designed to be strong he is. Especially prior to v-shifts introduction (and his nerfs in the final season) where he had a few loops that were brutal to deal with as well as a moveset that covers the whole screen in every arc. Even with his nerfs he still probably is top ten. Which doesn't sound amazing but like, in tournament the top 10 characters get massive representation. There was a lot of fatigue throughout the lifespan as well as disappointment in his pointless story

Hey bud, this video was made a long time ago with limited information from the initial leaks. All we had on Marisa was roughly what I said, she bullies people with long range martial art normals, and has superarmor on something. The common theory at the time was balrog, which I didn't really buy, since the listed playstyles don't really align. At this time, absolutely nobody would have assumed she takes a load of normals from Gill, who isn't exactly known for his neutral.
A.K.I. I will admit is likely at least trained by F.A.N.G. with a poison gimmick - the lore of him saving a young child wasn't known to me at time of writing and I've said such to many comments, but I do stand by the idea she'll likely be a claw based runaway gimmick character, I really don't see her actual combat style borrowing from F.A.N.G. whatsoever, since he's the least popular street fighter character of all time. And his poison gimmick isn't at all aided by his playstyle.

Everything cited in the video is based on publicly available information. The leaked roster/the intro video that plays when you boot up SF6 (You can watch it on the Street fighter official channel), the ripped audio files from the beta includes commentary dialogue about Mimi, Marisa, and Lilly (confirmed base roster, A.K.I. is absent from these audio files). And I made pretty clear the only speculative info I have in this video is to do with my guesses for how these characters would be improved in SF6, which I gave justification for.
I could have let you listen to the audio files from the beta and then shown T. hawk, Abel, etc moves onscreen, but there are many videos that have done that already, it wasn't the point of my video, so I skimmed by the genderbends in shorthand just to point out that A.K.I. is herself, a genderbend with a huge claw and lithe frame
The Ed section was a little weird to watch currently since I’m almost positive that he’s a top 5 character in SF5 alongside Luke and Cody
Top 5 has gotten pretty hotly debatable since there's a very healthy amount of extremely strong characters as of final patch and this video was made really early into it but a lot of what's pushing him to the forefront now is that the character types he would struggle most against in prior patches that were occupying top tier and top 8 constantly like akuma, Cammy, poison and Urien to name a few have largely fallen out of favour after serious nerfs and his style copes very very well against the current top tiers like Cody, Luke, Bison, Balrog and Guile. His weaknesses are still there, but the tools he's weak to aren't quite as strong in the final season of SFV so he's more often than not fighting in favourable matchups.

Street fighter V had such a gross implementation of costumes, fighting games are perfect for like a battle pass or in-game store, hopefully there's some kinda currency you can gain in the RPG mode to get stuff for free, but I doubt it

Not even a min into it and I disagree already, 1: Akuma has been a main character for every single game, 2: having Ed as a dlc character back to back years makes no sense and aki I dnt know about nor do I really care either
Akuma wasn't in the base roster of SF2, he was added in turbo
He wasn't in base SF3, he was added in 2nd impact
He wasn't playable in arcade SF4, he was added in as a character you secretly could unlock in vanilla, before being readily available in Super SF4.

I can't say I'm happy these 4 are DLC. I just hope they're fun. Personally I think they're most likely finished characters, and they've just cut them to have something extra to sell just after the game releases. But you can see for yourself the initial leaked roster with 100% accurate concept art, and the SF6 intro video that plays when you boot up the game (uploaded on the street fighter channel) - these characters have been silently cut from the launch roster. We know that much for certain.

Your points are all assumptions, but good video. We have no idea what Capcom will do with these characters.
There's a lot more evidence than you'd think for most of it. From the beta a lot of commentator dialogue was ripped. Some of what I said is slightly dubious, like about A.K.I. and Marisa, but we have confirmation already of what Mimi and Lily do. The rest I just tried to use info from the ways SFV was patched near the end when the new team took over, and what upgrades Juri, Kimberly, Luke and Blanka in particular all got.
Marisa doesn't play like Sagat.

I think adding a poison gimmick to Vega really tidies up both his and FANGs gameplay, since FANG had poison with really poor runaway while Vega has good runaway but no way to force people to try approach.
Although, I do empathize with having your favourite character replaced, my #1 wishlist for SF6 was Guy

Ed had ton of mobility just because he had no motion inputs doesn't mean anything. He literally had one of the best dashes in the game especially online .
Dash was good, but its more an issue of how commital his options are (especially the ones that move him) and his walk speed, I could have likely made it a little clearer. His dash forward, and his flying kick take a very long time to recover. Same with his snatcher v-skill (assuming you take it). His best whiffing tool is his little glowy ball before he uses it as a projectile and thats just not really good enough in most match-ups.
This is a sad DLC pack 1 and again wasted slots . Bring Fei Long and Dudley for f sake

I don't think akumas been low tier ever that I can think of. I would expect given the insanely high power level of sf6, he's gonna have some really ridiculous new stuff to keep him very relevant.

Damnd is actually in SF6, he seems to be the "main bad guy" if you can call it that. I don't know if you'll fight him specifically, but he sends all the mad gear guys to ruin everybody's day.

I theorise future dlc seasons might come with little Zones for the world tour mode that they're themed around. I.e. a rival schools high school, metro city slums with final fight characters, or a sf3 reference area with a bunch of the cast as dlc.
Since SF3 has been officially recognised and they said this game takes place after, it makes no sense to me that there's no sf3 characters on the roster either.

Yeah, and it ends a little straightforwardly as well. These characters do all get added into it though, and you form a friendship with them to learn their stories in this game. I scrapped a video though that I do think a story expansion will come, though I dont know if it will be a free update or a paid one.

I'm kinda shocked to hear that, things like a universal parry and starting every round with EX moves sounds great to me. They've done a lot to close the gap between the top 5 chars and bottom 5.

All iwant for christmas is hugo back, my main in both sf3 and sf4. I love grapplers, and seeing what they are doing with zangief i would really like to see other character from the style of mika, hakkan, alex, Laura, Abel, el fuerte, etc.
My #1 wish was Guy who's been overwritten by Kimberly :( but as far as who could make a comeback but hasn't yet, I would really want Gen & Gouken, as well as Rolento. I think they all feel really unique in a way a lot of SFV characters didn't.

I'm with you on haggar. They're in a weird spot given he does have a moveset in mvc, and it would probably have to be adapted a fair bit to be unique in street fighter. But he's way more iconic a character than Cody and guy, he's deserved a spot for a long time

Street fighter, and Tekken both make quite a big deal of being multi-national. Lest we forget that in the original street fighter 2, the character select was actually a globe, and you were selecting not just character, but country. While nowadays the practice of using stereotypes to the degree both franchises have done in the past is frowned upon, it is now part of their cartoonish and overblown identities. Enough so that if street fighter were to introduce a new fighter from a new country, say a Canadian for example, it would stick out like a sore thumb if their country of origin had literally nothing to do with their character design. I think less so than making Luke interesting and unique, he's intended as a jumping off point and blank slate, given he trains your create-a-character in MMA, which has 0 ideology involved whatsoever, whereas ryu teaching them shoto kon karate involves the satsui no hadō inherently, or yoga flame and such require tranquility of mind. I think the new members of the cast do a really great job of bringing their cultures to the forefront without being offensive stereotypes, same goes for dee jays redesign too. I just hope for representations sake the great minority characters of street fighters past like Sean, makoto and Dudley make reappearances.
The Japanese cultural view of America is largely formed from the post war generation growing up in occupied areas near American military bases, and mixed race children weren't uncommon, but they were often looked at as American, rather than Japanese. While street fighter isn't political enough to get into that aspect of Ken and his history, Kazuhira Miller from Metal Gear has an identical upbringing and he goes into this topic in GREAT detail in the bonus audio logs you can find in MGS peace walker. And they cover a lot about post-war, demilitarised Japan reforming it's cultural identity, and deciding how they felt as a people after the nukes. Whether you're a metal gear fan or not if it's a topic you are passionate about I recommend digging through the logs yourself, or you can find them in the video "Content Library MGS:PW casette tapes" by George Salonikh, I think you would find it enlightening to hear it straight from the mouth of the Japanese exactly why they feel the way they do about the American military, and it references many real world post-war events the vast majority of the west were never exposed to like the 1970 coup attempt by Yukio Mishima and how that affected the Japanese spirit. Me telling you to listen to audio logs from a video game is just a start, it could never reach the depth actual Japanese books and literature go into on this subject, but they do have very valid reasons that go very deep as to why they've developed the view and relationship with the west that they have done.
