    I love that you are reviewing in with the thoroughness and quality of the video. To accelerate the paint fading you might want to try spraying them with salt water regularly to increase the wear factors.

    Any update? How's the Behr Premium Plus and e600 doing? I'm looking to use one of them on my house.

      You'll save money if you opt for premium plus vs e600... You'll need to buy 2x the paint volume/labor to get similar coverage/look. I started my house with e600, hated it and switched to pro plus and the difference was huge.

    I just painted a rental unit basement with some Behr paint that was sitting since 2008 - it was phenomenal. Definitely some kind of old formulation compared to the newer stuff...

    Used behr e600 for my house, it was not good coverage and needed a lot of paint. Finished/redid job with Behr premium plus, night and day difference in quality and coverage.

    Id really like to know which has the best adhesion now that it's a year or so old. I think that will say a lot about how long of a life they will really have.
    My house has a huge amount of painted cedar siding (previous owner painted it). After 7 years it's failing where it's starting to peel. It's going to be a HUGE job to deal with this. I don't think I can go back to stain so I need a primer and paint that will stay strong for many years.

    I always had the best coverage for red paints with California Paints. Aura was second best. I haven't used PIttsburgh paints since the 1980's. I have nothing against their products but there are no dealers near me. I never use mid grade or contractor paints. The price for premium paints is worth the labor savings.

      After 1 year the paints looks pretty similar, the only one that change noticeable was resilience from SW... I am hoping next April will have some noticeable results...

      Okay we are just passed April 1 Year later. How's it looking? I'm in the process of shopping for exterior paint right now! Your answer could be incredibly helpful in my quest! @@prosperitypaintingconsulta5362

    Oil based all the way. Latex doesn't hold up for exterior use. Turns chalky and peels after 5 years. Also full gloss all the way.

    Does anyone have experience with PPG permanizer as far as longevity goes? I’d like to know how it compares to sw duration, superpaint, etc. The paint company I worked for over 10 years ago used alot of Behr premium plus and Behr ultra, and it seems to hold up pretty well after in 10+ years

      I will have a video showing the test results of these paints left out in a field for 3 years in the next couple months. I did dest PPG Permanizer & SW Duration.

      Awesome! I’m thinking of using permanizer as a go to exterior paint this summer. I’ve used duration once and really liked it, but a bit more expensive than permanizer

    I would never use Sherwin Williams…. Love PPG, BM, California, and even Behr’s top paints

  • @nickthinkpainting1978
    @nickthinkpainting1978 2 года назад +2

    Consumer reports is a joke . All reds fade especially here in New England. If the wood is protected from the sun ☀️ then it will definitely hold out longer. Sherwin Williams was always noted for issues with tint and fading. The gen x colorant from Ben Moore is no better it fades as well.

      They are just now starting to break down, CR does this test and it takes 3 years to get the results... But so far resilience by far has the most color change, they all collect dirt the same, some are starting to peel but think I need to give it more time to be able to consecutively say anything.
