      Hey, Michael. I just ran out to the bike shop and weighed each for you. Lezyne Macro Drive 1300XXL - 7.75 ounces. NiteRider Lumina 900 Boost - 6.26 ounces. Both weights include the mounting strap. - Eddie

    Good video, overheating is a problem with these high output lights, I bought the Gemini titan 4000 and even on the lowest setting they get warm, on the highest setting they'll overheat in no time without a good breeze running past them, to be fair though, they are so damned bright you really don't need to use them on full power

      Great point! Given that I published this video in October - my guess would be that the garage was pretty close to indoor ambient (72 degrees). My garage is temperature and humidity controlled and although it will get hotter/colder in summer/winter months - in the fall/spring the HVAC/Dehu keeps it fairly consistent. Thanks! -Eddie

    I use a niterider 750 on my handlebars and a niterider 750 micro on my helmet...and I usually run them both in the medium setting.
    Have you considered running tests in low and medium modes to check run times?
    I'm considering a much brighter light to get really long run times in the lower modes.

    I just bought two of the NiteRider Lumina 900’s today as they were $45 on Amazon. There was a sale so I grabbed a pair for my wife and for casual fat bike rides. We don’t plan on riding after dark but will use them for “get home” lights in the event we are out longer than expected. Would they be adequate for that purpose?

    Can the rubber strap led light be changed for a more secure and more fixed mount?

    • @SimplyMountainBiking
      @SimplyMountainBiking  3 года назад

      The loaded kit includes a hard fixed mount - I didn't review it because that kit normally adds another $10 difference between the Macro Drive and the NiteRider. Also - I never found a need to use it - the rubber strap has been more than adequate, even on rocky technical descents. - Eddie

    Great review, however my experience with Lezyne lights, was not great. My SuperDrive always stopped working mid-ride and would not turn back on or take a charge. If I pulled the battery the light worked for a little while. Customer service was okay, but after I sent the light in they claimed there was no issue but it came back still broken. Honestly, in 20 years of lights from NiteRider NightSun and Lezyne a 17$ "Amazon" light has been the best.

      When I filtered by bike lights with multiple LEDs under $100, the Lezyne Macro Drive 1300XXL was the only one I saw with 3 LEDs from an established manufacturer. Sure, there were more out there from lesser-known manufacturers, but I've been burnt one too many times by lights that have a stated lumen output and they don't actually deliver. In short, the 1300XXL was the only light that matched my criteria - so I bought it. - Eddie

    I am facing issue with Lezyne light. The issue I am facing is, when the battery persentage rage is from 100 to about 60, light switch modes automatically form 1300 to very low lumen mode. When the light is ON in 1300 mode for 4 minutes, this issue happens. When the indicator led is yellow (battery below 50) this does not happen. Do you face this issue? Or is it defective?

    • @SimplyMountainBiking
      @SimplyMountainBiking  2 года назад

      I have not had this issue. I had a similar issue regarding heat. Is your problem perhaps similar? Is the light overheating and going to low power mode? -Eddie

    • @saranyaas6674
      @saranyaas6674 2 года назад

      @@SimplyMountainBiking Yes it does heat... if I am riding continuously it wont switch modes automatically, but even if I stop my bike for 2 minutes it over heats and switch to 150 lumen mode.
      Also from my understanding, it seems if the battery is high (green led) it output maximum brightness in 1300 mode and hence it over heats and switch to low lumen. If the battery is medium (yellow color) brightness is little bit less (in 1300 mode itself) and and it does not over heat .
      Could you explain your issue?
