Amy, I'm so glad my mom texted me your video link as it absolutely warmed my heart that you enjoyed the frame ideas and found such an adorable one! And that you have enjoyed the books! It absolutely makes my week that you found them and have been reading them and for your kind words. Thank you! I really enjoyed watching another video from you. We like a lot of the same fabrics and it's nice to see when people still appreciate and use Aida as it's one of my favorites. Very calming and comforting. I was really touched when you talked about the mistakes and that the "mistakes make it mine' -- I keep making mistakes on everything I stitch and I'm like you, I only frog it if I really need to or if I notice right away. We are both looking forward to Christmas stitching and I am glad to be able to follow your progress and patterns! I just filmed a FT this morning before finding your video, so in my November episode, I'll be eager to say thank you to you and your channel 🌻 ~ Joanne
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and leave such a wonderful comment!! So glad you enjoyed it. ☺️ I agree that Aida is calming and comforting and I can’t imagine I’d ever go without at least one WIP on Aida. How fun that we seem to have similar interests and sentiments regarding cross stitching. I just finished the second book in the Cadence of Grace series the other day, and am onto the third, but I’m taking short break, because oof…my heart needs to settle a minute. 😂💛 Excited to hear you have another video coming up, I look forward to watching! Please, no need to thank me in any future videos. I just genuinely enjoy your content and getting to chat with you in the comments is a delight. I hope you (and your mom, too!) have a wonderful few weeks with lots of fun stitching.
Really sweet finishes. I need to get the Prairie Schooler Acorns for next year! Helen D has a video (or two) about flat finishes where she shows a great way to improve corners. It involves clinching them on the back with some needle and thread in each corner. It's easy and really works. Hope this helps!
Thank you. 😊 The Acorns have been fun little stitches and I hope you enjoy them, too. I appreciate the advice, to sew the corners and check out Helen D to see how!! I’ll definitely be trying that on my next finish. Relieved to hear it’s not difficult. 💛
Love all your cross stitch! Especially like the way you are finishing them. And….you are going to look lovely in your sweater. Keep up the great stitching, knitting etc!
Oh my stars- the finishing!!! You are so talented and have a great eye! I enjoyed catching up with your stitching this evening. I've been working on Autumn Town as I watch. See you soon, friend!
Hi friend!! You’re so sweet! Thank you so much for such kind words and for spending some time stitching with me. 🥰 See you soon!! (I’m excited to watch your latest video!)
Found you today and have enjoyed watching! I love that you are mindful of your budget because this hobby can get expensive. I look forward to your future floss tubes!❤
So glad you found me and enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!! And yes, it can get expensive, so it’s always exciting when I’m able to find budget-friendly options. ☺️
Hi Amy..thanks for keeping me company today as I watched every episode of your flosstube. …And enjoyed each and every one! I’ve been knitting socks for Christmas. I’ve probably knit close to 100 pairs of socks over the years. My husband and sons, daughters, and their spouses all like them as well. Two pairs I’m working on are just plain vanilla socks but another pair is a pattern I really like and you might, too. It’s called Skyppy Stripes by The Nerd Knitter. Another favorite is Hermione’s Everyday socks. I like a pattern but one that I can memorize pretty easily. As far as cross stitch I’m afraid I have too many wips going to be really comfortable with. Part of why I start a number of stitches is that I enjoy trying new fabrics and am trying to learn what I like best. Sometimes I wish I had more hands lol..to work on ALL the crafts! Looking forward to seeing you again in a few weeks. Have a lovely Fall..it’s gorgeous where I live in WA. Hugs, Suzette
Wow!! Thank you for watching all of my videos!! I’m thrilled you enjoyed them all. And oh my goodness, you’ve knit so many socks! 🧦😍 Thank you for the pattern recommendations, I’ve added the Skyppy Stripes to my favorites and library in Ravelry. 💛 I’ve knit the Hermione’s Everyday socks and really enjoyed that pattern. In regards to cross stitching, I’m still working on finding the fabrics I like best, too. ☺️ I look forward to connecting with you again in a couple of weeks…in the meantime happy stitching and happy fall!! 🍂
Not sure what you mean…I try to make sure all of the stitching and finishing I have done is in frame, and from watching the video back I couldn’t spot what you’re referring to.
Enjoying getting caught up watching your FlossTube. Your finishes look great. I love Purple Paper Mountain trims, she has an Etsy shop. Lots of variety and very good prices, fast shipping also.
Thank you so much!! I checked out your recommendation of Purple Paper Mountain, and oh my goodness, what a treasure trove! Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the Flosstube. ☺️ Happy stitching.
Love your "it's good enough" attitude!! I've never seen the Acorns booklet but it looks like something I may need to check out. This was my first time seeing your FlossTube and I really enjoyed it! Great job!
Thank you so much for watching, and I’m so glad you enjoyed!! I’m really happy with the Acorns patterns, and I hope you enjoy them too, if you decide to stitch them. Thanks for your time and your encouragement, I really appreciate both!
I'm really enjoying your channel and your projects and finishes. And I totally agree that the mistakes make it mine! If I wanted perfect I would get something off an assembly line at a big box store. Perfect isn't personal. Perfect isn't real. I want my projects to be perfectly imperfect so my efforts and the time spent shine through.
Hello! So thrilled to come across your Flosstube! Wanted to tell you that you’re not behind on the Free Stitch Fridays. This was the first one. You have a fabulous start on it. Primrose has been doing Free Quilt Fridays for a while and just started the stitch ones. They are once a month. I’m looking forward to starting it soon.
I’m thrilled to have you here!! ☺️ Thanks for letting me know it was the first Free Stitch Friday. I’m so thankful I found it, it has been really fun to stitch on. Hope you enjoy stitching it, too!!
I enjoyed your video today … your finished projects are amazing and you were so created in finishing them … I really liked your wips and your haul … I love how your future projects are your own color choices and they are going to be beautiful when finished … I love to watch Anabella’s Shop with Elayne and she says there are no mistakes in cross stitching 🧵 … I say it’s your work so be happy with it … I hit liked and subscribe so I will be sure to follow you on your channel so until next time Happy Stitching 🧵 … 😊❤ Dena
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for watching, and hitting like and subscribe!! I appreciate your kind words, and I love that…there are no mistakes in cross stitching. 😍 I’m thrilled to have you here, and am grateful for your time and sweet comment. Thank you!!
I like the pewter for your snowflakes. I think the free Friday cross stitch from Primrose Cottage was the very first one offered by them. Enjoyed all your finishes and projects!
Thanks so much for letting me know you like the pewter! And that the free stitch from Primrose Cottage was the first one. I’m really enjoying stitching on it. Glad you enjoyed the finishes and projects! ☺️
On the backside of each corner place a little hot glue near the point then pinch both sides that are close to the corner into the glue. . I hope this helps. Save some of you pieces of stitch cloth don’t throw it away and cut small squares of cardboard to practice. If you have regular fabric you can practice with that. It does get easier. Look at Vonna’s tutorials I think she has on out there that shows how to do a flat finish and she shows it.
The glue and pinching in the corner is what I’ve been trying to do…but great idea to practice on scraps. Thank you. A few people have recommended sewing the corners, so I think I will try that next, but use your idea to practice on scraps first. I appreciate your insight, and the knowledge that it gets easier. 😊
Enjoyed your video. You have some patterns that I'm not familiar with. The Primrose Cottage you've started is the first one in the stitching free monthly designs. They have been doing monthly free quilt patterns for quite a while. I'm doing several of their Quakers (seasonal). See you again!
Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave me a comment! I’m so happy you enjoyed the video. 🥰 I just finished the Patriotic Quaker, I have yet to do any of their other seasonal quakers. Hope you enjoy your stitching!
Just found your video! Beautiful finishes and WIPS. Will be starting with the first one and work forward. I’m also a crocheter and knitter and knitting a pair of socks for my husband. I also like to read Christian inspirational books. Will check out your books that you showed.
Thank you so much! So glad you found me. ☺️ Are you knitting a certain pattern for your husband’s socks? (I’m always on the lookout for good sock patterns.) And do you have a favorite author for Christian inspirational books? Happy crafting and reading!! 💛
@@amymmakes Sock pattern is Petty Harbour by Rayna Curtis (already made 11 pairs for hubby). The authors I have been reading lately are Rachel Hauck, Denise Hunter, Kimberly Rae Jordan and Karen Kingsbury. I know there are others, but these are the ones that I can remember.
@@marypassmore308 Thank you for sharing your sock pattern and authors! That sock pattern looks great, and it’s free! 😍 I’ve added it to my Ravelry queue. And I’m excited to check out some books from those authors. I’ve read Karen Kingsbury, but not the others. Thank you again!
Loved your finishes and you will get better with practice ;-). You might want to check out Vonna Pfeiffer, The Twisted Stitcher, she has numerous finishing videos up on RUclips. As far as finding the perfect chenille etc since you stitched it with DMC, you could make your own twisted cording with the DMC colors you used. Or, since you crochet and knit, you could try to find a yarn in the right color and crochet or knit cording. I think there is something called Iphone cording that you can knit and might work for your finishing.
Love your economical finishes, so far I have done one with my $5 target bat frame. For tighter corners after gluing, stitch them as well, that might help. Happy Stitching. Watch Helen D for tutorials, she is great.

Thank you so much! 💛☺️
Awesome finishes and your stitching is beautiful! Really enjoyed your video.
Thank you very much!! So glad you enjoyed. 😊
Love how your sweater is turning out. The color you choose is beautiful.
