Our family has been coming here for over 60 years! My grandparents have a holiday home here, the village has changed a lot over the years. Especially since Doc Martin. It feels like home every time we go. You captured the village well, good video.

Port Isaac is one of the greatest places of all time in fact I came here last week for three nights I was staying in hotel not far from it I was there for three nights Friday Saturday and Sunday and came home Monday and it was a great opportunity to go visit Port Isaac I loved it when it was used for Doc Martin cause it was one of my favorite tv programs of all time I actually visited the Doc Martin house and it was amazing I was a fan of Martin Clunes he’s such a great but when it comes to Port Isaac it’s such a beautiful village I will definitely be coming back there again to visit the amazing village but what great video you did and nicely done keep it up

The "Docs surgery' sold for 875,000 pounds. Original asking was 1.25 million. I think they were trying to capitalize on the show. Was there last May, got to meet some of the cast. Lovely place

Wh thanks for that!!! I saw they wanted that but couldn’t find how much it actually went for! Crazy as quite a small place

@@ExplorewithSarahlouise It is indeed a small place. There is a RUclips video of the interior, made by someone who stayed there. It is nowhere near as large as portrayed on the show.... In fact there just isn't room for a desk where Doc Martin's receptionist sits in the series, nor is there a door through to his consulting room. Those parts were filmed in a studio created on a nearby farm.....

I always wanted to know what is that large building just above Doc. Martin's surgery on the right? Someone, please explain.
    Thanks.

It’s a house I believe around his surgery house is just different houses the first shop : business is half way down that road there is a white building that’s a shop and cafe which is about opposite where the restaurant used to be.

      It's a small village, not a town...

The last time I was in the Buttermilk shop (used as Mrs Tishell's chemist), the owner said a large American guy walked in one day and demanded to know where Mrs Tishell was, and what had happened to the chemist's shop!! He refused to accept the reality when informed of the facts.....

Going here next week. I love Cornwall and Cornish villages, but do feel tourism is spoiling them. The local themes, fishing etc are all vanishing. They are nothing like the villages depicted in Doc Martin. I know the irony of my comment!

I guess it’s both because a lot of these places likely make a lot of their income in the few months of summer but it’s also I’m sure very annoying for residents and has pitfalls. I know they don’t like people owning second homes. My family live in Devon so I go quite often now as I prefer Cornwall as love the beach so make a real effort to get over the border as much as possible! It’s definitely notably warmer

@@ExplorewithSarahlouise We have the same problem in certain areas of the Lake District, with some of the smaller villages and hamlets having as much as 40% holiday home ownership. The local authority have now increased Council Tax on holiday homes by 150%..... Affordable homes for locals in some areas have now reached crisis point.....
