My English/Welsh heritage, despite my Americanism, longs to see this 0art of the world. I fell in love with Cornwall and Devon several years ago. Such a stunning part of the world! Never dreamed I'd enjoy Doc Martin, since I gave up TV years ago, but it's turned out to be a quirky, interesting, fascinating program. I'm well into season 4 on Tubi. Thanks for the tour. 😊
Port Isaac is another awesome village town in Cornwall that i enjoy seeing and i used to watch Doc Martin every weeknight on PBS here in Oklahoma right after Last of the Summer Wine and i like the seaside community here with it's local shops, pubs and eateries as well as the thin streets of Isaac this was another awesome place to do a walk around in and it is very beautiful here thanks again and until next time Thank You very much.🇬🇧🤠🇬🇧
We love it there, didn't watch doc Martin when it was being filmed and missed a filming day as cast had covid, only just watched whole 10 series on itv3, it's so beautiful
Thanks for posting this. I know exactly where to find doc Martin's house now Thanks to you. Going there tomorrow. Not sure the weather is going to be all that but that's life I guess.
We visited in March of 2024. My hubby and I always watched Doc Martin. We had a game, Tides In , Tides out. Before he died, he told me I had to visit Port Issac. I was to take a stone from his favorite boatramp . Put his initials, dob and dod. I took it to Port Issac and throw it as far as possible in that beautiful water. He would be proud. Then I drank a glass of wine as the tide rolled out.
@JoeCoastal don't forget to tides in tides out with a glass of wine. I know you will enjoy the town, go by the pasty shop and get a container of cornish seasalt with garlic to take home. It's fantastic!
You missed Temple Bar - known to visitors as Squeeze Belly Alley. It's about 18 inches wide. And you also missed a fire insurance plaque near the roofline of a cottage on Dolphin Street. It was formerly a pub. Sadly now the holiday cottages are very expensive. My cost to stay in a three bed cottage was £450 a week in 2019. In 2022 the same cottage was double that! Same cottage now is £1100. All the same week in May. I'm priced out! 😆
@@GimbalWalkTV They are silly prices now. We have stayed in three different properties over the years (one of them twice) but I am not sure we will stay in the village again - much as we love it - as it is too expensive now in peak season. (We are restricted to school holidays.)
@@sarac.3259 We've just booked a 2 night stay there for the first week of July. We did an Airbnb and it wasn't too expensive. Can't wait to see it in person.
I'm watching from Poland and yes, I'm a big fan of the Doc Martin series. One day I hope to be able to go to Cornwall and see the place and other villages and cities there. Which cottage would I chose to stay in? No idea, they all look amazing! Probably one with a view over the bay.
We can’t wait to visit here. Thankyou for showing us Port Isaac. We are coming for our first overseas trip from Australia and staying in Port Isaac for 2 nights. Love watching your videos.
Some friends and I stayed for a week in Port Isaac the year before they started filming Doc Martin. My husband and I have visited a few times since then and we once stayed in The Old School House hotel. It's a beautiful place. The walk from the car park is a killer though!
Only found you couple days ago. Brilliant stuff I would really love to have a place to live in one of these old fishing village's. Maybe Mevagissey or Brixam . Keep up the good work 👏
Beautiful vidéo as usual neil Hey neil you should go To Bretagne in France Seaside town like dournenez locronan/ roscoff /erquy /quiberon beautiful landscapes and seaside townlike cornwall Think août it It s way better than spain😁😁😁😁
I’ve stayed in the cottage at the beginning of the video, the one painted blue, across from the pub, dog friendly one bedroom, the only downside you have to park your car at the top of the hill past the school
In this place another movie was filmed: "Saving Grace" with Craig Ferguson, Brenda Blethyn and Martin Clunes. Actually, the character Doc Martin appeared for the first time in this movie. But, at that moment, Doc Martin was a nice guy and not grumpy like in the TV show. But it's a fantastic place to visit. Just a question: You said that this was filmed at the beginning of Spring so, I assume it's end of March beginning of April. Let's say that I follow your advice and I go at that time. All the shops and restaurants in this video were CLOSED !! What's the meaning to go there if I can't get a simple coffee while watching the ocean ?? Thanks
how does an American move to such a place???? i was born in the wrong countreeeey!!! 😭😭😭 also, what was that water running along side that building at 10:00? interesting...

What a beautiful village nice to see it hasn't been spoilt like some videos I've watched of towns in Cornwall. Hope it stays like that.

I often wonder where do the locals park their cars? Do they park outside the villages like the tourists, quite a trek if they do
Port Isaac is similar to Polperro, beautiful villages.
It is!
