L'eruzione più "pericolosa" fu nel 1600, e nonostante tutto non morì nessuno nonostante tutto perchè l'Etna genera lente colate laviche (la lava impiegò 3 mesi a raggiungere la città principale..) non pericolose esplosioni o grandi emissioni piroclastiche
