My only problem is trying to straighten out wire after I tried to make an oval and messed it up.

I use pliers to straighten out the wire bit by bit . i takes time but it works

Do they last a long time or are they delicate?

resin is pretty hard after curing but it also depends on the design . for example the boat charm and the butterfly brooch are Resistant but the note ones are delicate . the only down side of resin crafts is that they become yellow over years .
