Love your vids

unreciprocated love :(
His love for Aunty Esther is as strong as yours for Uncle Roger. It's a beautiful thing when people find each other.

You never fail to slay me yet again, Uncle Roger.
Words of an Uncle living in the UK!
It hurts cuz it's true
Lmao this takes me back to watching OG iron chef and roasting Bobby Flay with my mom as a child. How this man has had the career he has had for the past 20+ years….😂

Epic tale of one sided love continuing.

I have a fan theory that he and Esther are actually dating lol
He puts auntie Esther on the same love level of rice cooker and MSG.

that's true love
@@Rololoby-rt5jo yep
Now that's love
I get a meal prep service delivered during the week because I am sooo lazy when I work and am going to school. I always order a lot of the Asian inspired dishes, and when heating up some spicy Korean pork with kimchi and white rice, I looked at the packaging and realized the chef who created the meal is Auntie Esther. She’s so good at what she does!
The finding the pickle thing is actually a German Christmas tradition. Traditionally, the person to find the pickle (often it's an ornament) gets a special gift, but I think the gift in this case is just everyone screaming.
been German my whole life, never heard of this. Hope this tradition stays far aways from me :D
@@mmcat2863 That's because it's not German. It's German-American. Like many folk traditions, the origin is unclear, but seems to have started in immigrant communities in the late 19th century.
@@mmcat2863 Especially if the prize is a "Gift." ;)
I lived my whole life in germany, and never heard of it. If anything it could be a stereotypical german tradition like wearing leather pants and drinking huge glasses of beer all the time.
It's not German. 😅
the fact that he isn't roasting her into a crisp unlike other people he reviews shows how much he likes her
I noticed a bit of a comedic double standard. Roasted Auntie Leah but gave Auntie Esther a pass. 🤷
@mnrigeIng 🅥 the bots are taking over
Insane this video ain’t even on yt for an hour and alr on 8k likes
watch him visiting her restaurant , there were some good vibes between them^^
It gives away as he made the pickle joke🤣
Auntie esther Is the only girl that never disappointed uncle roger
@mnrigeIng 🅥 In this video, Uncle Roger reviews Auntie Esther’s appearance on the cooking competition show “Beat Bobby Flay.” Auntie Esther makes Korean dishes including bulgogi, kimchi pancake, and mushroom rice. Uncle Roger is impressed with her use of pear in the marinade for the bulgogi and is surprised when Bobby Flay adds soy sauce to his boiling water for the noodles. Uncle Roger also promotes ExpressVPN and encourages viewers to check out his upcoming tour. The video ends with a teaser for nephew Nigel’s upcoming stand-up comedy special.
😏😏
@@rizzle_master did you already submit your resume
That's why she has been promoted to aunty status. Because she is good.
*Hasn't disappointed Uncle Roger yet.
I can’t believe he had so much knowledge over Korean cuisine, almost everything he said are so so true LMAO
what mistakes did he make?
I am sorry Uncle Roger for ever thinking you only know Malaysian dishes. You have proved to me that you know Korean dishes better than a LOT of other celebrities. You have my respect as a Korean and Foodie
Auntie Esther is the only chef that never gets roasted by Uncle Roger and never disappoints him. Now that is next level Uncle Roger Treatment
find you somebody that treats you like Uncle Roger treats Auntie Esther
Lol
Auntie Esther is the anti-Jamie Oliver.
SIMP
He called her so white for using a peeler, so... Did you watch the whole thing??
The only person who doesn't really get roasted by Uncle Roger is Aunty Esther. She is on premium aunty level 😂
your comment had been copied by bots atleast 3 times. :v
True, Auntie Esther is not only a good cook but a nice person as well.
Doesn't get roasted, because maybe she is more than just an aunty...👀😅
every one who followed uncle;s video about Easter see true chemistry on him
@@chickenfeet9304 i agree uncle roger mentioned lots of dirty phrases in side of Easter but she didn;t react wierd or getting upset , she;s pretty cool woman
Not knowing the result, I can't imagine Bobby won that, but I have to give him mega props for going solo against Esther and Leah in a cooking culture that he is less than familiar with and coming out making food that looks edible. Honestly, he had almost TOO many handicaps on this one, he didn't stand a chance.
Actually Auntie Esther won!
Yea, back in the day when he first started doing this "challenge chefs at what they excel in" thing, he'd win almost all of the time in a straight fight. He knows what works and what people like, which might not always be authentic--- as authentic usually means regional tastes that might not have wide appeal. I guess his showrunners (or Flay himself) noticed that and started doing handicaps, but at some point it became the norm and now they have no idea how to tone it down without it looking like Flay can't handle it.
Yeah Bobby rarely loses so this tactic was genius
@@gamerzay69 Also if he would loose all the time people would be less interested in the program ;)
i also like how uncle rogers is doing his best to have good faith in bobby flay, being considerate of how he has to do things on the go without the time to actually do research for korean dishes, unlike the chefs who claim things are authentic but it's clearly non-traditional
You can tell that Uncle roger loves someone if he treats them nicely and doesn’t roast them
He literally called auntie Esther too white for using a peeler. Then criticized her for putting soy in water for noodle.
@@blam9360 it is his job to judge..
@@stxr_livia No 💩 Sherlock, you miss the point of my reply, which was the Uncle Roger DID roast Esther. Try to keep up, junior. 🙄

@@ReptilianTeaDrinker I used to hate onions. Literally putting it aside in my plate. But after learning how to cook, I can't live without onions as well as garlic that I also used to hate.
Every time the sous chef talked about what she was doing or tried to mess with the usual recipe, Auntie Esther looked so pained lol
Seriously an Uncle Roger cooking show? Count me in. I’ll support that in a heartbeat
OK but I cannot be the only one here who would absolutely love to watch Uncle Rodger be a judge on a cooking show, right?
He's a judge every video he makes.
I think you are… you must be the only person in the world with that view
Search “uncle roger sorted food” it’s another channel he collaborated with and judged their attempt at fried rice
There is an episode of Sorted food where he does judge, it's hilarious!
There would be so much tension anticipating when he's going to take foot down from chair.
Fun fact: Uncle roger actually had been a judge in an indonesian cooking tv show for 1 episode as a special guest
Name and episode pls

Uncle Roger had me dying when he said Bobby was making that Salad Mexican 😂 I’m Mexican and I’ve made Pepino Salad with Aguacate before and yeah I put Cilantro tambien 😅
But for the record, cilantro means coriander leaves. The world outside of Mexico and the US just calls both the leaves and seeds coriander.
Just saw her on the Netflix Iron Chef. She was amazing and should have won the final!
5:10 the fake smile from auntie Esther when her partner was talking about soy sauce in the water got me 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah auntie Esther is so nice. I would have smacked her down Gordon Ramsay style for doing that.
She dying inside 😂
"I am sorry mom", you can hear her thinking it.
Actually putting soy sauce in the water is not a bad idea. The noodle will be well seasoned (just like putting salt in water when boiling pasta), and noodles will be coated slightly with brownish colour from soy sauce (especially if you can’t find the right type sweet potato glass noodles)
@@ciaochau2873 Glass noodles absorb flavor better than pasta, so you should just add flavor after boiling, no point in flavoring the water only to dump most of it away. Also, unlike salt, soy sauce is a combination of many flavors, so some flavors will stick to the noodles more, while some others will stay in the water more.
4:01 at least Bobby is honest about it, as opposed to other chefs who claim their recipes are "traditional" when it's really just an amalgamation of what they think are typical ingredients
Right? He's doesn't really know this cuisine and doesn't have time to look it up, so he's making it up as he goes. But when they've got time to look it up and just can't be assed to, there's no excuse.
he was crushed when he saw him hug esther, his face says it all
As a Korean, I shed a few tears when I heard, " Is avocado Korean food?"
SPOILER: Sorry for not putting in weejio, but auntie Esther won this round in the end

Im here
You not only have great food taste, but movie taste also
Uncle, me as a Malaysian, how I can get a discount to watch your full show.
Fuiyoo
Bobby Flay deserves so much credit. He has to blind cook a dish that the competing chef has made thousands of times on this show, and he wins quite often. He may not be a fancy chef, but his versatility and speed is pretty incredible.
And he shoots multiple shows a day
Not a fancy chef, but still an Iron Chef. And damn if he didn't earn that title.
He is really good at competition cooking
He's one of my favorite food network chefs.
@@silla-je9od auntie won, @mrnigelng mentioned it in a comment.

The way uncle Roger looks for aunty Esther just makes me happy
Auntie Esther is the only one who can do no wrong in Uncle Rogers eyes
Uncle Wang Gang begs to differ.
When other’s do something wrong,
Uncle Roger: You fucked up
When Auntie Esther does something wrong,

i think Uncle Roger's Kitchen Show is a really great idea 😂😂
13:30
It's just too cute the way uncle Roger just disagree in any way to say no to Aunty Esther's Cooking 😆💓
“This dish so American, it should come with a side of no health insurance” 😂 had me dead
I'm American and I have health insurance so I don't get it.
The joke is that Americans often have unhealthy diets characterized by use of fatty foods. Here, Bobby is making Fried Chicken and Mayonaise. These foods are the perfect example of being terrible for one’s health due to the cholesterol and fatty oils. Additionally, the US is the only OECD country without universal healthcare. See King v. Burwell; see also NFIB v. Sibelius. Thus, Uncle Roger’s joke is social commentary on America’s fatty foods and health politics. Also, I am American.
@@harrisonblock1605 Damn that all sounds like a skill issue, just eat healthier and get a job that provides insurance lol.
@@govols1995let me clarify - I do not have these issues. The joke is based on stereotypes of Americans and that is why it is funny.
@@govols1995 It's American stereotype. If you a healthy American, then good for you and stay healthy.
Uncle roger is the only person who can insult you and praise you at the same time 😂😂
Typical asian uncle/auntie
English has a phrase for it - backhanded compliment.
Example - "You were running really quickly when I lapped you in the 1500m race."
First of all, crispy rice is VERY traditional in Korea, since we make it with leftover rice. Second, gochujang-mayo is NOT American, as we have been using it for the longest to dip dries fish in it.
Uncle Roger caught simping in 4k.
Theres just something very hilarious about Uncle Roger saying "Nephew Bobby" and I am all for it.
And "Newphe Suit Guy"
Aunty Esther could make cup noodles and Uncle Roger would give it 5 stars 😂
Uncle Roger you missed him covering the pan with another pan at 7:25 😂😂
I would definitely watch a cooking show with Uncle Roger as a judge
"But I trust auntie Esther if she say it good then it good"
Ah yes we can clearly see he ain't simping🗿
Lol
But honestly she is an award winning chief, if she says is good then it probably is.. But then again you have Jaime Olivers...
"I trust Auntie Esther, if she say it good, then it good"
Also Auntie Ether: "I'm a fan of Jaime"
HAIYAA!!!😂😂

I understand Uncle Rogers love for Auntie Esther, she is awesome. I also hope he can do a show with her that would be so sick.
3:03 😂 i had never seen a youtuber so comfy and casual sitting like at home for video
Uncle Roger pointing out that Auntie Esther is a big TV star because she's in some TV show.
But Uncle Roger/Nephew Nigel got invited by THE Gordon Ramsay himself just recently
not only that. but he (Nigel) succeeded in making Gordon promote his tour show.
@@sirBrouwer it goes both ways. Uncle Roger promoted Gordon cookbook.
What is THE Gordon Ramsay, is that a toy?
@@anarchy_79 it is. it's the favorite toy of Mrs Ramsay.
The 'finding pickle' moment is from an American tradition that either comes from Germany or has US-based German influence from the mid- to late-1800s (depending on which version of the story you believe). Somebody hides a glass pickle ornament on the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve and the person who finds it gets some kind of prize of either special recognition, a treat, etc. So this was their play on that tradition.
Correct! It’s at 9:00 if you need to rewatch
"Glass pickle ornament" That's just hide the dildo.
You will have a hard time finding a German who has ever heard about this "German tradition". I am a German born in the former Eastern Block and heard about it just a year ago, in a video of an American saying how surprised he was that nobody here has ever heard about the pickle.
@@steemlenn8797 Exactly. It's a myth.
Likely made up by somebody who got their hands on some novelty Christmas ornaments shaped like pickles, if you ask me.😂
Seriously though, it appears to be of American origin.
@@JuMiKu, yeah - I kind of buy into the theory that this was just because somebody in the late 1800s decided it would be a brilliant marketing ploy. I grew up and live in the US, never having heard of this until I met extended family for whom this was a regular thing.
Just want to say, that I stop the weejio because he mentioned shaolin soccer, watched the whole movie, and came back to continue watching the weejio. 10/10 movie.
just for a bit of context for the pickle. in some places in North America we hide a small pickle ornament on the Christmas tree, and the first guest to find it gets a small gift (or just bragging rights). I live in NB, Canada and my family has one
13:28 YES. Please do it Uncle Roger.

Actually koreans do put soysauce when we boil Dangmyeon for color, which is a sweet potatoe starch noodle. And some people do put fishsauce(Aekjoet) for meat marinating sauce. And also Gochujang-mayoniase is a real thing in korea mostly when you eat fried squid or fish jerky. Cast iron(Gamasot) is also korean traditional utensil. and all asians do love crispy bit of rice.

The hell you talkin bout. Mayo makes everything better. That tub of gochujang is officially elevated.
You know Uncle Roger really inlove when he puts a girl on the same love level as his rice cooker and MSG. Who knows, might even be more XD
1:16 -- I listened to Uncle Roger. I don't think he said "Stay Private"
Giving Bobby credit for not knowing what the Cheusok holiday is (I don't either 😅) and not having asian cuisine as his focus, he did pretty great. I gained some respect for Bobby Flay with this! But nobody deserves Uncle Roger's love more than Auntie Esther...I'm sure she knows what she's doing! 😍
Supposedly Bobby flay is a wicked cool guy in real life... Unlike Alton brown who I'm reliably informed is a total jerk..But everyone has their bad days.
Bobby Flay does seem like a pretty nice dude
@@InvertedFreeSolo Alton Brown is on record that Iron Chef burned him out and made him an angrier person. There's so many stories of people meeting him in his old Good Eats days and him being a chill, fun but witty sarcastic guy.

Same.

Yessir, round one in the matchup could have the insane battle of Esther VS Ramsey and the winner gets a title higher than what they have.
He would have to learn how to cook first.
Bobby flay isn’t strong in Asian dishes but he’s actually good at gathering flavors together. And can be good at winging it .
yeah but he wings it too much sometimes...and then he wins.
Sounds like me. I never bothered to learn actual traditional dishes, but through experimentations and watching cooks mix certain ingredients together, i am almost always able to make a really tasty dish with pretty much nothing. (Sometimes it goes bad cause i am trying out something that i think won't work, but i have to try it just in case).
