Honestly, this is great. Have not seen tutorial from scratch to finish like this. thank you sir. my basic problem about Sound Engineer is the EQ setting for vocals and drum set
Thank you very much , very helpful to me . I am in charge of sound , lighting and recording coming up in the very very near future actually 8/19/17 will be a crash course for me and then I'll be on my own . Hopefully I'll have my sound guy there at our shows to help me fix my screw ups . Thank you , I've been searching for a good teacher to show me the basics and I've learned a lot here and will be checking all of your videos out . I seem to understand you better then some of the sound guys
You are a easy to understand teacher. I'm preparing for an audition for an audio job at a major theme park and I don't know what "test" they are going to give me....so I am trying to take in as much as I can.
Pretty clear and well organised video. Thanks. It's good that you explain most things. There is still some assumed knowlwedge. eg. "Aux sends". BTW my OCD can't stand when people call them "AUX" when that's an abreviation. It would be like me saying "Oh BTW, AUX is an abbrev".
Hey there, this is great video. Such a simple explanation of the system. I want to show this to newbies to the sound team. Are there more Videos in the topic? #2 /#3? Would be great
C'mon Dave, I thought you read everyone's comments. Where is session #2? This was super helpful. Hoping to see more helpful tips for us beginners from you soon. Cheers from India. 🙂
How Many of all of the comments do you read? We have a preacher that speaks at five different levels. When he speaks quieter like when giving sensitive information could I route him to an alternate channel on the mixer? Could I fine tune all his different levels of speaking with a compressor? What would you do?
Tim751 I have never done sound at a church before but have for a few musicals and plays, in which people sing and talk at different levels depending, and you have to be constantly adjusting. Personally I would be attentive while he talks, and be during the fader up and down. If for a certain tone you need to adjust his tones on the equalizer, set it and tap the EQ button down when needed.
Nice one sir.I just want to record my songs live so it sound at least good.will a compressor and eq give a good sound with my mixer, with built it reverb unit and a amp for foh and a amp for feedback including my two full range speakers?.i knw u are a busy type I would so much appreciate for your feed back.thanks

hey Dave that was really a great tuition... that is my dream but i av not been able to acquire the training about it.. i hope to be great as u are but seriously i will like to contact you for personal training.. thank u
Feedback can often be solved with either a minor drop in the gain of the offending channel, a drop in the high end of the EQ for the channel, making sure a mic isn't getting sound from a speaker in the system or a combination of those.
Thank you Im exactly what you said previous, dedicated, no experience, enthusiastic, passionate, unqualified sound man for our church.
