Nate and Nancy I can't believe the RUclips algorithms took so long to point me in your direction. The easy and relaxed way you tell your story is wonderful. Looking forward to watching you explore. Thank you.
Another great video. Your camera skills and editing are first rate!! IMHO, fish tacos always taste better in Mexico....Now you have me Jonesing for some...ARGHHHHH... Anywhere you are, pay attention to your surroundings. If you dont feel safe, go somewhere you do feel safe. There are kind people everywhere, and punks, too. Don't let the punks win. Get out and live... Again, thank you for your wonderful insights. Take care and happy trails. Chuck in Kentucky 1973 Westy
Down the road from Santispac there are many other beach spots, sure Santispac is beautiful but there are many other beaches, I camped at one (can't remember the name) like 10 minutes south, we were the only ones at the beach.
For sure, we just wanted to see what it was like to camp there. It was a unique experience and we did meet some nice people. Next time though we will be camping at the more remote, empty Concepcion beaches 😁 Nate
Thanks for the update! It had been a while... We enjoy your videos and they always inspire us to have further adventures in our own Westy. I am one who is not comfortable with the idea of going to Mexico, so it is wonderful to see you having a really pleasant experience. Thanks again for another great artistic video!
Yeah it has been a while!! What experience in Mexico did you have that would make you uncomfortable? If it’s just the news or other people who haven’t been either, throw out those opinions!! Baja is pretty mild compared to mainland Mexico so it’s a great start. Thanks so much for watching!! Nate
Any adventure you enjoy and get back home from is a good one. This was a great one, bit surprised considering your heritage you didn't burst into flames in the church tho! Love ya.
Hi Nate & Nancy, Another fabulous video you have made for us all, which makes me just want to jump in my van and go off and travel again! On a side note, i have finally just about finished the restoration on my 1993 VW LT31 Karmann Distance Wide motor-home, which we took away to a local theme park and campsite called Crealy, in Devon here in the UK. The van drove faultlessly and we all had a great time. I popped a quick new video up on my RUclips channel if you fancied seeing it all built, along with the rest of the build of the van. All the best and i am really looking forward to your next instalment. Cheers, Simon.
Hey Simon! The LT31 looks amazing! What a cool platform! Glad you had a great time on your maiden voyage, I am sure that felt great. Thanks for watching and we had a great time in Mexico and can't wait to go back. nate
@@ThatBaldwinLife Thanks buddy, Mexico did look amazing, and it is definitely somewhere you need to experience for yourself to get a real understanding of the people and their culture 🙂
fuel problems are the order of the day. We've been struggling with our fuel system and finally ordered a new fuel pump. I also had a leak, but for me it was coming from one of the fuel injectors, so we also ordered a new fuel injector reseal kit after cobbling it back together. These vans are work but man they get smiles for every mile. Looks like a fabulous trip guys. Congrats, and thanks for the virtual trip. Nice work.
Love these videos! What an experience. Gettin the ol westy ready now to make this trip someday and then ferry over and mainland all the way down. Exploring is in the DNA. 🧬
love your stuff, you tube overland content is always funny if you have done all these routes in Baja, Utah, and Ca. Content requires a story that usually ignores the logistics of the actual route, jumping hundreds of miles from frame to frame as if transported by laser beams.
Thanks! I can see how it looks a little confusing and I should have added something in the voiceover for that. It is still in the same place :) We went from Concepcion (Santispac) to Loreto, then to San Javier. From there we went back through Loreto and stayed at Concepcion again. Basically after San Javier, we headed back north. Thanks for watching and the feedback! nate
It's a mystery to me, why you don't have more followers. I love your videos and the only bad thing I can say, is that my California can't visit the places you can, as we are located in Denmark / Europe.
Thank you. More subscribers/views would always be nice, but we enjoy making videos that hopefully inspire people to get out and explore. If people choose to follow along, that's great. If not, that's great too. We won't put out content just to post. It will need to be something we are proud of. Thanks so much for following along in our travels and get that California out to some remote European places!! nate
I was looking for a trip with Volkswagen and found your video. It is a great video with great camera work, drones, the way you show the car and the city. I am Japanese and would love to travel the world with Volkswagen. It would be great if I could travel like you!
@@ThatBaldwinLife Thanks for your reply, I am restoring this VW which I got last year after 10 years of searching. Once everything is complete, I will start my journey around the world. I hope to see you somewhere sometime :-)) ruclips.net/video/6ia_Oyn249A/видео.html
It is a rooftop antenna from a 2004 Jetta. I made an adapter/base that interfaces with the stock antenna base. Looks better but the range is slightly worse. Old one was smacking around off road a bunch. Nate
We went from mid February to early March. Seemed like a good time to go. We don’t have a real map but I have a thread on TheSamba with the trip report with some map images there. Username on there is thatbaldwinlife. Nate

Wise words there at the end, Nate. Itching to get ourselves down there as well! Looks like it was an awesome time
Hey Winston! Such an amazing place to explore and with your rig, you can venture off down sandy roads more than we can.

Yeah lots of fuel hoses in the Vanagon! Good idea chasing them all down and getting them fixed, you don’t want any fires!

Love the video! This is on my bucket list as well. Do you think a 2WD westy w/o lockers would get around okay? Like on the beaches and stuff?
Thanks! No 4wd or Peloquin needed. Just mind the soft stuff and air down if needed. Go explore!!

Hey guys. What radio antenna are you using? That’s way nearer than the aftermarket telescopic one I’m using

Anyone happen to know how much insurance costs❓
Reach out to Baja Bound. Insurance is based on vehicle and length of time in Mexico.
