In November this year I bought a 2000 F-150 7700 with 4x4 option, smid plates, trailer towing option, low transfer case, locking rear differential, and 5.4L V8 and it is a BEAST in the snow. What a difference between it and the truck in this video which has no teeth at all.

Between my wife and I we've had 3 of these trucks. I love them. All have had over 250,000 rough miles with lifts before selling. The only thing I cant stand is nobody seams to make drop down steering components for the lifts. Have you had any luck finding any?

@@WS1_AUTOS_N_STUFF same here man all of our trucks see a lot of mud and heavy towing and they just don't quit. Yeah my buddy welded and idler arm from a Duramax in mind one time and it may be lasted a little bit longer but not by much

I probably should have, I should get a portable pump. I get worried about the hidden larger rocks 🪨 some are pretty jagged. My wheels aren’t in their new state anymore so I’m little less concerned 🤷🏻♂️ hopefully I’ll be getting back up there soon to watch my tires go cross eyed 😵💫 thanks for checking video out👍 I’m thinking if I can do some limit straps on front for 4xing, that might help with lifting the front up and changing tie rod alignment 🤷🏻♂️
😂 lots more toe in 🤣🤮 lets say dont buy moog . And 4wd with the angle of control arms doesnt help either, i want to say i feel like the tie rods aren’t in a simular pitch as the control arms making it only aligned at ride height so bouncing up and down is constantly fighting alignment . It affects my braking on pavement also. I’m sorry you had to witness that and thanks for watching

I have some tractor chains I need to mock up for truck but going to 40’s hopefully🤷🏻♂️ but probably would’ve done better if I could do more than 4L & 1st ⚙️ and front E-lock the snow pack from snowmobiles and tire’s wanting to toe in acted like a blender, plus not airing down🤷🏻♂️ I’ve got 4:88’s to put in & looking into hydraulic steering or SAS🤘 those are some of my excuses 😝 But overall the tires did awesome. In this video im running stock 3.55’s . I currently have 3.73’s that i swapped from one of my crew cabs . I’m hoping to install my 4.88’s from Yukon but ive been busy or my shop is too cold 🥶 but luckily i dont have to take my truck apart and wait to finish since i have the other axles.
@@The101Point1 totally 👍 i had to do this in 4L 1st gear , sometimes could do 2nd but got trans a lil warm for that. I do have a shift kit and tune to help
Before i did this video i put in all new steering components . Pretty much once i put it in 4wd the (moog) idler arm crapped out . And being in 4wd the the idler didnt hold the linkage where its supposed to be , toeing it in making the front suspension lift then making the linkage shorter ish thus toeing in more. I picked up a better idler arm finally after probably 8 of the moogs . It took me forever to find one with the bolt/pivot point that went all the way through instead of a inclosed one, not talking about where it connects to the cross link but the part connected to frame. 4wd is scary sometimes! My pitman is being a pain as well
It’s been slightly changed since but there it’s headman shorty headers with 2.5” & high flow cats that were totally worn out, and meet at y change to 3” single to 5” single 🤷🏻♂️
How were your lower control arms so arched? I have the same lift and same truck and 3” lift keys and my lower control arms are horizontal to the ground. How are yours so far down
You have the keys but are they adjusted up? If you have 3” keys and if they’re cranked up all the way you’d be maxed out and riding on your limit bump stops on upper control arms I believe. So I’m guessing you have about 2” of threads on the torsion adjustment bolts left 🤷🏻♂️ I am curious myself now. The angle of the arms is one of the causes for my steering issue while in 4x and life of idler arms. Thanks for the comment and checking out video 👍
@@WS1_AUTOS_N_STUFF I think I might have swapped the torsion bars to the wrong sides while installing the lift therefore twisting it the wrong way thinking that the 3” lift is a hole so it reps the spring in it. So if I swap them to the other side it should work because the spring would be going the correct way
@@thomasderrick1569 if they’re both pointing towards the center of truck and that lil nub is on down side for the bolts to push up, should be right. I’m thinking there’s only one way you can do it 🤷🏻♂️
I’m currently running the stock 3:55’s with limited slip, 9.75 rear , I have some Yukon 4:88’s in my garage to put in it the next week or so, I’m also trying to find a E-lock for the front end I did do a shift kit and sct tuner. In the video I was running 1st in 4L 👍

Not hatin....but I gotta be honest. If you'd had a Falken wildpeak at3w or Toyo open country at3 you prolly would not have had as much issue...mud tires just aren't a good choice for deep snow.

Zone 6” suspension & 3” body 👍 you’ll want to get bigger blocks for rear because kit comes with 3” that stacks with stock 2” , so I’d get a 6” so you can do just 1 block and it’ll be more level

Off-road monster-m12’s .I had to buy adapters . I’d just look at wheels, then the ones you like may have a blank bolt pattern available, I use custom offsets, but there’s more wheels available in 6x135 and maybe 5x5.5

When I was looking for wheels all I could find where $3,000plus for just wheels🤯 the wheel tire packages on custom offsets do have good discounts. Some nock off $300 on tires👍 it’ll say before selecting wheel on how much you’ll save with packages 📦 I am a ambassador for them too but more like a “who sent you” 🤷🏻♂️ anyway thanks for checking out the video 🤘

It’s cutting through packed snow ❄️ snowmobile trail, and my idler arm is making it pigeon toed in 4wd so it blends instead of just going forward 🤷🏻♂️ was super fun though
Thinking I’m going the solid axle route or hydraulic steering🤷🏻♂️ besides trying to grind through the snowmobile packed trail , I was pretty impressed, but I agree they’re not a first choice for a snow mainly tire . The trail hogs though are really good 👍 were on the other truck that went and everything else I own thanks for checking out video 👍 hoping to get different set to test this winter

Yah , I should’ve just put it in Drive so my transmission shifted up and down constantly 🤣 I did shift up in beginning because I was hoping I didn’t need to run high rpms but 🤷🏻♂️it was fun 👍

Mud ties suck in snowy trails. Get a set and snow chains and put them on the rear wheels. Or get two sets and chain up all four!

What driveshaft do you have?
They’re stock, I had to weld the front back together and put two pieces of angle iron on it

My moog idler arm and pitman arm on my Tahoe only lasted 10k

@@WS1_AUTOS_N_STUFF I've got 2010 3 valve I just purchased. I like the electric fan, runs smoother, and the little bit better gas mileage! 4 valves are even better! With a super charger!! Ultimately I would like 2012 to 14 with the 5.0, or newer! The 5.0 is the best v8 ford has out right now IMO!
@@None_YA_biznass they should’ve redid the 460 with c.o.p. And actual power not just a gas guzzler 😆
