    In November this year I bought a 2000 F-150 7700 with 4x4 option, smid plates, trailer towing option, low transfer case, locking rear differential, and 5.4L V8 and it is a BEAST in the snow. What a difference between it and the truck in this video which has no teeth at all.

      Before i did this video i put in all new steering components . Pretty much once i put it in 4wd the (moog) idler arm crapped out . And being in 4wd the the idler didnt hold the linkage where its supposed to be , toeing it in making the front suspension lift then making the linkage shorter ish thus toeing in more. I picked up a better idler arm finally after probably 8 of the moogs . It took me forever to find one with the bolt/pivot point that went all the way through instead of a inclosed one, not talking about where it connects to the cross link but the part connected to frame.

    • @WS1_AUTOS_N_STUFF
      @WS1_AUTOS_N_STUFF  3 года назад

      You have the keys but are they adjusted up? If you have 3” keys and if they’re cranked up all the way you’d be maxed out and riding on your limit bump stops on upper control arms I believe. So I’m guessing you have about 2” of threads on the torsion adjustment bolts left 🤷🏻‍♂️ I am curious myself now.

      Thinking I’m going the solid axle route or hydraulic steering🤷🏻‍♂️ besides trying to grind through the snowmobile packed trail , I was pretty impressed, but I agree they’re not a first choice for a snow mainly tire . The trail hogs though are really good 👍 were on the other truck that went and everything else I own thanks for checking out video 👍 hoping to get different set to test this winter

      🤣 I try to to take lil extra gas so I can enjoy it and not stress about fuel ⛽️ it actually does pretty good 👍 I’d say on average 12mpg between chill driving and hot Rodin

      Yah , I should’ve just put it in Drive so my transmission shifted up and down constantly 🤣 I did shift up in beginning because I was hoping I didn’t need to run high rpms but 🤷🏻‍♂️it was fun 👍

    This is embarrassing. I taking a stock height truck threw deeper snow and did 10 times better than this 🤦🏻‍♂️

      I’m sure you have . I have too . As a matter of fact, a stock followed me up there …… well halfway and couldn’t make it any farther without a winch, and brand new tires 🛞 🤷🏻‍♂️ idler arms are the red headed step child of steering components 🤦🏽

    Dude, that thing runs strong! Must be the 4.6, I love ford's, but the 4.6 is a strong runner compared to the 5.4.

      Thanks 👍 It’s actually the 5.4 😉 it’s a remanufacture from power train products! Has held up pretty good, going on 9 years.I just need to get a locally custom tune instead of the E-tune it has

      @@WS1_AUTOS_N_STUFF kick ass! Wouldn't expect that outta the 5.4!! Even cooler! Now I know where to get my replacement from! Good luck on a new tune for it! If you are on Facebook there is a group specifically for the 5.4 3 valve, lot of smart helpfull people on there. It's 5.4 Triton 3v Mods and Upgrades, I know yours is a 2 valve but still relevant

      @@WS1_AUTOS_N_STUFF I've got 2010 3 valve I just purchased. I like the electric fan, runs smoother, and the little bit better gas mileage! 4 valves are even better! With a super charger!! Ultimately I would like 2012 to 14 with the 5.0, or newer! The 5.0 is the best v8 ford has out right now IMO!

      @@None_YA_biznass they should’ve redid the 460 with c.o.p. And actual power not just a gas guzzler 😆
