I totally agree with your comment. I've had cats in the past twenty five years, and if I fed them garbage food, they would have renal failure. Whenever I fed my pets better food, they lived longer
I have 1 chihuahua mix and he doesn’t eat much thank goodness but did cost over $300 for vaccines plus the cost of a neuter when he’s old enough. Plus I have 2 cats. Cat littler $40 a month and cat food about $15 a month. Having a pet is not cheap
I have 1 American Pit bull terrier. Her food and treats cost around $150.00 a month. 1 bottle of shampoo last almost a year at $14.00 a bottle. She's worth it because shes a family member with lots of love for the whole family.
I have neighbors who have two very large dogs. They eat the same thing as the humans. Every morning and night they give the dogs exactly what they eat, plus kibble. The dogs are healthy and strong.

I am low income and can afford to feed my pets. I shop at a discount store and get monthly coupons. I use the coupons to buy the pet food and am feeding them a good quality food. The food would normally cost 65 a bag, but at the discount store it is 55 a bag. With the coupons, I can get that same food for 50 a bag, sometimes less, depending on the coupon. Those low end dog foods you are showing are not really food. They are corn and soy filled junk food. Check the ingredients. The Dogs poop out most of the food and you need to feed them more of the junkie stuff. I feed my my dogs a higher quality food, so they do not to eat as much.
