I Peter & Yen! Another great video to watch. Very informative. I bet you both have done your homework well. Sharing the history very confidently Well done! Love watching you both eating local foods.
Thank you ❤️ it's been a super fun way for us to learn about the history together by researching the sites to understand the back story. Sometimes Yen tells me it's very tricky though because of all the conflicting information.
Hi Peter and Yen, I like watching your videos a lot. I even played your videos when I was doing housework as the background sound. Somehow your videos give me relaxing feeling. ♥️♥️💜💜💖
This was indeed your BEST TURKISH VLOG!! 😍🥰🇹🇷💖✨ Great combination of Travel, Food, Scenery etc...🇹🇷💖✨ Supporting you guys all the way!! Thanks Peter and Yen! 😎
This one might be my favorite Turkey vid so far… had it all.. Memorable quotes… “No I don’t think that’s right. Sorry. Just point to the picture 🤣🤣.” “So much good flavor in one little wrap.” “ I don’t know who you were kidding when you said…🤣🤣 (had no doubt you’d eat a bunch).” “ Life changing bite.” Suspense and awe… wish we could’ve seen Peter’s initial reaction at the Sphendone Wall…and was soooooo rooting for you guys to find the lone seat!!!! …and the food… the mackerel wrap and the food from the pide shop of your dreams were the two things I’d want to try most from all the food you showed so far… the pomegranate pistachio Turkish delight looked tasty too.. Excellent job! Keep ‘em coming!! 🦃😁😁😁
😁 I think it was about the last video where we started getting really comfortable traveling around istanbul and getting used to the time zone difference. The time zone really screwed us up for the first couple of weeks. Felt like we were going to sleep around 6pm every night hahaha. So on this one we were able to see more and be doing things at a more regular pace without feeling mega sleepy hahaha. Glad you enjoyed it though, though istanbul is awesome the later videos show such a cool side of turkey that was just incredible to see... still no bird though 😅🤤
I'm just gonna jump in here and say it was mainly Peter that struggled with the time zone change and sleeping so early though i dunno if it was 6pm early 😂😂 but yes Mr donkey haha 🥰 long way away though vlog-wise! We've met some pretty cute animals this trip.. Peter was mega excited yesterday with the sea turtles 😁 and the regular stray cats and dogs are so cute here 🥰 hope you've been well 🙂 we're always looking forward to your new videos ❤️❤️❤️🙏
@@PeterandYen ...ok, sea turtles....AWWWESOME!!!! Aren't they sooo dang cool??? The other day I saw a snake on the beach and I wanted to write you Peter...just wanted to write "SNAKE!!!!!" When you guys get to Hawaii, after you have your poke, I'll tell you a sure place to see turtles on the beach, and swim with them... Are you guys certified to dive? If so, have you guys done a night dive with manta rays? If not, you must must must put it on your bucket list! It is one of the most otherworldly, incredible, indescribable experiences... have to have to have to do it!!! Not sure if you do this Peter (or if it'll help)...whenever I change time zones, right after checking in, I go for a run... Not only do I get to see the area and scout places to eat, but it seems to help reset my internal clock. I have no scientific evidence to back this up, but it seems to help. Looking forward to the upcoming vlogs... In a future vlog I hope to see Peter activate the nerd in Yen again... Quite entertaining to see you take Yen's brain into nerd alert mode 😁😁😁🚨🚨🚨🤓🤓🤓
Hahahaha was buzzing about that all day. The manta rays sounds incredible. Neither of us can swim 🏊♂️ very well and aren't dive certified 😂 i know, I know... work in progress shall we say. But for the manta ray experience hmmm might have to learn. Snakes r soooo cool! Seen heaps of them before 😁 when it's just me and Yen I activate the inner nerd all the time cause I'm more reckless but yen likes to stick to the books 😂 we are very Ying and yang in many areas. Dunno about this run thing though sounds like too much exercise 😂😂😂 but yes the first thing I do is go out for a big walk and try get myself back. After all this traveling I do feel like my navigation has improved a lil.
6:20 And the most amazing thing about those very, very heavy obelisks' are that the Romans transported them all the way from Egypt were they had 'taken' them from ancient temples. A few of these confiscated ancient Egyptian obelisks are also in Rome. The most famous probably is one that stands in front of St Peter's Basilica.
😯 so much of egypts treasues are scattered in other locations around the world. Yen in particular really loves ancient Egyptian history. It is truly fascinating how their civilisation lived though especially considering what the pyramids looked like in their prime not to mention all the obelisks
That opening shot of Yen with the cat is wonderful! Love it! What an awesome itinerary for today! We love balik durum and balik ekmek, probably would go with ekmek if we had to choose. That is exactly what Lieles says every time we pass by a historical building. Love the cisterns, truly it is awesome. Aqueducts are incredible, awesome inventions by the Romans, we have so many in SPain, the most famous one here is the Aqueduct of Segovia, hope you come see it one day 😉 Peter you sound and look so excited, it is awesome seeing you like this!!!
Hahaha I love that you're trying to get us over to Spain now 🤣 Before turkey Yen was probably more a dog person but after turkey I think she's been converted to a cat person 😂 they are just adorable here wonderful personalities and so so cute 😍
I'm a sucker when it comes to Turkish delight. I just simply cannot resist. I think I buy a whole shop 🤣. You're in Turkish delight haven Peter 😋. We are the same, if we like a certain restaurant we keeps coming back for it. We love Yoshinoya in Japan. It's like a low cost, convenience meals but yummy that open almost 24hrs, some in big city and town do open 24hrs. We usually went there for breakfast and late might meals.
What a smart guy to calm the masses from being upset. Good for him! Turkish delights are so different there from the ones you see outside of Turkey. Turkish food just gets even better when you are in Turkey. What an awesome find! Yes, the Blue Mosque has been under construction forever. Pide and lahmacun...salivating guys!! hahaha Peter keep pointing at the picture hahaha We totally know the feeling, absolutely in love with Pide!! You said it great Yen! Sometimes Turkish people talk to us in Turkish and the thing that shocks me is Yen understands and replies them in Turkish 😂 I'm like woah you gone next level 😅 Hmmmm I am an absolute sucker for aqueducts and Cisterns... need to Google the ones you recommend they sound super cool
I just love your videos and better now that it's the weekend, catchup on these two I haven't watched! Ah right to the food here as we'd expect haha! Oh wow that fish now that's fresh and cooked in front of you like wow! Wish we could smell the food through the screen! Yeah being amongst those columns that thousands of years ago would have been crazy the aquaduct! Yeah so much ancient history there, good and bad no doubt! Always impressed with the amount of information you provide! Wow that spice bazaar there! Yeah we knew Peter couldn't resist the delights in that store! Yeah that other food with the words you couldn't say Peter, wow that did look yummy! Looked a bit like steak and eggs pizza! But yes super great job on this!
The food in general in turkey has been really tasty 😁👍 but most definitely the history is one of the main reasons for the trip and we're glad to be learning and seeing as much as we have been. It's been so fascinating 😯
Yesss tart us off with the street cats!!! Honestly y’all’s brains must be full by now I don’t know how y’all memorize all the travel facts and names of all the places 😂 and that but bar things sounds so good 🤤

Well done Episode, I really very much enjoy this it. We went to Istanbul in 2019, the Blue Mosque was under renovation, so not able to go in. The Theodosius Cistern was free but did not have those laser lights. The Turkish Pizza looks so yummy
You guys did an awesome job in this video. I am planning a trip to Istanbul and have found several hidden gems during my research. This video has cowered a few of those very nicely. Well done guys, you Rock! I am new to RUclips Vlog world, I believe this is what an awesome Vlog should look like.
Thank you for the kind words! We made a ton of videos from Istanbul so hopefully you'll enjoy them too and find something helpful for your trip. Hope you have an awesome time! 🙂🙌
Yen, I love the background and history that you tell us about what you are seeing or visiting! I am guessing there is a lot of research that goes into your presentation! And you are not using notes and Peter is filming you in a single take! 👏👏👏 The fish wrap does sound it would taste great! I noticed that the price was per wrap instead of the meal for the both of you!
Yens getting super good at researching and bringing the knowledge to life as we see these amazing sights. She's even getting a lot of these stories on her first go... sometimes I stumble on some particular facts and it can take me a couple of tries. Thanks for noticing Ray, Yen will be very happy 😊
