there is subtle doctoring in the picture by VOX. just one detail: President Aliyev on 5:06 min says Karabakh - its Nagorno (mountainous part - russian langugae) and also its lowlands has belonged to Azerbaijan and is part of Azerbaijan. But the subtitles- the translation just says "Karabakh is Azerbaijan" as Aliyev saying. There is a big difference. Karabakh as a whole is a (geographic name) toponym developed not 100 or 200 years ago, But Karabakh as a region of Azerbaijan has been there for several hundred years. Nagorno is only mountainous part of it. So Mountainous Karabakh cannot be a historic land of Armenians as a toponym, which is why Armenians invented a new term Artsakh (instead Nagorno-Karabakh) unknown in any of the world maps of the last several hundred years. In order artificially to solve this problem, now, in recent one or two years, they they have come up with a new term - "lowland Artsakh" to denote the areas outside Nagorno Karabakh, which they had occupied 30 years ago. These 7 districts outside N.K. , purely Azerbaijani towns where 99 percent of the population were Azeris. Armenians then drove 700 thousand people from those towns. So until channels like VOX will not give the whole truth, it will be hard to make peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Some strange explanation for the war. 1. Armenians have always lived in Nagorno-Karabakh. But in 1995 Armenia occupied 7 regions of Azerbaijan as a buffer zone, in which Azerbaijanis and Russians have always lived. 1 million Azerbaijanis and half a million Russians were expelled from there. 2. The UN Security Council has adopted resolutions 4 times demanding the liberation of Azerbaijani lands, and Russia, as a permanent member, also voted for this. Armenia itself did not recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. 3. In connection with the above, Russia supplied new military equipment to Armenia, provided that it did not appear in Nagorno-Karabakh. Russia, Azerbaijan and Turkey kept a watchful eye on this, so only old Soviet weapons remained in Nagorno-Karabakh. 4. The Armenian army did not officially participate in this war because it had a collective security agreement with Russia. In case of participation of official Yerevan in the war, it would be the aggressor and all obligations of Russia were canceled.

there is subtle doctoring in the picture by VOX. just one detail: President Aliyev on 5:06 min says Karabakh - its Nagorno (mountainous part - russian langugae) and also its lowlands has belonged to Azerbaijan and is part of Azerbaijan.

An important moment that needs pointing out;
Azerbaijan NEVER, not in 1990s not today had a problem with ethnic Armenians living in Azerbaijan as Azerbaijani citizens. There are still around 100.000 Armenians living in Azerbaijan.
While Armenians NEVER wanted to be neighbors with Azerbaijanis in Karabakh, they ethnically cleansed the region from Azerbaijanis. And you will not find an ethnic Azerbaijani living in Armenia today (well, except for maybe as a POW in an Armenian prison).
Azerbaijan is a multicultural and tolerant country when Armenia is a mono-ethnic country that can’t stand to live side by side with others if it has a chance not to.

Armenians have been occupying Azerbaijani territories for 30 years. He settled there. Azerbaijan demanded its rights and liberated Karabakh from occupation. Armenians bombed non-war cities. Children, the elderly, mothers, fathers died. The children were orphaned. Families were left childless. But you did not show any of them in the shared video. Armenian lobbies say that Karabakh belongs to Armenians and convince the world of this lie. The world does not want to see the truth. Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan !

What wishful thinking lol. This war just taught us that oil-rich dictators can basically do whatever they want without any sanctions.
@@alenvaneci he has a good point, hatred fails
Russians never lived in Karabakh or bordering provincess. Only some russians lived in Baku.
@@emilturangi7145 Is your head all right? All Armenia and Azerbaijan were part of Russia. Azerbaijan has never had statehood at all. These were nomadic tribes in Persia. All Azerbaijanis were created by Russians.

So before opening your mouth think a bit. Russians never respected other nations history, and no one will respect theirs. Remember that.
@@emilturangi7145 You tell these tales to someone who does not know history. At the beginning of 1801, the ambassadors of the Talysh, Baku and Cuban khanates arrived at the court of Emperor Alexander I in order to negotiate the conditions for joining Russia. The fact of the accession of Eastern Georgia to Russia in the same 1801 played an important role in the success of the negotiations.
On September 12, 1801, the Tsar's manifesto was promulgated on the annexation of the Kartli-Kakhetian kingdom to Russia. The Georgian province was formed, at the head of which was the commander-in-chief of the troops and the civilian ruler. This province also included a part of the territory of Azerbaijan - Gazakh, Borchali and Shamshadil sultans, which were in vassal dependence on the Kartli-Kakhetian kingdom and together with the latter were annexed

"It wasn't a fair fight" I mean, its war. What do you expect?
What he means by that is that Azerbaijanian technology was far more superior. And Azerbaijan outnumbered Armenian soldiers by a large margajn
General rule of warfare: You don't want a fair fight.
He meant that one side was much stronger than the other. Azerbaijan had a bigger and better equipped army than armenia, therefore armenia had no chance of winning a war with azerbaijan. Armenian leaders knew this very well, their only hope in case of war was that russia would intervene either by diplomatic pressure or by military intervention which they had done in the past in Georgia. They failed to realize however that russia is a declining power and has lost ground in belarus, kyrgyzstan and now here.
@@Zyllax_Gaming ya same could be said about the war in the 90’s where Armenia crushed Azerbaijan back when there were no drones. The game changed when Azerbaijan had access to drones. If Azerbaijan didn’t have drones Armenia would have had a much greater percentage of victory
@Beh Meh I mean it’s not a lie. Even with drones that Azerbaijan had. Armenia lost 5000 compared to Azerbaijan which lost more than double not including the 50k injured they had
It is very simple: if Armenians did not rely on Russia and wished to get some parts of Azerbaijan, none of these two countries would suffer so much. Definitely, Armenia is to be blamed for all the tragedies the two nations suffered for the last 30 years.
5:09 Putin looks bored.
It is notable to mention that this is only the second time a nation surrendered after WW2. Surrender requires total dominance, and this means that the military gap between the nations is getting wider. This gap of militaristic power is getting wider in many parts of the world. This may sadly mean more atrocious battles in the future.
A big and shameful one after world war 2 was Pakistan army surrendering to
India- Bangladesh (mukti bahini) joint forces.
93000 pak army shamelessly surrendered in 1971 after a heinous genocide of 3 million bengali ethnic population.
@@peace163 wasn't the genocide committed by Pakistan? So how is it shameful that they surrendered? Didnt it stop the genocide so it should be seen as a good thing? ( not the genocide, the surrendering)
True, keep in mind the war did last only 44 days. Normally you need to fight 6 years to reach this kind of ending. Armenia did not have an weak army.
