Falcon 9 launches the first two WorldView Legion satellites

  • A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the Maxar 1 mission, the first two of six planned WorldView Legion satellites, from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, on 2 May 2024, at 18:36 UTC (11:36 PDT). Falcon 9’s first stage (B1061) previously supported 19 missions: Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, CRS-23, IXPE, Transporter-4, Transporter-5, Globalstar-2 FM15, EROS C-3, Korea 425 and 9 Starlink missions. Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on Landing Zone 4 (LZ-4) at Vandenberg Space Force Base.

    Do you know if the launch vehicle would have been visible in low Earth orbit around 9:00 p.m. on May 2nd?
