I'd suggest installing some security cables on the TV in case it falls for some reason.
Chances of it supporting the TV for a significant amount of time after mount failure are slim, but it most likely will give you enough warning to clear the fall area and/or get the TV supported.
+EnlightenedAce yeah I didn't want to show it because this is not a recommended install under any circumstances (easier to just say don't do it) but with some simple straps its was to safeguard the TV against slipping out of the bottom of the mount and falling.

Security cables / chain was my first thought in all of this - especially with the kids. The left-hand edge of the TV is exposed too and is susceptible to being caught when someone walks past it. I would put a padded barrier / blocker / something just to the left of the LHS so that it takes any knocks instead of the TV. It may be tough to make it fit in with the aesthetics of the room but you can never be too safe (owner of a wall-mounted 60" Samsung 4K with 2 young kids).

Is it ju st me or does the TV seem mounted slightly too high on the wall? i like my eyes to be slighly above the midpoint of the monitor im looking at. with this, it seems to be below.. that would be distracting to me. Maybe the mount and pivot and face down a bit more?

Computers are a lot more resilient these days than back in the 90s and early 2000s. Hell, my WiFi card came with a magnet mount for attaching it to your PC case and it's been there for ~2 years with no problems.

The one thing I find interesting is how you put a "super duper disclaimer" about how it could actually kill you if it were to fall on you because none of the equipment was designed to be mounted at that angle... and then you make it into a play room for your very small and very squishy children.
I know the disclaimer was more for liability reasons, but it still is a little odd xD
The disclaimer was probably just requested by Samsung and his other sponsors for the build because they don't want lots of people doing this then suing them if it does fall (unlikely but why risk it if you don't have to?) and the equipment used isn't rated for that sort of angle or whatever. If he's letting them in there and is lying there himself I would be be willing to bet that in reality it is very securely fastened to the wall.
For example, did you notice that he hung from the mount before mounting the TV? Linus isn't a big guy, but that is a fair test.
totally! A few seconds hanging a heavy weight is probably comparable to many months of a slightly less weight.
The disclaimer was for during the mounting process. It's dangerous to mount a tv like that. but once it's securely up there it's not going anywhere.

I'm surprised nobody has made a mount that covers the 45 to 90 degree mounting options. I mean it'd be insanely expensive with having to undergo much more design work and testing but it'd be the only one to guarantee safety at that angle so it'd completely corner a market niche so some people would pay for it.
I bet it's less an issue of R&D or cost, and more an issue of no one wanting to take the risk. I'm sure it's perfectly safe, but by marketing a product as being able to do that they open themselves up to lawsuits when people are dumb.

It's not like those people that wall mount their TVs halfway up the wall or above the fireplace like they intend to stand while watching it. Really a TV doesn't need to be mounted on the wall in most situations, since a sensible height for watching while sitting would look silly, which is why they make TV cabinets.

This can be a perfect place to set up surround sound... Well the subwoofer might not work well in such tiny environment, but besides that, I think the 5.1 surround system would work pretty well here.

CX Music They can use a smaller subwoofer. Just in case sometimes there's not enough bass going on. Redirecting the subwoofer sound to the front speakers might not be that good. Actually, I consider it better to just let 1 speaker to do all the bass rather than 5 in such small room.

As a side note, HDR could mean ANYTHING in terms of video quality. It's an image or video format taken by a High Dynamic Range camera, which outputs content that is pre-layered for photo and video editing, so different elements can be manipulated more easily. Lighting is one of the elements!
But technically, it doesn't mean the footage is any better if it's not altered to be better. It does take up a LOT more HDD space. I'm sure Linus is well aware of this (I'm sure he knows a lot more about it than I do.) but just for anyone who is unfamiliar. The concept of watching something in HDR makes little sense, since it's a format for pre-editing. Everything you get should be post editing, and rendered through a codex to shrink the video files, and combine those layers into a single layered video.

No need if it's a pure gaming rig. Xpadder and an Xbox controller to control the mouse movement. Or, it could run Steam which has controller support. With voice commands too, you really don't need a keyboard or mouse.
