League of Legends has been running professional tournaments for almost 15 years now. But, with time and increasing popularity, the developers have had to step in and make more and more specific rules to make sure everything is up to a certain standards. Most rules make clear sense, while others leave players wondering why they even exist.
Today we're talking specifically about those kinds of rules.

If there is one thing I will remember from this video is that there is a farming game being played in pro (farming simulator?)

Bad news about LoL, sir Nicolai:
According to theScore esport, LoL is so lonely due to limited communication in-game thanks to LoL players' toxicity

Lmao

Hah, got em!

imagine the commentator yelling “penta point”
😂😂😂 that would be hilarious
I#ve thought of the same. "First Point"

An ally has been pointed
He pointed him so hard his unborn kids felt that!
These tournament rules will kill the viewers and more and more people will start watching stream-alongs. Especially the player name and Nickname rules is literally against gamer culture. I would literally have no clue who they are talking about if they would use these players' real names.
These tournament rules will point* the viewers and more and more people will start watching stream-alongs.
@@tavla123 haha
It has less to do with the country/Riot and more to do that this is an official Asian games tournament that is being broadcasted on television. These rules only apply to the broadcast on live television in China, this is not controlled by Riot. It's the same rule that applies to any Olympic or Asian games sport where you have to refer to the player/athlete by their real name.
I watched the Korean broadcast for the Asian games and they were referring to players by their in-game names, e.g. Faker. Please do not spread misinformation.
They have already implemented it. If you’re watching Asian Games, all players are now using their real name as their in-game id
@@no.4779 like I said, it's a rule that applies to all sports in the Olympics and Asian games and it's a rule that is only applied for the Asian games which is not a Riot tournament and has it's own set of rules. For worlds and other Riot tournaments the players will use their usual in-game names.
I was referring to the actual casting. The Chinese castors on television are not allowed to refer to players by their in-game names, but must refer to their real names. However, the Korean casters can still refer to players with their in game names as it's not being broadcasted on national television.
I feel like they could say "knocked out" or "defeated" instead of kills. Points in most sports is used for first-to-however-many-points wins, which gives off the wrong idea.
Why not frags
"an ally has been pointed"
this will slowly start to push people away from being interested in anything for league . tho thats the least of riots problems people are already getting fed up with the company and game itself as well
thanks china, we can't have red blood in the game, we can't have skulls/skeletons in the game, we can't have swears in the game, such a nice country
The Chinese overlords are interfering with everything, but remember, Riot games is owned by a Chinese company, so they must bend over backwards to appease them at all costs.
Mass surveillance and control
but degeneracy are allowed xd
just check the recent exclusive chroma on lol for china
weird country
Don’t forget the lame bs Skins. Imagine Ahri etc Skins if Riot would Not be owned by China. 😔
tha'ts how Winnie the Pooh likes it
justice for the discrimination against crocs 😔😔😔
So, no more casters yelling "Faker! What was that!?" Disappointing. This is the rule that bothers me. I hope it's temporary while competing in China and will be reverted when worlds is hosted in other countries.
it's temporary. Only applies to Asian games for TV broadcast in China, which is not a Riot tournament. Korean cast is still using in game names.
I hope they will call players by character color xD@@sdfja3iu234j

RED RED! What was that?!
Eh you’re not suppose to smoke indoors in any work place it’s a law common in most places in general.
Love your videos! They help me fall asleep. I have watched it multiple times already!
There's too many rules that they have to follow and thus for me it feels like they have no personality. I couldn't care less about an individual LoL pro. At this point they're just like expert NPC's playing the game ... they should be able to express feelings/emotions and even be toxic at times to make the scene more interesting. That's just my take on it. Right now they all look like robots
Thats China's dream for its citizens. They want NPC's
Wait, where is his “Hey guys, Nicolai here” 😢
It has since been retired 😔
Are there rules written on other phrases you may not use? Pretty sure tiaman square or Uyghur would be insta perma ban in the asian league...
Im proud of the fact that i havent spent a dime on League ever since Tencent took over. Every move Riot has done the last couple of years just further tells me that decision was 100% the right call. Im convinced Riot is abusing the monopoly they have (since its their game its their rules, no matter how unfair) further and further each year. People cant speak freely anymore, chinese teams get preferancial treatment, while Riots acting like a woke company in the west for publicity, they oftentimes show their real face (and its not beautiful). This will become so much more worse over the next couple of years up to a point where Riot will be used as a propaganda tool towards the west just like TikTok. Just like Blizzard with their Taiwan incident. Its scary how blind the west is because its a uncomftable truth, we all love these cheap and honestly nowadays high quality products from China, our phones (whoops, another scandal that our data has been scraped and given to the chinese government for social engineering), their games, tik tok. Its all so comftable, what are a couple hundred thousand (1,3 million) Uighurs in concentration camps in comparison to these wonderful things. I mean, concentration camps just have a bad reputation thanks to a failed Austran Painter, am i right?...
Im lowkey concerned cause while the internet is connecting people all arround the globe, its original purpose of connecting is slowly getting turned into a cultural warfare and when it hits it wont be fun.
lol years ago in CS 1.6 tournaments players were popping all kind of crap
i think this is a great video i just dont agree on the point made regarding the raise of the miniumum age requiement in LEC, i'd much rather see a good prospect play in an ERL for another year and seeing some LEC orgs operate at a net positive instead of the other way around. Also an higher income for the org could mean better non tier 1 player development
last seconds of video...sad memories
the video was not only about league of legends, so maybe correct the video title. but it was very fun, I like the smooth transitions between topics you do, makes the video entertaining all the time. it's still unbelievable you keep improving! :)
It's a title not a description, and it was about a league of legends tournament not league of legends like you're saying in your comment so maybe correct your comment :)
@@AliHassan-mk6jp your comment sounds ai generated for some reason?
@@kaitek666 I don't even know what to respond to this, it's not since it seems like you're asking if it is, and I honestly can't be bothered to keep up with chatgbt and all the fear mongering around AI. edit: if you say this also looks ai generated I swear to god
@@AliHassan-mk6jp It does lmao, stop chattng like AI bot XD
@@psychokuca302 It wasn't for conversation, it was a correction of how stupid his logic was and yeah of course talking formally would look like AI when everyone is brain rotted nowadays.
Bruh if they can set up that they play on patch 13.12, they can make a retro game mode where we can play on lets say 3.10 patch
They probably can, but they won't 😔.
Thanks for the info!
you can't use keria like that man at the end man
They didn't let him wear his lucky shrek crocs :'(
this is such a gamer moment
a moment of all time for sure
What do you mean you didn't download the tournament client!?
Nah, bro. Sry... too busy 'n shiet...
A ton of this makes no sense. Even the age restiction change. Its not like having the team be 18 instead of 17 will change that you are advertising stuff to an audience that includes under age people. And it won't change that these players can't use the products. You barely have an argument about having a 17 yr old advertising adult products because he's a player on an esports team, not the team sponsor rep. And even if you make the argument that he can't legally use the product and therefore the sponsor will not sign because everyone needs to use it or something, just exclude the underage kids and let them get their start. Its trying to avoid a boomer mental explosion or something, but even so, it doesn't make sense from even that standpoint.
the streams never coming back init
The idea crosses my mind every once in a while
I love how ohnepixel just shows up randomly in videos nowadays
But fr how could he play with snus that stuff blows one away how could he concentrate
It would seem that's where they gain their abilities
Inagine the casters shouting "PENTAPOINTS! PENTAPOINTS!"
ENEMY PENTAPOINTS!, sounds awful lol
😂😂😂
"an ally has been pointed"
I kneww that...... that crocks are too Overpowered
Can't wait to hit my fellow summoners with fluffy pillows for extra points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously riot, keep yourself safe.
Maybe tobacco and vape companies could be good looking sponsors like in f1. Imagine T1 Marlboro, C9 Rothmas, Camel Mad Lions, Wiip FNC
I can already imagine the issue this could generate... they will be accepting sponsors from tobacco and vape companies... but the players themselves are prohibited from doing it? Doesn't seem right to me.
@@Levi_Ackerman_005 fo wheel
@@Levi_Ackerman_005 Your point is just bs tbh, they aren't allowed to do it onstage, they can in their free time or literally anytime not onstage, like some of you forget THIS IS A JOB, they aren't just playing games for funsies.
@@AliHassan-mk6jp it does make sense though, they are basically saying they don't want people vaping, but yet they promote it? yeah sure; doesn't make sense
@@Levi_Ackerman_005 First off not wanting them vaping on stage and vaping in general are 2 very different things, Secondly they didn't say they don't want people vaping you're making an assumption, they punished someone for wearing crocs are they also anti crocs?
There are plenty of reasons they don't want vaping ON STAGE, like the crocs rule it could just be about professionalism on stage vaping could be viewed as less professional similar to the crocs rule, and with vaping specifically there are rules against indoor smoking in businesses in general cause other people don't want to deal with your smoke same goes for the players, and lastly an advertiser promoting something and a player promoting it are 2 different things.
Gamers really do have it so tough
😔
Yikes, watching this makes me glad I haven't watched Esports since 2017...
Free crocs.
Ayo faker playing osu? 0:57
Kind of a weird video ngl
At this point FGC >>> traditional esports
fgc is much more traditional than league
In which world does the fact that riot fines players for vaping and letting teams autolose because someone didn‘t download the client fit the title?
I enjoyed the video but please don‘t get into the „bash riot for everything“ rabit hole
I sure hope you don’t chew on your snus 🤢😂

Free the Shrek crocks
China won MSI playing remotely 😂😂😂
lol, because lucians nickname in china ls literally OBAMA. LOL hahahaah
bro reaching
Brother, I get it. Your videos arent easy to make and I understand that it takes effort, alot in fact. But having a sponsorship every damn video gets so annoying
he also needs to eat
Riot games became too wokey... one word gets you chat banned ingame
not even a curse , people type 2 sentences like i played bad and inted this game and you can get banned if people report you jesus
Trying to clean up their image to keep partners happy == being woke

Lmao woke= trying to make as much money as possible in every country

@@UntrackedEndorphinssay your an NPC without saying you're an NPC

well i was going to watch this, but i want nothing to do with opera gx.
No rules for China!!!
First
This is what happens when you hire snowflakes to design your game.
If they have gambling sponsors in pro play i will not watch them ever again
Isn't Riot owned by a Chinese company now?
Since 2015
This is why foreign companies aren't allowed on us soil like it's gross how they treat people
As a Chinese, all I can say is get shreked guys. Respect the rules when playing in China. Imagine playing in California in a few years when they impose inclusion and diversity programs on stage. You will think this is actually not that bad.
Inclusing and diversity programs would be anightmare! Will not respect the rules and hope it will go bankrupt.
I'd say how bullshit these rules are.
But players and watchers brought it upon themselves too.
Always crying about "toxicity" and ither shit.
Well, this is what happens when you abide for censorship; wanted people to stop mocking you? Well, guess what, now you can't say kill or wear crocs. Have fun with twitch rules being universal now.
