AWWW----THAT SUCKS !! There's gotta be a better clutch you can use. I know you're trying to support your clutch guys (not saying who on purpose), but both you and Tony have been plagued by clutch issues a lot !! You always put your heart and soul into the sport you love and it's agonizing to see the failures for the same reason. Granted you were a little hard on it a few videos ago when you guys were out testing and learning the stickshift launch, but it looked like you dumped it pretty good this time, so I don't understand why it screwed you again. I ran a shitload of built big block FORDS back in my days and blew more trannies and rearends than clutches. There was a local guy that would give you whatever pressure plate pressure you wanted. Maybe more pressure and a better friction material ? We always ran 11" too. Don't know what yours is. As always not trying to be a know it all, but just sitting over here in N.H. trying to understand why. No input shaft seal leak or rear main leak still, right ? I hope you guys get it figured out---I want to see that pretty smile holding a stack of cash and a trophy !!!

Sounds like its time for a dual disc and keep extra discs in the trailer or extra flywheel and clutch kit in there, sucks to make that long of a drive to smoke it in the first 60’. Burning is learning though, may only can use a disc so many passes

We raced stick cars in E modified production and Super Stock/O class when I was a kid. I seem to remember a never ending thrash. Sometimes swaping trans and clutch between rounds. Sticks are fun and exciting, but a lot of work. Loved the video, keep em coming!

Adrenaline Tess is your twin - watch she don't get you into something, she might be EVIL! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Back when they relined that clutch I thought "that's kinda cheesy, that's not a clutch for someone's daily", same for resurfacing the pressure plate. That's just them being cheap. That's twice - same clutch. For me it was two strikes - it's gone. That should have been a NEW clutch, not a re-line, or maybe it's me but that's twice on the same disk & hat. We went through a couple manufacturers before we found what stood up to hit after hit after hit - including having to ride the clutch a few times on bad pavement. Just my thoughts, as always - You're GOLDEN!

I know that air strip. It's just out of palm springs off the 10hwy heading to Blythe. It's an old air strip from WWII I think. See it all the time driving on my hunting trips to Blythe. No problems from people seeing you from the hwy?
I wish there was more street car class that didn't allow 2step or building boost on the line. I suppose I'll wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which gets full first.
I once purchased a Red 70 Maverick with mint black interior off a friend for a whooping $50. After my girlfriends dad seen it and needed a car I sold it for a bill. $100. Running, driving, very little rust. I don't miss that gf at all.
Those act clutches don't seem to hold that well but I didn't see all the testing but damn y'all going through crutches I think I'd try a different stage or brand

ACT is 10 minutes from our house and give us great customer service. None of the pressure plates have been the same and I don’t want a dual disc or a puck clutch. Now she has 3200 pounds of base pressure and it’s dealing with the abuse. The new clutch that we put in after this video already has 21 hits on it. I know that the abuse we put this car through no clutch would deal with it it so ACT being local I can get parts when we need them.
Watching these videos bring me back to earth. As much as I want to be able to do this stuff. It's obvious I won't ever be able to afford to compete with people like this.
Going street racing for fun don't have to break you financially. Start simple and keep doing upgrades as your wallet allows. A lightweight maverick (as your username implies) is the same as hopping up a mustang. A 500hp small block windsor is very achievable now days. You would be surprised how hard such numbers would run. A plate kit of nitrous, good converter and trans, an 8.8 rear axle and Bam you got a solid 10 sec car worth loads of fun on the street.

4-5 hours is less then Ohio trip lol.Not sure what mufflers you run but SPINTECH PRO STREET 9000 would sound amazing and they flow more then any flowmaster or magnaflo and made in Cali.
This car will never have an auto, cars that go 9 and slower with an auto are boring to drive. This clutch has a lot of pass probably 40 or more. We don’t show all the testing we do with it.
I went to the first event they had out there a few years ago. It was like an 8hr drive. It was May and about 110° for 4 days. I liked the place it was cool. Did you stay in the little cabins?
I've tried diaphragm clutches and they work like crap I don't care what you do to him unless there are three disc type setup they don't work go to the three-finger clutch have your springs bumped up I tried a heavy duty clutch out of a 3-ton and the big block still spun it went to a local clutch builder and had him put heavier strings in it I think you said it was like a 65 lb pedal pressure it's been a long time ago after that and never spun the clutch again talkin single disk three-finger pressure
First time seeing your channel. I noticed earlier in the video that you may have been under your vehicle with just a hydraulic jack holding. I couldn't tell if you had a prop as well, but If not, please start using one. I have personally witnessed accidents involving this issue, and I hope you aren't offended by this comment. Things like this, is and will be the normal. Good police officers have retired, quit and/or are leaving. Now they're desperate and will put a badge on anybody. The ones that stayed and the new cops being hired are ego driven power trippers. ...it's going to get worse.

Act is local and knows what they are doing. They are not responsible for us over heating the clutch and putting it through what we do.

Please put an adjustable clutch with a sintered iron disc in that car. Give McCleod clutches a call.
