Lawyer here, contesting a divorce does not mean you want to save your marriage. You contest your divorce when you want the divorce to be litigated due to the inability to amicably resolve financial matters like child support/ custody or how to divide assets fairly.
In this case, Jessy and Jennie cannot decide on the custody of their daughter and the amount of child support on their own so logically Jeannie contested the divorce.

Unpopular opinion: As much as I liked Jeanie on the real show she really made a bad decision marrying this dude Jeezy. She left her ex Freddie just to move on to all this. She literally didn’t want kids with her ex who from all we’ve seen seems like a good dude. Just to marry and have a baby by a serial baby daddy rapper who’s never been married and seemed to not value family or marriage. Her judgment in men just does not seem good for a woman over 40.
As a person who was mandated to take countless hours of DV training, these females tend to stay in these toxic relationships because the batterer is the bread winner. I mean when was the last time she worked after the Real was cancelled? She solely depends on his income. In this case, it has nothing to do with cycles of abuse. It is strictly about money. If he did not file, she probably would continue to remain silent. The main concern should be the best interest of the child. Here's where I question her parenting skills why would you remain in a home in which your daughter has easy access to guns?

you have to remember when they were together she could watch her child and put the guns away herself, but now that she is not there and he is still being reckless with those guns its different. I get it, I dont care about their situation but I definitely feel some kind of way about that small child that is a dangerous situation period. If you go online there are more pictures that show guns on beds, living room table just everywhere. I just hope this is a wake up call for him to put those guns up for the safety of his daughter, because two year olds get into everything.
