Before you pull the head. Did you check to make sure you guys didn’t get any water in the spark plug hole when you washed the engine bay? Hit the holes with the air compressor and then try it again.
I'd definitely do a coolant system pressure test before you pull the motor. I bet pressure washing the engine let some water get passed the coil pack and not driving it, it never really evaporated. Unless the head has a grand canyon crack into the plug hole
Hey guys. Hope all is well. For your info. H22 injectors are needed for that Engine. If you do research the injectors on a H22 have more fuel cc's than civic, integra injectors. Try finding them

dude you just got water down that plug tube from washing the car. dry it out slap new plug and coil pack in it and send it. my c.o.p plate on my h22 lets water by like that... ive had the same issue
Yea that water is likey from pressure washing it. clean things out good and also those injectors are gonna work crazy hard to supply fuel to the h motor. Stock h motors have alot bigger cc than d series engines. Hope you guys figure things out bro

Oem h22/f20b injectors are 310cc
Obd1 h22 injectors are rare. They are 345cc all other b and d are 240cc

make sure if you have low impedances injectors ur running the resistor box aswell , if you have high impedances you just need the grey "cap off" plug on driver side harness in engine bay at least that's what its like for my eg when it sounds like its Subaru lol

Likely just water getting in the spark plug bore from washing it, almost anytime it gets driven you wash it before trying to drive it cuz it’s been sitting for a while. Also like everyone else is saying the D/B series injectors are a lower CC then H/F so you’ll be starving it for fuel. Don’t rip apart the engine without diagnosing basic engine health first.

Check your injector wiring and fan etc. Its nit much just something your looking over probably in the distrubitur bypass also just once over it you will find it im sure uts not the blown head 11:35

Put a stock fuel pressure regulator in it ..less problems, reverse is there just gotta move forward a bit and hit reverse to line up gears same then vice versa

Try k20 injectors some parts do matchup
If you had that much coolant in a cylinder to where its coming by the spark plug. you would have hydro locked that engine. Most like water from cleaning the engine
hey dudes :) My CRX is a bit shit with the reverse like that, most of the time you cannot get into it while stationary, but if you slowly let off the clutch while trying to put it into reverse it reliably goes in just before the flywheel engages so you've just got to be ready for it :P
You might want to look into investing in an ultrasonic cleaner from harbor freight.

Stop don't pull the motor.... Pull the spark plugs and clean them, pull those injectors out... You're old injectors are probably just gummed up get the h22 injectors cleaned and put them back in the motor is fine

My d15 had fluid in the spark plug tube, but they have an oring that seals the spark tube and rocker assembly. It would shoot the spark plug wire off the head when it got hot

Civic injectors aren't the same CC as H22 injectors they fit but its not gonna run right.

If it had an h22 basemap, then it's most likely set up for 290/310 injectors
What did he pull the obd2 injectors from? If it wasn't a y8, or an ls then he got 190cc injectors.

edit: Ive had oil down there in my b18, and a valve cover gasket kit (with the sparkplug tube seals) fixed mine... maybe that would help but
Don’t give up on the H and think about it first if the gasket is blown and water is in the cylinder it would burn and smoke that water has to be on top of the plug and not coming from inside stop going to worst case bro good luck

I bet your issues with the style injector that you’re using. I ran into it before that on older chassis they don’t like the run on the OBD to be style injectors in the ones that you’re describing with the side pigtails usually gave me an issue and had the car run like shit.
