It seems like there is a HUGE lack of family taking care of their loved ones in the home. A lot of out sourcing happening

Sorry if this is a 2nd post. My first one disappeared. A LACK of family care in the home? Please, don't dismiss the hundreds of thousands of us putting in 30-hr days without a break -- for years - providing care, management, interventions and education of ignorant medical people with excellence all while managing the home and business.
The presentation resonated with me because the fragmented, siloed health care system seems more focused on checking boxes and satisfying their lawyers. Patient care - or even better CLIENT care - is a byproduct, a means to a payment. I had that patient/client discussion with one home care provider who was stumped by the concept that the human being who is the means by which they earn their living is THEIR CLIENT. I think the changes we need to see run deep.
And I had to laugh when Teepa gave the example of the doctor rattling off instructions. It was like a scene from the first meeting with my husband's first neurologist. He had great educational credentials, but lacked all sense of how to interact with an older person. I had researched all the issues ahead of time, looked at scans to familiarize myself with what I'd be seeing, and I could not follow the speed of his delivery. Plus, I found the lighthearted flippant manner disgusting. Thanks Teepa for your efforts in this fight.
