You're a hero. My mother died in Vanderbilt from brain surgery. She was 40 I was 21. Part of me died with her but God has sustained me and blessed me. She said we will meet again in heaven.
You seem so shy and humble. Someone who fufils every role in his life perfectly. I have never appreciated healthcare workers as much as i do now. So many who become social media famous and can quit but money was never their goal. Enriching lives and the desire to help is what keeps people like you in the medical field. Hope you get the sucess you deserve on social media and continue to be the brilliant surgeon you are. I love your shorts.
The crazy part is that you have only one alarm time!!!! I have to put, 5:00, 5:05, 5:10, 5:15 and so on just to get myself started to decide if to snooze on 5:30am!!!!
You’re a G man. The amount of schooling you endured is remarkable. I hope you love every second of your job, people like you are what make the world a better place.
I had a eight hour surgery. I'm still alive. Many years later. I give thanks to my team. I was in ICU after surgery. I heard nurse say you shaved your beard for her? I gave him words of wisdom and I lived and he listen. I know I made his Neuro surgery a success because he listened to me! I watch this because it allowed me live a full life .❤️
A life of Sacrifice for the greater good of humanity ❤ may God bless you doctor for you humility and wisdom, compassion and kindness. We need more people like you
Thank You and God bless you for your dedication to your job, I wish you all the blessings, happiness, peace, joy, abundance in life, Thanks for this uplifting video ❤
Thank you for sharing your life with us all. And thank you for becoming a doctor. It's very hard and requires a special person who's compassionate, communicative, caring, and uber intelligent to do this. 😊
Love these videos. I miss working NSG. In ER now but my first job and best training was with a NSG who taught me well. He is still my favorite boss to this day.
I'm in awe of your speciality....ive had L4 and L5 rupture 4 times...im determined Not to fuse.. but time'll tell....my surgeon's gifted in surgery but has 0 bedside manner... TBH I'd rather hv the talent in the OR but relating to a patient Counts too ♥
Sometimes I think we don't realize what it takes to be one of these individuals. They are not your party boys your Good Time Charlie's your class clowns. They're way above average intelligence and are probably consider geniuses... So therefore their personality types are totally different. They are not there to entertain you they are there to surgically and medically make you well. So I probably have had 18 surgeries in my lifetime. Believe you me you want someone who can do the job and do it correctly. Because down the road of life what they did in the OR is going to matter a whole lot more then how many jokes they told you.
@@suewilson3553 I agree with you that neurosurgeons are highly skilled highly intelligent people on this planet. However, being that smart, they can build in some nice bedside gestures for their patients. It will go along way for them in their career. Especially when their patients tell their friends and family, what a great surgeon they have. All it takes is for the Nuro surgeon to build in some nice words as part of their routine. Or give a smile once in a while. It’s not that hard. They’re geniuses right!
Thank you for sharing Dr. my late husband experienced brain surgery dated back in 2018. And that was the first time I learned more about Glioblastoma with zero chance to live. I as his wife learned a lot while at NICU and grateful for the hard work of the nurses and all healthcare professional who worked at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee 🙏
My grandma passed away last week. She was the person I loved most in the world. I remember the day before she passed I told her that I was going to become a neurosurgeon after I finish high school and she was so happy that’s a dream I have to fulfill not just for me but for her too
This brings back such good memories of working with you at st lukes. So sad it closed. But you are a great surgeon and loved having the pleasure working with you
I take my hat off to y’all. I just had a infusioninfusion, diss removal I was scared, but my neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon did a great job up here in Baltimore at Union Memorial Hospital after the date of the surgery well after the surgery I came in my room got up and sit in the chair. I wasn’t in too much pain they control my pain pretty good.
I am so grateful for the Dr's that help people who have survived brain aneurysms, I had a brain aneurysm & am a survivor, I was given a 5% survival rate after a 41/2 hour operation & after two weeks in hospital I function a very normal life, no meds, no seizures, I drive, my brain fog is gone& I am so grateful to be alive, I have the coil system, thank you Docotrs for your amazing gift of saving our lives.God Bless you All!
Love your informative videos for us that like and respect what you do. I do have to ask, why do them? Who is making these? Are you teaching a class or is this just a journaling project? Either way, keep them coming and thank you for being smart 😂.
I really enjoy the educational/informative aspect of your content. It’s a refreshing blend to a stressful career. To share a personal bit, I have a meningioma. It was found about 16 years ago now. About a year ago my whole body was crashing and the radial pain I was experiencing was unnerving as I was fearful the tumor was effecting a nerve causing dysautonomic disruptions. I saw a Neurosurgeon who, like yourself, was what I call the perfect example of what the true Art of Medicine looks like. He was kind and compassionate. He truly listened to me with respect and because he had both the patience and intelligence he was able to be part of handing me my life back in some manner by identifying that I was describing peripheral nerve issues and pointed me to a neurophysiologist. Turns out he identified I actually was born with a small stomach so it’s my enteric nervous system tripping off the others. Thanks to a calm and ethical Neurosurgeon, I am a patient who enjoys advocating on behalf of the good and thus importance of appreciating the actual Art of Medicine. That’s my kudos to keeping ethics alive and well through all your complex and often compounded work as respectable Surgeons!! 😊 A+++ for your display of that through the content you share.
God bless you Doctor you do a magnificent job for a lot of people that rely on good people as yourself you are God's angel on earth helping others is the best thing anyone can do massive respect to all those in the profession of medicine who are in it to help others 🙏🙏🙏
Do you usually consult the hospitalist to assist management of your patients? If so, what are the top 5 things you usually like to see them assist with or need their help for?
I had hydrocephalus due to a pineal cyst. Took two surgeries to remove all of it. You neurosurgeons are incredible. The cyst was successfully removed with no long term effects. Cyst was epidermal.
Can you please explain what is your routine to relax from the 5h of surgery and how would you like your environment to serve you so get comfortable in your work.
