- I made my own DIY craft cabinet from 4 bookcases to store my many arts and crafts supplies. I attached wheel castors to the bottoms so I could move it around freely.
This is part 1 of 4 total videos related to my DIY Craft Cabinet creation:
Pt. 1: Building My DIY Craft Cabinet ( • Building My DIY Craft ... )
Pt. 2: Customizing Cabinet Doors ( • Customizing Cabinet Do... )
Pt. 3: DIY Resin Tabletop ( • DIY Resin Tabletop | D... )
Pt. 4: My Finished DIY Craft Cabinet ( • My Finished DIY Craft ... )
I stated how much this initial cabinet setup cost me at the end of the video, but there were a lot of tools and supplies I already owned (e.g., spray paint, nails, wood blocks, etc.). If you want to recreate this for yourself, keep in mind it may cost more or less depending on other factors like what you have available to use in your garage and where you purchase your materials.
Sorry if my voice-over sounded scripted. It was scripted because I don't normally do voice-overs on my videos. I was nervous to speak, so I needed help.
I hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for checking it out!

I made a cabinet like this. what I learned was you need to make a plywood base for the wheels to attach. The shelves will break apart under the weight of the cabinet. I had to redo all the units when mine broke.
That's awful! I hope my cabinet is alright with the bookcase brand I bought and the wood base I screwed the castors to. Thank you for sharing your experience!
I can wait to see your project too.
Peel and stick wallpaper rather then paint is great for changing the backer board look
Beautiful, nice dad also to help you and have nice ideas for the door handles. I want to see all the improves and shelfs, will be a nice storage for craft supply and organize things. Thank you for sharing this cool project!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This is a great tutorial! I’m only using 2 cabinets and working on getting the hinges on now. Almost done!
I'm glad you found the video helpful. Best of luck with your cabinet assembly!
That's the first thing I thought of. No way that cheap chip board from Mainstay would hold up on those castor wheels like that. Especially not for my sewing machine and all the other heavy stuff I'd be storing in there. Definitely would need a strong plyboard base.
But other than that, this is a really good custom craft cabinet that's not too expensive and doesn't require a whole shop of special tools or anything like that that I don't have in order to build it. Thanks to the girl and her dad for the good idea! 😊
The plywood base backing has been helpful, especially the few times I've moved the cabinet. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I was thinking the same thing I may put a wood base to attach the wheels to and the shelves to that
@@Vegaswink702 Yeah. I didn't trust the thin backing. Wood would be sturdier!
SUPER EXCITED! This is probably going down TONIGHT!🤣
Woo-hoo! Best wishes for your diy cabinet! YOU GOT IT!!!
Great job!
Thank you!
Wow very nice, your father is so handy 👍🏼👌🏼
Thank you! I learned much of my crafting and some basic handiness skills from him. He's a good teacher. 😊
What size castor wheels should I get?
Hi! I used 2 inch wheels, and it worked well for me.
I highly recommend getting castors with locks so the cabinet doesn't move with a bump or while you're opening and closing the "doors."
I hope this helps!
It would to be nice if you show the final result 😑
Hi! You can see the final result in the part 4 video through this link: ruclips.net/video/ZvvO5XEwovs/видео.html
