    I know what you mean. When I moved, couldn't wait to craft...so I'd buy stuff. When we finally settled down I had 6 glue guns, scissors galore,tons of paint etc. And there's still more I haven't unpacked!

      Ha! That's the problem with not being 100% organized ( and who is except on social media?). It's so easy to buy duplicates when you can't find something. Now you can have a glue gun party!😁

    I’m the paint sprayers type of gurl,
    I’m the sidelines steamroller supervisor. Tyft. And yeah hallelujah for wallpaper!!!!
    Had 9 kiddos and have 24 gkids. As each kid moved out I took over their room for office/ sewing room /crafts/painting/jewelry/junk journaling so hubs gets the shed outside. I’m just a collector curator of 60 years in this house of all mom/gmoms and my treasures. Gotta organize…
    Cute Story: went to assist #3daughter with her newborn. She was overwhelmed. We’ve all been there! I told her to go in and take a shower and cry, let it all out/deep sobbing, let the water wash away the weary. Then go take a nap. Fast forward ten years, her pre pubescent boy was having a tantrum. She gave him my advice a said you’ll feel better if you stand in the shower. 10 minutes later she goes in to check on him. He’s standing under the shower head. Dry as a bone, head bowed. He said, “ I don’t know mom, this just isn’t working for me.” So much for tantrum #3 lol❤

    I was a get to the good stuff gal too but recently I had a shed built. That was going to be my dream “she shed”. I thought you pay some people they build it … done, get to decorating and then crafting. OMG 😳 not so much. So much that I had to do. It’s taken 6 months. Have learned many lessons and worked thru many fears so I can honestly say this journey has been wonderful. I’m not the same person I was when I started and am quite proud of the things I did that I didn’t think I could do. Baby steps one day at a time. I remember sitting in the shed with saw dust on the floor and stud walls going oh no what have I started. I can’t do this. And something inside said just sweep the floor, then the next thing and the next. Working thru our stuff is the best teacher of all. Bless the journey to the new you. 😘

    Just came across this video. It’s like watching myself. Your love for crafts. Yup, me too. Looking for a way to store craft supplies in a tiny space. Yup, check. Letting the grey grow. Been a process, but me too. Just finished organizing my craft room and closet. That includes a bunch of bookcases (wallpapered now) and a chest of drawers and dresser (freshly painted). Which now has me wondering how in the world you’re going to fit all your supplies in a china cabinet. Still watching video though.
    Oh, and I also want to just skip to the fun part. Kindred spirits? Possibly. 😊

I just want to kick myself in the booty, because I have been binge watching all of these DIY craft storage videos and @ 26:25ish I realized that I have the perfect solid wood armoire, it is sitting outside in my covered patio, holding random things!!!! A good paint job and some little extras and I"m good to go!!! Light bulb moment! Hope you found your pens. I understand where your are at in your crafty transition. This is gorgeous!!! Mine has doors too but they are all wood and for safety reasons with the grandchildren I need somewhere to keep my things safe and the kiddos too. This will do!!! Thank you!

    Not a stalker or a Weirdo🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣 The favourite thing apart from the colour is the Price. They are £300 where I live in the UK. We are waiting for builders because 3 walls are coming down or having double doors put in, so my craft room upstairs is now a dump room for everything from these said rooms. Everything is off the walls and everything not going to be used in the next 4 weeks is in my room. I wish I had thought about it and pulled craft table forwards and tucked everything else behind because I can't get to anything now. The 4 weeks is now 12 weeks and still have no date so I am stuck. I rescued my embroidery stuff and have been making a roll on an industrial bobbin but nothing paper related. I may have to 'tunnel in' soon. Cabinet is adorable.

    • @sedwards536
      @sedwards536 Год назад +2

      @@goodgollygal You have to be careful here you can buy a beautiful shed/sun house but some are really thin boards and some are not pressure treated boards. In our weather over here timber sheds don't last that long. Soaking all winter and going mouldy and summers can still be wet and sunny😂 Then the thin boards shrink if we get a good hot spell. All good fun over here.

    I was so thrilled to see this video after I watched your craft room reveal that I went blazing by the comments section! I love your style! You are so easy to listen to and watch! In my world, I just downsized my craft room for the 2nd time and did major donations to Goodwill. I have always crafted but in 2005 I added scrapbooking and paper arts to my sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, and other stuff for Christmas, Halloween, and other holidays. But I am now almost 70 and sight-impaired, and the only craft I can still do is scrapbooks and other paper arts. Now that I am retired I am very careful of what I spend. Like you, I have my OCD traits and hoarding tendencies: pens and various papers. So you have just a touch of OCD and you have to just enjoy it. I like fine-point colorful pens and those are my OCD and hubby frequently makes a comment about why I need more pens. I toss it back to him. "Better this 16.99 for 30 pens than other pens that are $5 each!". meaning I can use the 16.99 for 30 pens instead of getting the same colors at $5 each. It helps him put it in
    perspective. I gave him a lecture on dye-based inks as opposed to water-based inks so he walks the other way if I am carrying an ink pad. He's the same way with tools and fixing things!
    I am so glad I found you. I have watched other craft room videos and they are all glitzy and pink or monochrome black and white with huge Kallax from IKEA and a thousand dollars worth of lights. I had to invest in Ott lights and bulbs, but they weren't expensive as I shop at Joann's or Michaels or Habbo Lobby for clearance and I haven't replaced a single Ott light bulb since 2005. They can heat up a room which is not great in AZ but I have an overhead fan and central air. I found a refurbished 5 CD player on eBay for $20 and I filled it with The Beach Boys, Enya, and Dido. Your son is so cute.... bbfn karen

    Excellent storage solution! When you were talking to us with the blue door framing your face, it made your blue eyes pop. I'm not being disrespectful. LOL Just sayin'. LOL I'm older than you, so my main diy days were pre-chalk paint. I honestly don't like it. I do not understand the appeal. I've never had such trouble with old fashioned regular latex paint. Now I'm to the wallpaper part. Again, never had trouble with regular old timey wallpaper. Good golly gal, next time try old fashioned tried & true supplies. Bless your heart.

      You are so sweet! Once I got it switched to the Jolie paint it was so easy but that first paint was not being kind at all! As for the wallpaper, I will definitely be using the old school lady’s kind next time. That thing tried to kill me! 😂 Thanks for watching my video and for the comments! I love when I get to chat with you all! ♥️

    I found you today for the first time. I love the projects you do and the casual/honest way you present yourself. I love when you get excited to show us little things that you really like. You are very entertaining and funny. I have a china cabinet that I have some of my craft supplies in but I have kept the front covered with material. I am thinking I should remove the material so the supplies can be seen. I live in a small one bedroom apartment and have converted my living room/dining room into my craft room. I am a little embarrassed because it always looks cluttered, even though most of it is put away in a box or container. It's either that or throw stuff out and I'm not ready to do that. Hope you found your pens!

    Omg i love how you did this! I have a cabinet that I converted. Its not painted just went straight to organizing! Haha! I have been searching for a way to do a slide out table top bottom. And your slide out looks like it would work in my cabinet. Thank you for inspiration! Id love to have a closer look at how the back table top works? Is it connected at all or just resting on top?

    • @goodgollygal
      @goodgollygal  Год назад +1

      Thank you! No the back piece just sits on top when they are pushed in and when I pull it out it drops down in place. It’s the perfect height! I do have to lift the back one a bit to help get the shelf started before I push it in. It works perfectly!

    Thanks for sharing I have a clothes cabinet that was left at my house by old home owners that I want to remake into a craft cabinet in my craft room and not many have videos on items like this on youtube. I love how yours turned out and love how you showed you added the sliding work shelf I want to add the same to my cabinet also. I'm actually redoing another 1 they left into a vanity 😊.... thanks for sharing all your makeovers you did a amazing job on such a small craft room. And lol mine looks like yours from the beginning right now. I did want to ask how did the bead storage work put in the drawers? Was it easier or just a pain ? Curious cause I have mine in jars on shelves so I can see and also in those bead storage containers then you know how it is with jewelry you have all your clasps, jump rings earrings hooks etc etc did you store them in those drawers too? I started 1 from harbor Freight yrs ago for like all my findings and bails and charms. That seemed to work out great I'm a visual person out of sight out of mind. Please let me know how the bead storage worked out for you. I'm glad to know I'm not alone with piles and blinders too lol my brain works like yours. Sorry I just binged watched several of your videos and I have everything you said in my head lol and girl your so right it's all True

      @goodgollygal  Год назад +1

      Oh I love this! I’m so glad my video has given you some ideas for your own project! The drawers worked out great for my bead storage. I just pull out the trays of beads and findings I need for a project and then put them back when I’m done. You can see through the drawers enough to know which beads they are. Also, I have to add that I love that you are binge watching my videos! That makes me so happy! Thank you friend! ♥️

    I can commiserate there’s some acrylic paint that I wanted to use especially that I cannot find but since I’m an adult learner going back to university to study art movies, running back-and-forth from the studio and things tend to disappear there because everyone thinks that anything there is property of the school

    I followed your link to that gorgeous wallpaper and I have bad news 😢. The reviews are pretty bad. Has it held up for you? I think maybe it works better in small doses like drawer liners etc. it’s sooo pretty though that I almost bought it anyway. Love the cabinet!

      Mine has held up in my cabinet but definitely don’t buy it if the reviews are bad. When I bought mine I don’t think there were any reviews yet. I’m glad I didn’t put it on a wall if it’s not working well. 🫣
