    I built one of these from white shelves after I saw your video, and I love it. I made a couple of changes - I used larger casters, and I added dry erase coated masonite on the backs of the cabinets, it made them sturdier, and when it was closed up, it looked really nice. I used very decorative glass and chrome door handles, with a sturdy latch to keep it closed when I moved it from room to room, and even outdoors. And unfolded it makes a great room divider, so I can section off any room in the house and there's my craft room. I built it two years ago, and it's still going strong. Thank you for posting your homebuilt portable craft room, so I could be inspired to build mine.

    Thank you so much for the updated video. I just found your original and was wondering how long it had lasted. Love the additional 'floor' to the bottom as that definitely is more secure. I am in awe of your ability to put this together all by yourself. Great job and thank you for sharing all your learnings with us! So happy to have found you! I will definitely be looking to create my own type of scrapbook organization station.

    Planning to start making one of these this weekend. One change I'm making is that I bought hinges with removable pins so I can easily separate and reattach the shelves from each other when I move.

      Didn't get as far as I hoped, life happened. I did get one bookshelf put together to get some measurements for the "platform". I'm using 3/4” plywood and I'm making the braces out of the leftovers instead of using 2x4s. Going to glue and screw everything.

    Great job, one thing that would help anyone who thinks they may have heavier items on shelves is a devider under the centre of each row, made of mdf like shelf, just cut to size (distance between two shelves) and then no problemwith weight. Also, for table height, raise one of the shelves. They don't all have to be the and height, if you look at the original one it has lots of compartments, this helps stabilise it. I think you're great. Good job🎉🎉🎉

    You did an excellent Job on this, I am interested in the organization that you used and where purchased. I have 4 open shelving units with 4 drawers that separate the top from the bottom sections, Problem is, I am bursting at the seams. my base sections are not as good as the top sections, the shelves do not fully cover the space front to back. it does provide room for taller items. There isn't room for my cricket, unless I find better ways to organize. Thank you!

    So if someone wanted to build the same thing from scratch right now between the functional improvements you've made since the original and the changes in prices the last few years how much would it a cost to build it now?

    • @uniquecraftycorner.5998
      @uniquecraftycorner.5998  Год назад +3

      @ESPdigiartist Hi. It depends on the materials you purchase. I just went on Walmart.com and found black bookcases for $35 each. I used 2” casters but I found better ones (gel ones) 3” casters for $20 (set of 4) very good price and hold 800 Lb. Way more then mine. You will need 16 though. 2 handles $18 but depending on the style you want the price give or take. Pack of 18- 3” hinges $18. I used 1.5 but would go bigger now. A 2x4 but not sure how much it cost but not much and contact paper if you choose. Prices are from Walmart and amazon as of 10-17-2023
      4 bookcases $35 = $140
      16 Casters $20 for 4 = $80
      2 handles =$18
      18 hinges =$18
      All together $256 plush 2x4s and some board and contact paper. So I would say around $300 depending on the items you purchase. It’s a bit more now but still way cheaper then the original one. And you can build 10 of these for the price of original one. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching. 😊

      @@uniquecraftycorner.5998 I saw that. just having a hard time envisioning it. 2x4....so 2, 2x4 boards for each unit that the casters then screw on to???

    • @uniquecraftycorner.5998
      @uniquecraftycorner.5998  Год назад +1

      @@DianeRogerssydanddianes Yes. 2 - 2x4 pieces per unit. And hardware store to buy fours come in the different lengths. So I just needed one 2 x 4 and my husband caught it for me. But if you ask people like at Home Depot, they will cut them to the length you need it for free. I also added another piece of board after I put 2x4 and then I put casters on the place where 2x4 are. So imagine the bottom shelf of the unit then in each corner 2x4 then again piece of board and then wheels on the spot where the 2x4s are.
