@@theseppfuchs I was super surprised after watching your mono white video, that it was your first one! Really high production quality and great video content right out of the gate! I'm sure this channel will grow in no time, if you keep going like this! :)
Thank you for the kind words guys, I already have fun making these, but reading all the nice comments and interesting discussions sweetens the deal a lot :).
@@theseppfuchs Colour matters has been phased out because its efficiency depended entirely on factors outside of gameplay such as what deck your opponent plays. So it either played really well or really bad with strategy and decisions made during the actual game not being impactful.
...and subscribed. I love that you're presenting possibilities and sometimes a card that goes really well then moving on, let the imagine run wild. If anything the only problem I'm having with your vids so far is I need to keep pausing to open more scryfall tabs to research these later. Looking forward to more!
I have a Blind Seer deck, and even though I do all the quirky color changing things it’s a dangerous assembly of cards that slows the game down with control pieces then locks the board. People always underestimate it.
That's funny, I have a Blind Seer deck that was one of the first few decks I ever built when I first started playing in 2015 so it's kinda bad haha xD Eventually I'll come back to it and change it up and make it better :P
@@azelia2464 keep in mind that if you want to make the best of it you'll have to be willing to stax the table with Douse or Dream Tides, play a good amount of removal and mass bounce (even if color coded, such as Hydroblast or Hibernation), or make it impossible for your opponents to deploy and maintain creatures with Llawan, Cowardice, etc. It's not a deck to make new friends.
@Iker888 I'll let you know, I made the deck with cards that allow me to infinitely counter spells xD Deadeye Navigator, Peregrine Drake and Douse haha xD There's also a bunch of other random crap in there like Arcane Laboratory, Back to Basics, Dismiss into Dream, Dream Tides, Frozen Aether, High Seas, Illusionary Terrain, Mana Maze, Reality Twist, Shifting Sky, Shimmer, Tidal Control and Well-Laid Plans hahaha. Yeah it's not particularly good but it's annoying as all hell lol. I'll have to update it and make it less aids and more interesting and "fun."
@Iker888 Yeahhh mono Blue or Blue White Control is so unfun to play against so I really stay away from it. If I explain to you that I'm a Green player I think you'll get it haha
I'm really surprised Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar didn't make the cut. It gets you through your deck 3 times faster (great for combos or toolbox decks), makes you immune to losing to an empty library (maybe a group mill strategy), and turns off any opposing effects that trigger when an opponent draws a card (sorry Sheoldred and Faery Mastermind and Consecrated Sphinx and Smothering Tithe and...). It was my third or fourth EDH build, and I've since moved the deck into more colors, but it's very unique and cool to have a commander that says "You don't draw cards anymore, but you can get your favorite cars from the top three of your library instead." I may build around it again, because it just keeps getting better. I mean, a wheel let's you look at 21 cards and pick one out of every three to put in your hand, what's more busted than that?
I run a Dromar "screw your colours" deck and Blind Seer is brilliant in that type of build. I think those types of synergies should make more of a comeback. Also glad to see a fellow Hakim lover. He's one of my favourite decks to play 😁
Gonna invoke Universes Beyond, if only because Ixidor inspired me - 'The Cyber-Controller' costs XUUB, and you mill all opponents for the X in the casting cost; any creature milled is put as a face-down 2/2 Cyberman token, which you could then turn face-up with Ixidor, if it's something cool. Thematically, he would be freeing the monster from a Universes Beyond shell :V
Nice to see young Urza right at the end! He's the only mono-blue commander I've ever felt like building (started putting together a deck for him a couple of weeks ago!) although some of these others you showcased in this video seemed really interesting too 😂
Apparently, I've brewed a ton of decks over the years and loving obscure ones. I seem to have made 3+ decks from all these videos. Thank you for giving some of my favorite generals love. Please check out Seton for mono green hahaha.
@theseppfuchs I found my ancient Seton deck this month(5+ years of dust). Let's just say I'm definitely the archenemy. I thought it was casual, but it's cedh level for sure. Druidball specializing in stealing lands isn't a joke.
@@jessevandez haha, I know exactly which card you are talking about :D. Sometimes you just want too have ALL the fun even if that means your opponents have a little less fun.
@theseppfuchs I've fully embraced that concept for better or worse. I was set up by the precons, though. My first was Nekusar (wheels/group slug) and then Derevi (Stax) haha.
These videos are great, keep em going :) I find myself looking through Gatherer at legendaries from time to time, just checking them out, it's fun. Wonder what you'll think when you get to Green and find Sakiko from Betrayers of Kamigawa and Seshiro from Champions of Kamigawa :P
@theseppfuchs Ahhh nice xD I eventually want to make an irl commander out of one of them, but I also reaaaaally like Surrak and Goreclaw for mono Green. He is insanely good. Basically turns you into a Red player haha
A card I’m surprised you didn’t mention here is Chisei, Heart of Oceans. It’s perfect for a Saga or Cumulative Upkeep deck. Have had my eyes on it for a while. Also, I know you said you aren’t covering UB commanders, but I’ve been having a blast with Piper Wright, Publick Reporter. Clue Voltron! It’s cute.
Especially with my love for Kamigawa! It almost made the list, but I had to make some cuts :(. I love the idea of pairing it with Sagas, thanks for pointing it out. Piper Wright seems like an absolut blast to play! Always happy to see people share their favorite commanders in the comments.
One that has recently peaked my interest is "The Watcher in the Water" I know you said no Universes Beyond but this is mainly a Lord of the Rings flavored Octopus. The thing is how crazy they worded his ability. You can use Sage of the Falls to pretty much draw your whole deck and create around 85+ 1/1 Blue Tentacles.
I love my Taniwha stax deck! The idea is that you try to break parity with your lands phasing away every other turn, so cards like Mana Breach and Overburden aren't as punishing for me. Lots of instants and things to give my stuff flash and of course lots and lots of mana rocks. When my lands are phased out I can float mana from my mana rocks to play Sunder. That pretty much assures a good time for my opponents.
And Cyclonic Rift still legal. Smh :D. Thanks for the heads up though. I generally ignore the banlist because I have a fixed playgroup so it's easy to just talk about what's ok and what isn't.
This fact about Ertai gets over looked. His effect is an activated ability not a spell. It makes it harder to interact with. You can't counter his ability, you have to stifle it.
These videos are great, didn't realise it was the second one of the channel. Couldn't tell because of how good it looked
Aww, that's very sweet. Still trying to get better at everything sound related though.
I went looking for green but no video yet. Subbed and waiting

These are fun. I especially like the old weird cards that play in design spaces we don't see anymore like color matters.
Agreed, colour matters is so cool. If you don't mind me asking, which of these commanders was your favorite?

40:51 Blind Seer is actually Urza in disguise, it’s why he’s legendary without being a named character, though I forget why this was in the storyline😅
Lol, thanks for the lore. I was actually asking myself why a random Blind Seer is a legendary creature.

Ty so much :)
17:47 why would you draw 4 cards? It’s still one instance of damage.

I really love this concept for a series. I’m always looking for an excuse to play more obscure cards, so this sorta stuff really gets my gears turning

whered the timestamps go??
The original ones were automatically generated and those tend to be soso. I added them manually, so it should be fixed :).
Great video but i think should consider shorter videos. 5 commanders per video would be enough
