I just crafted a similar deck I saw online. The version I crafted also uses Ashiok, as an alternative way to close out the game (the minus ability creates twice as many tokens, and they get twice as many +1/+1 counters every turn). It's just greedier in general actually, also running Wrenn, whose ultimate can let you recur your planeswalkers infinitely.
-9 at 34:00 would have in fact been a loss, because they can keep one curiosity as creature and the other as enchantment, attacking the next turn for 8 damage
