I could totally relate. I just bought my first boat last year. At the end of the summer I went and fished my old stomping grounds. It felt like nothing had changed. I even caught some fish in my old spots.

Two bass hunters out for the afternoon. Imagine being a five pound bass and you see Scott Martin and Bradley Hallman slowly cruising by. Lol. You just say goodbye to the school and head out for a bite to show your respect. Hahahaha. I got bass fever so bad. Lol help.

I totally understand the nostalgic feelings you get while fishing this lake, I’m the same way with Champlain, my grandmother grew up there and my family’s been going up there for 70 years every year, I’ve been in the group for the past 35 years and now that a lot of my family is gone it can be overwhelming with the emotions at times when going up there these days, will never stop going there, we’ve released family members ashes in kings bay shoals where we stay and visit them a lot, great episode and merry Christmas!!!

There’s something so special about revisiting your old fishing holes. I grew up in IN fishing all our local ponds, I’d leave w a couple sandwiches, my bike, box, pole and our little Chinese pug. I’d fish all day till just before dark and I sure honed my fishing skills that way. I need to revisit some of those old ponds in 2021! Midwest? Is OK count as Midwest?? 😂 Said the Indiana boy living in Cincinnati. 😂😂. You ever come this way holler and I’ll feed ya right! jj

Arbuckle is an amazing lake, i fish the Thursday night jackpots every week and have caught 21lbs with 3 fish and have caught a 42lb bag and got 2nd with 50lbs being first place

Those bathrooms u were standing in were once under water. I lived in the campground right down the road from it for abt 4 or 5 yrs and lived in the area for my whole life ik every crevise of that lake 😂

Scott what's the deal with that Jackhammer rod? How'd you get the sturdy guides?? I have a 7' medium and it's got the flimsy first guide with the single flange. Did you replace the guides? I've been wanting to replace the micro guides anyways
When did they start making the micro guide’s? Seems like thats all i can find, my buddy and i just got back into fishing after many many years.

But I've had it for about 4 years I think so they used them back then but hopefully they're changing them now. I just haven't brought myself to buying another. I got a Steez instead.
Plus I snapped a Megabass Orochi XX jerkbait special shortly after getting it and I'm about done buying high end rods.
@@DavidMccallister65 seems like since ive been gone from fishing, all the manufactures have the rods made overseas just like everything else. I have an old early 1990’s Falcon rod, now that im back to fishing ive heard they and now made in china? Whats the best, least expensive rod out their now?
@@mp5kfisher241 it's really hard to say. It's got alot to do with preference and what style of fishing you're doing but I really like Diawa Tatulas, St Croix and Lews. Lews typically for the cheaper all around rods. The Hack Attack series are good rods for $100 but they'll break as well eventually. Diawa has a lot of great mid range rods that last and usually cost less than $200. Same for St Croix and Shimano as well. I'm mostly a Diawa and Shimano reels guy but Lews has some good reels also from $99-$180
@@DavidMccallister65 i do a lot of wacky rigs, texas rig, crank bait, spinners, jigs. Im just now starting to get some deep water crank lures together for winter so i was looking for a good rod and reel combo. Ive had my eye on the Daiwa Tatula 300 series TTU300P reel and the Daiwa Tatula Elite 8ft Crankbait Rod.
Most of my other reels are old school Shimano Calcutta 100’s, Old 1990’s curado and i have one Lew’s reel that has been great so far, the Lews and one new Shimano curado k.
Most of my rods are old 1990’s, all star, falcon in the 6-1/2 ft long range and i have a couple new 7’ft + duckett rods but i need something longer i think if i want to start fishing with glide, swim and A Rigs.
Every Midwesterner has to be super confused seeing the ‘best lake in the Midwest’ in Oklahoma, a south western (or southern plains) state 😂
