As individuals, we can only do so much to make a small difference. However, the wealthy and famous who use private jets and yachts cause far more damage than we can prevent.
I feel so sorry for everyone experiencing extremes in the weather. I'm in menapause and burning up from the inside out. I can't imagine this heat experienced by the people in this documentary. 😢

You're in Palm Springs, CA as well?! I just made a comment moments ago stating where I was at and how hot it's been as well as how long this heat has been lasting. It's October 25th today and the temperatures are still lasting in the mid to high 90°'s F! This is the longest summer I've experienced traveling and being out here ever! It's supposed to be fall :/
@@Yoyoyo333k yes, I’m in Palm Springs. It’s been a long summer, so glad it’s in the 90s now but it’s a bit much still. Fortunately, I see the upper 70s within the next 10 days!
Amazing documentary ! Thanks so much for that! In end of 2019 I was traveling by car Sydney-Perth, solo girl, 2004 Ford Escape, nothing much set-up.. Before crossing the Nullarbor I went to the police station (in Ceduna), asked them if any roads were closed, they said no So I continued driving.. After 8hours driving, I saw A LOT of cars, trucks stuck at Cocklebiddy fuel station 😢 Fires were starting everywhere I had to drive back and it was the scariest moment of my life ! Couldnt have a nap because I was too scared to be stuck in a fire.. Bushfires were no jokes at that time 😢
This is why I won't have kids. I can't fathom bringing children into this kind of weather and changes being low income myself as it is. It's wild, i feel for the future generations.

@@yaddahaysmarmalite4059 it sounds extreme but I'm right there with you. People could adopt, but they just want kids so they have kids and those kids will now have to suffer. It's really sad.
@@tatsdgreat8886 If I had a child by accident, I would love the child. But I'm almost 40 and that hasn't happened and I am not having one by choice. I live in the Caribbean and the temp is pretty consistent between mid 20s in the night and low 30s in the day. When it gets to mid 30s in the summer it's so miserable, I just can't imagine 40s.
People living in these areas should consider to build the house with bricks and cements all the way to the roof and coating with white paint on external area to reflect the heat? Better make a smaller house with thicker walls and a curvy roof with high ceiling
Guys just for comparison I live in Bulgaria (Eastern Europe, above Greece), few years back we had a record of 47 degrees in the North (valley area which gets very hot in summers), in my parts of the country my termometer shows every summer 37-40 and when those months hit literally when you go out you get a migrene after 15 mins, you get dizzy and tired even in a shade so I couldn't even imagine living with 56 that is like 16 degrees MORE than what gets us in that state, global warming is absolutely here and it's scary.
Sad thing is we probably will end up forgetting 99% of the details we just learned from this because this is just a drop in the bucket of things we pay attention to in a day. We get up, work 8-12 hours a day, get tired and look for some kind of relief from our own lives and just watch another show or do something else to distract us. This makes no impact telling the average person the damage that's being done because they ultimately can't do anything about it.
@jimmyboard name one election in the United States I can vote in right now that if passed will solve human hunger and water issues. Heck name a small election with little to no actual result that is related to ending human hunger and thirst right now. Most of those organizations are volunteers who live in or move to those countries sacrificing huge chuncks of their lives including relationships with their own families to help out, would the average person do that? Volunteering might help feed homeless in my local neighborhoods but, it's not a long term solution... it's just a day out of my week I can pass out food. I'm saying there isn't a real long term thing you can commit to right now that will end hunger and thirst and that sucks.
The summer of 2021 we got recorded breaking heat of 44 Celuis in Vancouver BC. It was unbearable and I like the heat. We rarely get above 29 Celuis if that. We had people with extreme heatstroke and ambulances were so busy there was a at least a 12 hour wait for one. Scary.
Me as a farmer in the summer time, I start to work at 4/5am till 10/11, otherwise I would not be body able to work the fields, if the temperature trend continues to rise for sure I will start to work in the night.
They say the rich are responsible for hurting the planet. While other countries trash the rivers and oceans. CMON. WHY BLAME EACH OTHER, just do something to help instead of pointing fingers. Look what we all have done to our own planet.
Well said 🤷♂️! If we aren’t doing all we can to fight the problem, and fix the path of ultimate destruction we’re ALL ON, then we are just as responsible for the problem as anyone that has done damage to this point. The scientists have clearly told us what we need to do to try and slow or halt the damage (if it isn’t too late), and since more than 97% of the scientists who specialize in this field are totally in agreement, it is more than proof enough for me. Of course there will always be the 2-3% who can be bought to say otherwise, or who will subscribe to crazy conspiracy theory nonsense. The less educated certain places become (as a whole), the easier it is to convince them of almost anything. Sadly, we need only look around at much of the USA to see what the results of lower education standards do to people. If you looked at the curriculum of students for K-12 up till the early 1900’s, and compare them to those same standards & curriculum for students in k-12 now, it’s is truly a sad thing. It’s so easy to see how less educated people are so easily swayed. God help us if we don’t stop destroying this one and only planet we have. Humans advanced in unimaginable ways in under 5,000 years, but we might just be extinct and leave behind a planet that will take 100’s of thousands (or maybe even millions of years) to repair all the damage that we humans have done. Sadly, the planet can’t bring back all the many species of animals we wiped out because we didn’t care about anything but ourselves. If humans do find a way to get another chance, I sure hope we don’t do things as poorly as we did this time around! 😢😵🙄🤥🤷♂️

Controlled burning in the wet season is how the Aborigines prevented bushfires by reducing the fuel load in the dry season. They had more sense than modern governments. As for Nigeria's drought, the trick is to capture as much floodwater on the surface as possible to soak into the ground and replenish the water table. Senegal is managing this very well I believe.

I watched many documentaries on this topic, but the biggest evil seemed to be with the industrial age. The steam engine was the basis of the Industrial Revolution, which influenced the steel and textile industries. A number of factors contributed to why Britain became the nucleus of the Industrial Revolution. Here there were significant reserves of iron and coal, essential raw materials for industrialization. Also, Britain was politically stable and was the largest colonial empire, having the largest variety of subjects. It can be said that a greater volume and diversity led to an increase in the standard of living, but this for the middle class at most. The lower class continued to have many problems. Wages were low and working conditions were dangerous and often unsanitary. The cities that were constantly growing demographically also became unhealthy. With more and more people coming from rural to urban areas, the localities became overcrowded, with overburdened sewage systems and housing that was also overcrowded. This led to lack of hygiene, pollution and the spread of diseases. The British did everything possible to stop the expansion of these new technologies, a strategy that failed. In a short time, industrialization spread in Europe, mainly in France, Germany and Belgium and overseas, in the United States. The latter, became the largest industrial power at the beginning of the 20th century. I no longer count the wars that have destroyed millions of human lives and mutilated the earth as no animal has done.

A record was broken today in Palm Springs, California… 124F or 51 C with 120F days for the next week… it’s unbelievable
You're in Palm Springs, CA as well?! I just made a comment moments ago stating where I was at and how hot it's been as well as how long this heat has been lasting.
122F = 46C, so you have lived through hotter temperatures. Hot temperatures are called "summer" not global warming.
@@rngd0875 Global warming is real and it's happening... has been happening. It is mingled with all the climate changes that have been taking place.
@@jimmyboard which election should I vote in to help people with no water or food?
