I am not subscribed to the Autogefühl Chanel for nothing. The cars reviews are what it is made at the very best. Infinity might not be my favorite car but I can't skip the review. I simply can't. Great job to have Thomas and +Autogefühl team for the cars reviews in Full Screen, Full Length and Full HD.

    Beautiful car!
Fluid lines, modern design, good proportions and powerful engines!
Price is acceptable and it already has lots of equipment even it the base trim...
Infiniti cars are rare on the roads so the appearance is even stronger.
They are not interesting in the eyes of the thieves and that is one huge plus.
Moreover, "problematic" people will certainly avoid this car. ;)

The Jaguar has the same 2D logo on its front grille with cameras behind it as well, but it's ok. They won't even mention it. But for the Infiniti, it's all of a sudden a big deal worth talking about, hahahaha.

Jrv200008...I do like its interior. Love the dual screen that let's you keep the navigation screen on while fiddling with other functions. The Red Sport comes with the DBW, the 3.0 and 2.0 has conventional steering. I bought the 3.0t and I love it. And btw, I test drove the C Class coupe, Audi A5, and BMW 4 series, and in the end, I chose the Q60.

The problem with Inifiniti, it takes ownership to really understand how to use the car's tech and understand why they made the decisions they did. Many German cars are just glitz and fizzle which people tire of quickly. Infintitis are not cars that can be reviewed easily, neither can they be test driven effectively. My Q50 Hybrid Sport Tech is a serene tourer, even in busy highway traffic with all the aids turned on, and a monster with all the aids turned off. But it takes a period of time how to best use the tech to make journies effortless. It takes time to acclimatise and understand just how amazing Direct Adaptive Steering is.
I have just exchanged my Q50 Hybrid for a Q60 Red Sport. I looked at Audi. Merc and BMW in the used market and the cars look nice but dull, being so familiar on the roads. There is not much choice for low milage intelligently specced S5s or C43s. BMWs are just dire these days. I really think if reviewers were as picky about German cars as they are with Japanese cars, most of the BMW models would be absolutely panned.

Thomas delivers another great review. I wonder if Autogefuhl needs to rethink its use of the little camera on the driver's side window. That camera delivers a strange perspective that comes at a slant, and the A pillar is intrusive. Viewers probably know that the look this camera gives is not the same as what the driver sees, but this camera always delivers a look I find uncomfortable to watch.

I have been driving the same Q60 2.0t for the last seven weeks now and I can agree with most of your observations. My car is the basic Premium spec, so no Bose sound system (not so good...) and no steer-by-wire (good according to some...). I actually had the Sport variant on order, but was offered a decent enough deal by the Birmingham Infiniti center, so I could have it some two months earlier and somewhat cheaper. It is a beautiful car (mine is hagane blue, the signature red was too much in-your-face for my taste); we are not that tall family so if need be I could drive four. The sports character comes about in, well, Sport mode for both the dynamics and the steering; the Standard is good for city driving. The infotainment system is indeed somewhat illogical at places, i.e. one can acknowledge OK button in three places - the top screen, the wheel and on the steering wheel control. You get used to it, though (I had an Infiniti Q30 before the Q60 for a year, this actually was more consistent). Otherwise it is a pleasure to drive indeed. The hydraulic steering is precise, perhaps a bit heavy at low speeds but excellent for a normal drive. There are a few other bits driving me almost mad that weren't mentioned in the film (e.g manual folding mirrors, you have to switch the engine on to open the windows or listen to music, although these could be something common to keyless operation; one has to acknowledge two or three statements upon every engine startup), but I am overall very happy with the car so far.
Anyway, thanks for the excellent reviews.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  7 лет назад

good observations. Also noticed that with the mirros later. Surprised you can go without the steer-by-wire, dont think you can do that in Germany

I actually like most of the interior even today, years later. What I would change is the glossy black surface and the recessed upper screen. A mat, carbon or wood-like surface with a screen at the same level as the lower one would make it as good as it gets.
Don't like screens placed high on the cocpit. Esthetically speaking, they are beter for being closer to the line of sight. Also hate whan most comands get there in the touchscreen.
Multiple imputs are ok, for ergonomics the wheel might be better while driving (Mazda style), but touch is easier to operate in other circumstances.
So change of the central isle surface material, pushing the upper screen forward (though there might be a vetter visibility argument for recessing it, maybe?) and adding a HUD and android/apple conection would make this better to me than most modern cars.
Everything else also feels great, I like the coupe sleak form purely for aestetics and drive only myelf or with my wife 99% of rhe time, so rear seats not an issue. But also prefer a comfort-biased to a sport biased setup (if not adaptable) most of the time.
And statistically japanese cars seem to be consistently more reliable than European ones, so I would be less reluctant to get a second hand one.
I got here by chance, but might put this one on the list for next car, love what I've seen. Might be different after testing it in person though.

Another terrific review Thomas - thank you. I would have preferred the car in 'Thomas' blue as it seems a bit brash in red. Also, the interior isn't especially well thought out. For the money I would have expected something more premium. All fur and no knickers as my Mum would have said! Overall though it is not my sort of thing because I think that Audi does it better. Maybe, with all your experience and attention to detail, you should become a designer, Thomas. Thank you again. David

Alfonso Albaisa is one of the most talented designers going round today. Nissan/Renault is very lucky to have him, a loyal company man for nearly 20 years. Now unrecognisable to itself of 1989 with HQ in Hong Kong, F1 branding etc good luck to them. This Q60 series seems like a project in the making, the next generation needs to address material section. Engineering is faultless, interior seems rushed, exterior is beautifully sculptured albeit reminiscent of an A5 left in direct sunlight to melt. Quality review Thomas.

  • @djoetma
    @djoetma 7 лет назад +1

Good looking car. Looks really different from what's already out there. But I strongly agree with Thomas about those 2D-logos. A logo should be like the pride of the manufacturer, and thus needs to be formed perfectly. No matter what kind of brand, whether it's a Tata or a Ferrari. I assume there's room behind the grill, right?
About the ending of the naturally aspirated engines... It's a pity, but due to governmental regulations basically all manufacturers are forced to do this. Respect to Mazda that they are against this, but would they have done it as well if they had the presence of f.e. the VAG-brands in the European market?
Today, governmental regulations are becoming a bit more realistic (as in realizing that f.e. hybrids aren't necessarily better for the environment since a lot of people aren't even using the electrical part (Outlander PHEV as the best example)), but it's still in favor of downsizing.
The media/navigation-system being so outdated and laggy, is just not ok. I mean, the average solution is still crap, but the premium brands should do better. Volvo and BMW (the latter one for a couple of years now) are doing ok but the rest stays behind. Time to start working together with SoC-manufacturers and software-developers to make better solutions. I understand that they need to answer to norms that are more strict than those for a smart-device, but still...

Nissan dealers don't sell them here, their is only an Infinti "service point" at a Herford Nissan Dealer. They don't even have broshures on that car....the reason I ask is that I don't want to travel long ways to Hannover, Cologne or even Hamburg to test drive their cars, especially the Q 60 2door Coupé. Speaking about this Infiniti, I like it a lot. I like its fluid lines and "clean design".
Which one Subaru? They might look a bit conservative, but mechanically they're top-notch.
I visited some European car shows, and I have seated in almost every car. I think that Subaru have one of the best seats in basic trims. Outback is great multi purpose car... Renault-Nissan cars are also OK in that regard.
On the other hand, Volkswagen group have very uncomfortable and "hard" basic seats.

NemanRa I drive a Forester and indeed the seats offer really much value for the price and they are also very comfortable.

If Infinity wants to be also succesful in Europe, they need to have a more pleasant interior and more economic engines also. I prefer an Audi A 5 and especially the A 5 sportback over this Q 60.

drove the Q50 2.2t during easter.. the two should be similar cars... some impressions: leg room for driver is not enough. my knee is constantly hitting the bottom of the cockpit connected to the steeling wheel at my comfortable seat configuration of height and distance to the wheel (i am 1.79m) ; there are some design elements to the console. but overall it looks aged and frankly a bit like a video game console. not a "premium" feeling you get from a supposedly 3 series competitor; the little "box" between the console and the gear with velvet clothing is a joke.. better replace it with something else; the trunk space is enough, but still surprisingly small for a car of this size; the engine is fine... overall it recorded 6.4 l/100km...
Overall comment: nice try for a Japanese company to offer a product to compete in this segment... traindrive technology may be up there but the design language is still not quite mature enough.

He said that the Q60's interior is outdated and could be more forward like the others. Is he referring to the BMW's interior? LOL. The only one with an outstanding interior in this class is the C class. So which "others" is he talking about? Which infiniti from 10 years ago have dual screens? Also, the door handle opens just fine. It's not stuck like he pretends it to be. Please stop reviewing Japanese cars. Stick to European cars. The more I see these European biased reviews, the more I don't want to buy European cars. I'm done with caucasian reviewers. Guys, test drive your options and don't listen to these reviewers.

Please. Dont make this a country deal. Just look at this very car and then compare it to an interior e.g. of a VW Golf. The Golf is years ahead in look and feel in the interior if you compare it to this one. But that doesnt mean that Germany is better than Japan, I never said that. If you listen carefully to our reviews, you ll see that we point out the pros and cons on every car. I dont care AT ALL in which country a car is produced and I have no motivation what so ever to promote any single brand. Dont accuse us of something we dont do, that's an insult to our incredible hard work we put into this channel.

Yeech! Hideous! The committee that designed this obviously didn't get along to well.
It has no harmony to its design. It looks "cheap" both externally and especially that wretched interior.
For the price that you have to pay for this "Styled by Homer Simpson" vehicle, I would buy the infinitely better VW Arteon or VW Golf R.
How anyone, who loves cars, could approve the go-ahead for this abortion, I cannot imagine. Hopefully, Carlos Ghosn will fire the team for wasting the Group's money on this.

premium price but the interior feels like a standard nissan. The same issue with Lexus cars, they looks unique on the outside but very plain and cheap on the inside.
