In US news and current events today, Philadelphia police were caught on camera engagement in potential police harassment towards a group of Black teens waiting at a bus stop. Law enforcement reportedly found it suspicious that the youths were waiting together at a bus stop. Black Lives Matter organizations often work against this type of racial profiling by police. The students began filming police after officers detained one of the teens. 16-yearr-old Asia Wilkerson, who filmed, says the teen did nothing wrong. The Philadelphia Police Department has launched an internal investigation into the incident. Black Americans are arrested 2.5x more often than white Americans.

We don't know the full story and we haven't seen what happened before the recording of video. Don't judge, don't assume. Here, the video looks too cherrypicked and staged. Goodness knows what their friend did or what crime he had committed prior to arrest.

We investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong.
I asked the police department about this. The response I got was "We are aware of the incident, and an internal affairs investigation has already been initiated. No further information at this time." After eleven months? I doubt this investigation will ever be finalised.

I'm quite proud of the young girl who had the intelligence and balls to record the police, and not let the cop intimidate her into leaving her friend behind. She handled those cops like a professional cop watcher. I feel like she would be good at it too, in the future...

@Jim Flatwood There may not have been any video to edit. I doubt any of those kids would have thought there was a reason to turn the camera on just because a police cruiser was passing by. Video likely didn't start till the cruiser stopped and the cops approached.

The disgusting people calling themselves “officers” here are predators. Who knows how many other children have disappeared into that Philadelphia PD officers car, he was obviously enjoying unlawfully terrorizing those children. The only thing that separates these officers actions and a child predators, the officers know they can get away with it, even being filmed. Something has to change because law enforcement is out of control.
What was the outcome? This officer should be removed from the force.
I feel sick. The fact that these children are so calm in this situation speaks volumes of what they have to deal with on the daily. Gut wrenching! I would be terrified
