I was very kindly sent some beautiful rare house plants from an Indonesian company called Greenspaces.ID ! I was so excited to open them and am so happy with what I received. This was my first time importing plants from Indonesia and I was slightly nervous about it. Some of the plants have had ups and downs but on the whole they're all healthy and doing well!

You put the crowns and leaf stems too deep in the water. That is why the leaves turns yellow and that one plant rotted. I’m sure they will do great now that they have soil as long as they are not planted too deep. Good luck. I enjoyed watching your excitement over the new plants. Great idea to paint the containers. They look great.
Funny to see how rarity of plants is so dependant on what region you're from. I'm in Belgium and those alocasias are very easy to find here and fairly affordable (about 20 euros I think for a full plant?) as I'm pretty sure they are being mass produced in the Netherlands. Don't know how accessable Dutch webshops are now to the UK but that might be an option if you're on the look out for one.
So true - I always think this when I was US "rare" plant hauls!
Very true!! I am from India, and these are not that rare here🥲
If I Google websites, do I Google Dutch or Netherlands. I'm sorry to say I don't know the difference, sorry for my ignorance. Always best to learn is by asking
I think (think!) I’ve mastered ALOCASIA. When I bring them home (or unbox them), I stay farrrr away from water. Dry (or slightly moist) soil or clean dry leca. Then I Dont water until it’s acclimated. It’s worked for all 23 of my Alocasias so far. Let me know how it turns out!
Hi dear next time with the drangon scale just trim the roots and maybe clean them off, but you should pot it the same time you get it
Ok, thank you for the tip! It turned out to be the actual bulb that had rotten so I'm not sure if that would have saved it... 💚
Just discovered your channel and I love your calming energy I’m going to binge watch your videos when I do my daily plant chores ☺️
Aww thank you so much! 💚
Loved the video. Enjoyed every minute of It. I loved yo see the huge smile you had every time you unboxed a knew plant!!☘️🌱❤️🎁📦
Hehehe thank you so much!
@@TheJungleHaven Thanks to you for the amazing content! Hi from Spain ❤️🌱😘
I have to tell you the joy of long fancy nails (for me, at least)! I find that artificial nails make my real nails grow kinda straight out, giving me more space under the nail which makes it super easy to remove dirt that gets under there!
Also!!! I say go full pon :)
Ooooh ok! I'll give it a go 😆
Claire, thank you for another wonderful video. Your enthusiasm is contagious! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Keep the videos coming.
Aww thanks so much 💚
I always wanted a Dragon scale to add to my collection and never seen one locally in garden centres. Was walking home from town the other day and a small local plant shop had some sitting there outside for just ten pounds. Looks great, 5 big leaves. Hope yours gets on well too!
Ooooh amazing what a bargain! Sadly mine didn't make it - I'll have to hunt down that garden centre!
Exciting! My order from greenspaces came on Friday and they're rehabbing on my kitchen table now 😅
Oooooh how exciting! What did you get? 💚
@@TheJungleHaven I ordered a Philodendron gloriosum, a small Philodendron melanochrysum (that actually arrived really big!), an Alocasia sente variegated, a variegated burle marx, and a silver dragon Alocasia. All arrived perfectly aside from the silver dragon who lost 4/6 leaves :) definitely will order again soon (most likely using your code!)
OH my goodness. The Silver Dragon breaks my heart. I am so sorry. I got mine about a week ago and it is absolutely my favorite right now. (Probably will be for a very long time!!!) It is stunning and huge. If anyone looking for one that lives in the US, I got mine from Wal Mart on line (Costa Farms) for $44.97 free 2 day shipping and it came in a lovely cover pot with a wooden stand. Well worth it. Claire, I am so sorry! 😔
I know it's such a shame but there was really nothing I could do 😭 On the bright side the others are all doing brilliantly!
I would fore-go the pon and make some extremely chunky aroid mix and that is what I would put all of them in, but that's just me...
That's what I usually do tbh, I'm just slightly obsessed with pon right now 😂 I went with 90% pon and the rest chunky soil mix in the end!
The gloriussom is great, would love to see him in pon 😁
I decided to go with about 90% pon in the end!
Thank you for the video. I live in Japan and looking into how to export plants .
best of luck with the new arrivals, Happy St Patricks Day from across the water. :)
Thank you! ☘️
Love your videos!! So so happy for you!! 🪴🙌🥰 beautiful!! 💚🪴🙌
Thank you so much, that's really sweet 💚
Beautifully done video! Unfortunately alocasias are a no no for shipping in winter and early spring. Greenspaces seem like a trust worthy plant company, I might give them a try, but in warmer days. Keep us updated if you potted them in Pon!! Thank you ❤️
I totally agree. Such a shame it didn't make it, but I'm going to try and hunt one down more locally 💚
@@TheJungleHaven I m sure you'll find one ! They are pretty easy to come by these days!!
I don't have fancy nails or a fancy Spade either and it's just not practical with the amount of plants that we deal with all the time. So don't worry you're in good company😋
Heheheee 💚
Next , with the hole on the top , then pour.
plant mail is the best
Isn't it just!?
WOW 😮😮😮
Amazing!
I'm so happy with them! 😆
nice! im waiting on mail but got a snowdrift and jose bueno
Oooooh fingers crossed it arrives safely!
Great video !
I considered myself to pot some plants up in pure pon, but i didnt have clear pots. How can you control the water reservoir with the nursery pots?
I usually use clear pots too tbh with self watering planters. With nursery pots I tend to create a little reservoir of water at the bottom and just monitor it (when it's dried out for a few days I'll usually top it back up)
@@TheJungleHaven Thank you
I love all your new plants!! Sorry you lost one, but at least they were free. 😊 what great gifts!
I also love that glass bowl with the wood stand 😍
Your sweater is also super cute!!
Thank you! Yes such a shame about the alocasia, but the rest are doing super well 💚
Love your channel
Thank you so much!
Hello, your plants are stunning! I'd like to order on this site but I don't know if we have to add 1 plant/1 phytosanitary certificate or for example 5 plants/only 1 phytosanitary certificate? Thank you so much
Is Golden Dragon and Camouflage the same? :)
Beautiful 🪴 How long it took to arrive?
So they reached out to me, I didn't order the conventional way, but from what I've heard from other people it usually takes a few weeks!
Ahh so exciting
Eeeeeep I know right!?
I just loved your dog❤also i have a male dog...his name is chiku❤..loves your video..love from India 🇮🇳❤
Awww I'm sure Joli would love Chiku 💚
My Silver Dragon looked the same because of cold damage. I had to buy a new one. I could not safe it.
They're so sensitive, it's such a shame. I think I'll have to do the same!
Distilled water is basically acid for my human skin and wooden furnitures, idk how she can propagate in them.
Dont ever put alocasias in water. What you got is because of that. Should have instantly potted it in mix or even moss.... :C
I've actually grown alocasia fully hydroponically before and they've been absolutely fine - I think I just wasn't vigilant enough in checking for rot in the first few days 💚
iv never got free plants tho
💚🌿
What ratio do you mix your distilled water with hydrogen peroxide?
I made a video all about it telling you the different measurements for different purposes 💚:
ruclips.net/video/xNZyVV6-uKU/видео.html
Are you single ☺️
Oh Claire this video is dangerous 😂
Ahahaha 😂💚
Pon
I went with 90% pon in the end!
I think the hydrogen peroxide was what killed your alocasia☹️
It's actually meant to prevent and treat rotting so I wouldn't have thought it made things worse... Not sure... Poor plant 😭
I don't think hydrogen peroxide was a good idea when the plants are already stressed.🥺🥺
In my experience so long as you use the correct amount and don't go overboard, it simply helps to deliver a boost of oxygen to the roots - I use it all the time to help acclimate my plants! 💚
@@TheJungleHaven okay!! Thank you for letting me know! What is the measurement though?? Do you use 3% hydrogen peroxide?
First of all let say I intend no criticism but why do you put imported plants in water for so long? It is not something I would feel safe in doing unless the plants are used to water culture.
I often find that when plants arrive they can be very dehydrated, and it helps to ease them into their new environment and help them acclimate before potting them up. Using water for tropical plants that have been in transit for a while can also help them to overcome things such as cold damage faster and more effectively 💚
