Graham has recorded a number of interviews with us on all the different aspects of Rolls-Royce and we will be uploading them every Tuesday - subscribe so you don't miss out! Thank you!
You can see all of Graham's videos on the development of Rolls-Royce Crewe here, new videos will be added as they are uploaded: ruclips.net/video/zb-TxvSPTKM/видео.html
Yes, Graham started working at Rolls-Royce under Fritz, he later went on to design the Series II, III and New Silver Spirit / Spur. He was there from the beginning. Graham then went on to design the Arnage and Seraph amongst many others.
You can buy Graham's fascinating book "Inside the Rolls-Royce & Bentley Styling Department" all about Rolls-Royce and his time there from Veloce Publishing here: veloce.co.uk/store/Inside-the-Rolls-Royce-&-Bentley-Styling-Department-p141266106
With thanks for the filming location to Rookery Hall Hotel & Spa in Nantwich, Cheshire Rookery Hall was used by Rolls-Royce to test cars outside it and see if the looked the part. First built in 1816 for the wealthy William Hilton Cooke: www.handpickedhotels.co.uk/rookeryhall
Agree, they make a huge difference to modernising the look of the Rolls Royce Silver Spirit IV. Something Graham had long argued for but they never had the resources until then.
Great to hear from John, we especially like hearing from people who worked at Crewe, please feel free to write more and tell us more. It is people like you and Graham that really contribute to the history of Cr ewe and Rolls-Royce and Bentley. In fairness to Graham, our headline may be slightly misleading. Graham does only say directly about frontal testing, the other areas he does refer to but does not specifically say Rolls-Royce tested them. Thank you and let us know more?
I have heard the 5mph bumper requirements were pushed by to legislation by the insurance companies to cut down on the cost to repair minor fender benders.
Probably - it is usually a commercial decision to protect some industry that makes us all have to change the way we do things. Very Rarely to keep us safe!
You can watch all of Graham's videos about designing Rolls-Royce cars and his time at the Rolls-Royce factory in Crewe. They are all in the correct order here: ruclips.net/p/PLEAOJlP2KdqFKCLkT62dSevWVj_mRus4e
The production of the vid needs a little attention..the regular in rejections and stage right walks on and off look rather jarring. I think the designer has it about right. Thanks for the vid all the same
@@brianredmond4919 With SZ it is manual, you can push it to the side and then move it down into the grill. You can also buy a locking cover that goes over it, so that people can't pull it out and steal it. It's fixed on the earlier Silver Shadows and Wraiths.

I thought Fritz Feller, an Austrian, designed the Spirit.

The wrap round bumpers looked really good as the old setup never looked properly finished.

These are interesting interviews. Thanks!
PS What is the antenna on the roof of the Rolls ?
Yes, Graham is fascinating to hear first hand what it was like at Rolls-Royce. Lots more interviews coming so be sure to subscribe. Thank you.
It does look like an interesting antenna - well spotted. It is actually a 360 camera on a single tripod leg! Thanks.
@@W1RRP.Rolls.Royce.Podcast WOW...VERY COOL.
Sorry Graham we only did a frontal impact for SZ and SY.

What is that aerial on the roof?! Why?
It is odd looking. It's actually a 360 camera on a single pod leg! Well spotted though! Thanks
4:10 Does the Irish guy give fashion advice ?
Like the Rolls-Royce Whispers App - it is very, very exclusive - keep watching, maybe there will be a fashion video! Thanks
I what to see crash tests

Good observations, we're going for a more natural style. Graham is so good, you rarely need to interrupt him! Thanks
Was there ever an electrically operated mascot ?.
Yes, all the Goodwood cars have an electric Spirit of Ecstasy that you can control from inside the car and also set it on the key fob!
@@W1RRP.Rolls.Royce.Podcast did SZ ever have that ?. Or was it an option?.
