Threw me off at the 17:00 minute mark when I heard the background music Bourbon Moth always uses for his intros.
yea, that music comes with a resplendent beard
Same here! Made me stop and think "wait... did the video end and change?!"
I don’t feel like it was an accident. With how much he hates river tables playing that song during epoxy pours.
I thought it was a subtle hint that they were going to call him for an opinion.
same lmao
Love your work keep it up it inspires me and others
i thought jordan will be fired after the kitchen reno video.
glad that he still hanging around
Lil Bourbon Moth on the DL. Nice.
Love box joint idea. First project I ever made was a set of boards and my butt joints were not square. Rookie mistakes
Hey John if your jointer didn’t have a Guard you could’ve just moved your fence over the thickness of the wood and you would’ve been OK. Instead of having the fence all the way to the other side
Just the tip
I heard you say Yinz. Are you from Pittsburgh or there bouts?
Nice job on the cornhole boards they all look great except for one minor mistake. Cornhole boards are only 3 in in the front off the ground which means you should be using 3 inch boards not three-and-a-half
I think we need a 3 ways to build a picnic table for the patio or back yard since July 4th is coming up and we may be grilling the meats soon and need a place to eat. . .
We “may” be grilling??? Lol
Great suggestion
This is a great idea, there are so many ways to build even a 'standard' picnic table.
Definitely need this
😂 I agree. I saw some at lowes yesterday for 150 or 200$. I just want a solid frame of one and I can build the rest. I was thinking about using that composite instead of wood, that will last forever
Yeah...the Bourbon Moth music was a little distracting..I was waiting for him to pop out somewhere. I think 3 levels of outfeed/assembly table would be awesome!
Good i'm not the only one.
No your not
I actually really want this one
Jordan - Has access to $5000 table saw
Also Jordan - Uses 2x4 offcut as hammer
With the price of wood these days, you can’t waste scraps
So what you're saying is he used a $5000 table saw and a $1500 hammer. 🤣
2019 Cornhole DIY boards $50
2021 Cornhole DIY boards $500
lmfao hell yeah with this lumber price 😩😆
As far as aesthetics go, I prefer the 'beginner' board but I did enjoy watching the pro build and I can say that I was not disappointed. LEDs belong in everything. I think the only change with the beginner board I would do would be to route some channels where the stripes were, embed some LEDs and then fill it with semi opaque black resin. For bonus points, I'd add an IR sensor that triggers when anything passes through the hole to give a light show the likes of which no cornhole board has seen(at least to my knowledge).
gotta love the Pro version but guys...I didn't see a SINGLE bald eagle in this video. What gives?
Cleetus McFarland used them all up
😮🤔
If you choose someone’s idea and other people have the same idea. Whoever’s idea is chosen they should be entered into a raffle and the 3 projects should be shipped to 3 winners.
I was so happy to see Jordan's energy and confidence up this video!
Maybe a twist would be 3 levels of profit projects? Each of you doing separate builds and including the price tag and/or trying to sell them
Agreed!
Is nobody going to bring up the fact that John didn't even turn his "really expensive" led lights on at the end of the build? wtf?
He did for one second
Was that Bourbon Moth's theme song at around the 7:30 mark? Lol
yes, its "im not crying" by of men and wolves if ya were wondering
3 levels gaming tables, I'd love to see your interpretations of that.!
Looks like fun, however, I'm not too impressed with the Pro version which surprises me as I've seen John build some very nice pieces.
The tools are not the problem, the biggest foul is using 1/2" ply😂 I use 3/4" birch decks. And 1x3s are lighter and stronger. Then I round off the edges and corners with a router. I will never go back to 2x4 frames. Im not critiquing or hating. Just sharing ideas. Great content and boards. Much love from Ky 🇺🇸
Where the hell did you find straight 2x4's?!?
Stop going to Home Depot.
3 levels of cabinet builds?... to soon perhaps.
You’re behind my
Friend, that already exists hahah
excellent work on these boards boys!
Love it! Slightly above AvERAGE!
How would you attach bottle caps to a cornhole board before you epoxy the board
Ya- i wanted to that too-
You Tube it!
Jordan, Jordan, Jordan. How could you screw this up? I noticed that no bags were thrown in the direction of your board. Probably due to the fact that your board wouldn’t hold up to the weight of a bag.
One more thing: Ditch the CNC Cowboy hat. You look like you want to join the Village People. If you don’t get the reference, you’re to young to use power tools. Ask John, he’ll let you know who the VP are.
Ironically, the village people contacted me. They need a cnc guy to help with their latest show sets. And what if I told you I cnc’ed the pro board.....
@@jordanheider2662 I saw that you pushed a few keys to CNC the pro board.....surprised it didn’t burst into flames. Lol!
@@billdiehl156 it may have off camera...
without Jordan this would be .........well think about it !!!!
Finish your sentence. I’m curious
I`m calling bullshit on you building " thousands" of them.
Ok so being a retired vet i can really appreciate the USA ones. Now where can i buy them LOL
You put a lot of work into the Pro boards, unfortunately they are not pro.
I like that you used Burbonmoth Woodworkings music in the background lol. Love you dudes
Everyone's a wood worker but who sewed the bags?
Two ideas I think would be cool for three level projects. 1. Wood mallets 2. End table or Night Stands. Thanks for the great content gentlemen!
This is gonna be way overkill but here me out. River table corn hole boards
after a bunch of drunk dudes throwing semi heavy cornhole bags at a river board, i dont think epoxy will hold after a while, that is if any body lands any shots on the boards
Nothing says "pro" like making your lackey do some of the work for you 🤣
They all look great!! Such clean and beautiful work! Love the USA pro build!
Hey, I run a non-profit boxing club and would love to see 3 wood speed bag platform custom wood rounds. I have seen them done at 2 inches thick, 4 inches thick like and even like a drum. Hopefully you can hook it up. I can send you pics of my stock and a custom one a buddy of mine I served in the Corps did for me. I want to eventually put up some with our logos and have no Idea where to start, due to lack of the proper tools for doing rounds.
3 way crokinole board please
I love this 3 level series
i have liked this video as the first one LoL
Good morning,
I’m Italian and I’m building a cornhole at my house. I would like to know what finish to apply on the top to have the correct slipperiness. I have already built my cornhole entirely in laminated spruce. I just have to give the correct finish to the top.
Thank you for your availability, best regards.
Pretty fantastic work, guys!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your families! 🖖😊
Don't use 2x4's EVER!
Use 3/4 ply. They'll stay straight and are much lighter.
But hey...what would I know? I'm not a garbage RUclips creator, just a 30 year Carpenter.
Just a little bit into this. Are Jordan's legs on backwards?
My actual legs or my board’s legs?
@@jordanheider2662 meant your board’s legs lol. Just in the last scene before we go to Sam it looked like your legs might have been backwards.
Why did Jordan say cutted? at the 0:37 mark...
I’m actually laughing really hard at myself for this
On mine I installed a laminated shoot underneath to return the bags to the front with a hole and tray. Plywood is also laminated with two 1 x 1 attached angled on top to direct bags to the same tray as the shoot.
So simple and it never crossed my mind. Thanks for sharing that idea!!
I’m curious about the two boards that were set in the frame. Did you size the plywood accordingly so the entire playing surface is still the regulation 2x4? Or is the plywood 2x4 with an extra lip of and inch or so around the sides?
Since everyone is kissing butt I'll be the smart ass. I'm not sure a cornhole board can be called pro unless it comes with a built in bubble level vial on the legs end, height adjustable legs/levelers for uneven surfaces, cornhole boots for the legs and the front to protect those surfaces when playing on concrete, beer can holders on a horizontal leg brace, scoring system preferable LED built into the top of the board (magnetic strip on the high end would work for the medium build.) BTW I haven't looked at all 300+ comments but what happened to the stenciled "sports team" on the medium build? No stencil shows on the final board.
This is right up my Alley. Too bad a cornhole board would cost $800 to make right now.
Love the video and you guys. But pro boards are 100% made out of 3/4 Baltic birch plywood
This is it ^^^^ one 5x5 sheet per pair of boards 👍
YEAH! Jordan lives!
its not a difference of skills, Its the difference of wallets... 3 levels =1- broke, 2- has a job, 3- youtuber that is way overpaid...
3 levels of throwing MONEY at a simple project. How did each cost just to finish with a really pretentious overworked cornhole???
Should be using 3/4” Baltic Birch. Pine is too light (creates bounce) and standard plywood is full of voids and not enough layers.
Kinda surprised after all the time, energy and emphasis on the LED's, that you didn't turn them on with the lights off to emphasize what you created. Otherwise, pretty cool.
We don't get to see the LEDs in action? Also no cross supports for intermediate or pro boards? Good looking boards still!
"The CNC Cowboy" followed by the "Howdy" was amazing
These would be cooler if they were restricted to the same tools and materials. I know that they’d all be able to do any of the “levels” this one didn’t feel three levels at all.
OK: here is the LEGIT Review: Level 1: WRONG Screws. You used a countersink to drill the holes which is a beveled screw head and then a washer/flat/Kreg version screw=minor hold no bueno. Use regular drywall to match next time. Level 2: DUDE, oldest trick in the book: Build it, put a board on the table next to the legs, mark and cut. Unless trigonometry is your best friend, DO NOT measure: mark and cut. Level three: ok, this was pretty cool. Love the finger joints for all things as once you built the jig and it works, next to dovetails, these joints are strong enough to drive a truck on (yes you can use that idea and test it, but I stand behind the claim). For the epoxy, which, dang you, now I love to use, I have a SLICK my grandfather had from the old country (Norway). I run that across after curing at it takes off the major high spots before the 80/120/180/220 routine. Reality: Gentlemen, I (we- they YT community) very much appreciate your 3-level approach which is awesome. Thank you for contributing and all three are worthwhile (sorry if I was a little harsh with 1 and 2)
SO you can build some for me LOL. Love the input
also apparently cabinet grade birch is the prefered wood
1:34 ok smartass make em on the CNC then. :P
I made John’s on the cnc, smartass :p
Been watching for overa year and i still don't know what squirrely Means. Is it just their version of "janky" "sketchy"
Yes. It's a woodworker thing, we say squirrelly to refer to wood grain, our cross cuts, and sometimes for those who do green woodworking like myself, they use that term to refer to gnarly branches on a tree.
All of this stuff can end up squirrelly.
When he said squirrely the first time in this video; he meant the boards weren't straight, so if you sat a square against the inner corner of the build, it would be slightly off.
The second time he said it, he did mean janky; and in my opinion this usage differs from how woodworkers typically use "squirrely", usually woodworkers mean "uneven" or "suddenly and unexpectedly turny".
@@D-Vinko yeah makes sense. I just say sketchy and janky but I'm glad i can add to my dictionary of sayings As a beginner wood worker
What's the purpose of doing the logo on the 3rd board that way? Why not just paint it on there? After all that laser engraving and epoxy the end result looks like it was just painted on anyways...
Growing up in the 60s and 70s the corn hole ment something else
Probably would have been easier if you had CNC'd just a ring for the epoxy then drilled out the center.
You guys are flexing on us Poors with your nice 2x4's and plywood.
Not sure if there were enough ad breaks, you might want to consider adding another 5 or so.
4:55....His grade school math teachers would be proud!!! 21/32? seriously?
I got all my pieces cutted? I laughed out loud on that one. Like the shirt as well.
How did you remove the excess epoxy on the overspill? What’s your process for sanding the epoxy?
When the theme music towards the end of the video for the bourbon moth YT channel started playing I thought he was about to make an appearance on this channel
Any chance Jordan would care to share where he picked up his "Slightly Above Average" tee? Flippin awesome!!
its on our website, shop.johnmmalecki.com
19:06 "And by the power INvested in me..." 🤔🤣 Think you meant "vested"
If you still have the pro level boards can I buy them? Or I’ll buy new ones if you make them
CNC COWBOY MERCH
I love this series! The next one should be 3 levels of epoxy.
I’m starting to think that Sam’s mistake was intentional for the sole purpose of John’s segue.
Best feature I ever saw on a corn hole board was a built-in tape measure so you can get them the exact distance every time regardless of where you are.
who's building anything with wood right now? that crazy with wood prices.
That's why they used 2x pine for this haha
Won't bags catch on the edge a bit? Seems like you'd want a flat top for official play
Hi John I hope to get two Squirrely sticks when they are back in stock. They look so cool. Keep up the great work. Thank You
Where’s the drink and bag holder? What about audio sound play when a bag goes through hole?
8:01 YINZ! That just made me miss Pittsburgh so much.
Watching this again, I just noticed that Sam and Jordan are making the same face at the beginning of the video.
Well I need a set bad because i just started and now I’m hooked and wants some custom ones! Let me know how much?
I want a modified cornhole board. The game needs a new twist on it after all these years. 🤔
Cornhole is perfect there's no need to change it.
there is a cool version that has a thin slit behind the the round hole which counts for 5 points.
My favorite bass fisherman watching one of my favorite woodworkers. Nice!
@@fnerXVI cornhole is trash and kan jam is way more fun. lol
@@brewtalityk i have every yard game imaginable and nobody ever wants to play Kan Jam, it's trash. The top games: fowling, cornhole, bocce, bucket pong. Coming in next is giant jenga/checkers, spike ball, beersbie, ladderball, washers. Then the games nobody ever plays: Kan jam, birdie golf, kubb
Im about to build some with some left over hardwood flooring. Would it be too slick iyo.
Oddly enough, bourbon moth test3d jounts in his channel and the miter is superior lol
Nice to see that Jordan is still alive after the kitchen fiasco :D
Maybe some end tables for the living room. That would be a good project.
god Bless USA Awesome job.
Using that Bourbon Moth Woodworking music I see... hahaha
@johnmaleki you know what you call saw dust? Man glitter!
No middle cross brace? Those things are going to be trampolines....
Hi I'm Jordan and I will make oversized and undersized cornhole boards
It’d be epic if you had a video of only three levels on techniques and alternatives to each
Can't believe the word Cornhole got attached to a game. Holy frig man..
I heard some Bourbon Moth sounds, my 2 favourite channels
Could anybody tell me what sort of joint or hinge he’s using at 3:12?
19:34 I guess the led strips of the hole may be beter to start and end in the opposite side 👍🏻
