    As far as aesthetics go, I prefer the 'beginner' board but I did enjoy watching the pro build and I can say that I was not disappointed. LEDs belong in everything. I think the only change with the beginner board I would do would be to route some channels where the stripes were, embed some LEDs and then fill it with semi opaque black resin. For bonus points, I'd add an IR sensor that triggers when anything passes through the hole to give a light show the likes of which no cornhole board has seen(at least to my knowledge).

    The tools are not the problem, the biggest foul is using 1/2" ply😂 I use 3/4" birch decks. And 1x3s are lighter and stronger. Then I round off the edges and corners with a router. • @chrisimming9454
    @chrisimming9454 2 года назад

    Since everyone is kissing butt I'll be the smart ass. I'm not sure a cornhole board can be called pro unless it comes with a built in bubble level vial on the legs end, height adjustable legs/levelers for uneven surfaces, cornhole boots for the legs and the front to protect those surfaces when playing on concrete, beer can holders on a horizontal leg brace, scoring system preferable LED built into the top of the board (magnetic strip on the high end would work for the medium build.) BTW I haven't looked at all 300+ comments but what happened to the stenciled "sports team" on the medium build? No stencil shows on the final board.

  • @TheWoodFly
    @TheWoodFly 3 года назад +5

    OK: here is the LEGIT Review: Level 1: WRONG Screws. You used a countersink to drill the holes which is a beveled screw head and then a washer/flat/Kreg version screw=minor hold no bueno. Use regular drywall to match next time. Level 2: DUDE, oldest trick in the book: Build it, put a board on the table next to the legs, mark and cut. Unless trigonometry is your best friend, DO NOT measure: mark and cut. Level three: ok, this was pretty cool. Love the finger joints for all things as once you built the jig and it works, next to dovetails, these joints are strong enough to drive a truck on (yes you can use that idea and test it, but I stand behind the claim). For the epoxy, which, dang you, now I love to use, I have a SLICK my grandfather had from the old country (Norway). I run that across after curing at it takes off the major high spots before the 80/120/180/220 routine. Reality: Gentlemen, I (we- they YT community) very much appreciate your 3-level approach which is awesome. Thank you for contributing and all three are worthwhile (sorry if I was a little harsh with 1 and 2)

    • @D-Vinko
      @D-Vinko 3 года назад +1

      Yes. It's a woodworker thing, we say squirrelly to refer to wood grain, our cross cuts, and sometimes for those who do green woodworking like myself, they use that term to refer to gnarly branches on a tree.
      All of this stuff can end up squirrelly.
      When he said squirrely the first time in this video; he meant the boards weren't straight, so if you sat a square against the inner corner of the build, it would be slightly off.
      The second time he said it, he did mean janky; and in my opinion this usage differs from how woodworkers typically use "squirrely", usually woodworkers mean "uneven" or "suddenly and unexpectedly turny".
