    I had to remove the front pinion yoke on a 2019 Ford expedition max recently and found that I couldn't fit my normal tools in to beat it out and figured it was probably time to step up and do it the professional way. I Was in a time crunch so I ran to Harbor Freight instead of waiting for the tool truck to come in a week and bought this kit out of necessity. I've always hated using the simple pullers they still carry so I opted to spend the $230 hoping it wouldn't be money wasted. Never used an advanced design puller like this so I was completely blown away with how easy it made the job. Set up is incredibly easy compared to the old nuts, bolts and washers and the adjustment knob is brilliant. No struggling to match up all 3 puller arms while maintaining tension and keeping the puller straight and turn the bolt all at the same time. Just after one use I'm convinced, well worth the money.

    This is an awesome tool! I'm an electrician from South Florida that does a lot of refrigeration work, so I'm always using a puller to remove the impellers from blown motors. This will be a massive upgrade from the old set I got at auto parts.

      That's a great application. Yes, this kit is a much nicer kit than most all the auto parts stores. Thanks for watching.

    FYI, some of their stuff is straight out of the OTC catalog. Their Maddox slide puller set is IDENTICAL to the OTC version they price-compare with, right down to molding of the the plastic box. With their coupon last month it ended up being at least $30 less than the next lowest OTC version I could find online, anywhere. Like a 25% overall savings. So yeah, it pays to do some research and one can find even some of the pro/pro-sumer upper end stuff at HFT.

    Doesn't look that bad. Love my Posi-Lock pullers and OTC bearing splitter sets. I'd give it a try if I was just starting out again. Lifetime warranty!!!!

    I am not a mechanic but this looks like a really versatile tool. Is there anything it cant do besides being too big (to fit in engine) or too small (pull out of its capacity) that would make this set feel incomplete? It seems like as long as had space for operation could be used to pull any smaller one too. Thank you.

    Not that it is really needed, but did this kit come with instructions? Looks like a great kit. I had no idea Harbor Freight had a professional line, or at least professional-like line.

    It's actually a LIFETIME GUARANTEE NOT WARANTY.. Remember a Guarantee is replacement NO QUESTIONS ASKED a Warranty always has some sort of stipulations. I have only used Top of the Line Tools for the past 50+ years and I have to say that the ICON Tools have a Top of the Line feel to them. I've actually been buying a lot of them for my youngest youngin' who is 26 and started working at a shop last year. That Puller set certainly is a nice setup.

    I need to pull an ABS tone ring from my old Mitsubishi Mirage drums and this puller looks like it would do the trick but probably overkill for a DIYer like myself. I need a cheaper solution, maybe I'll rent a puller? I could see me buying this if I ran a shop, seems like a great tool at a very reasonable price! Awesome review, editing and all.

    My question is what manufature is making it and what Grade is it A+,A. B.C, D G and to put it in to perspective 70% of China and Taiwan Tools are Grad D and Gearwrench is Grade C where as Bluepoint Grey dynamic Jet and Vengeance is Grade A and to date only one uses Grade A+ and tat is Pro-Point in Canada .. and all the Maddox stuff is Grad G bottom of the barrel

    Looking at the demonstration photos on HF site I can see why someone unfamiliar with jaw pullers would set it up wrong.

    Save your money and just get posi pullers, the jaws on the icon will chip bad, been through 3 sets. Then got posi pullers.

    What the thread pitch ????

  • @Charles-lane277
    @Charles-lane277 11 месяцев назад

    Myth number 1# grease increases lifespan of threaded screw on the puller...WRONG!!!!...I can say from experience grease will not make a difference and yes I've used grease in mine,threads are going to wear out regardless and also yes harbor freight will cover the warranty regardless of weather you use grease on it or not,because they understand that tools just wear out over time from heavy use.

    Rubber gloves, bahahaha

    • @esotericjahanism5251
      @esotericjahanism5251 19 дней назад

      What's so funny about rubber gloves? All those solvents, oils, and greases soak into your skin and get into your body. That's why mechanics have an increased risk of developing Parkinson's disease. Not to mention chronic low level exposure to them can also damage your liver, lungs, kidneys and nervous system. Do you also laugh when people use safety glasses while they're cutting? Or respirators when they're spray painting?
