Tool is one of the very few artists that can back their shit up live. I've been to 7 of their concerts over the last 4 years and they never disappoint. Best shows, and band, ever!!!
Yes sir just seen them in November and hope to catch them again if they tour the US this year. Their shows are like nothing else I've ever experienced. It's like a hive of like-minded individuals who are all connected by the music. My wife has listened to tool but was never what you'd call a fan but after the concert she absolutely loves them. She sad she finally gets it.
I am a 30+ year fan of Tool. No one compares. They have each mastered their respective crafts. The best band of my lifetime. You might as well just start from the beginning, you'll be blown away. Actually go ahead and watch "Pneuma", Vic Firth cameras. #Toolforever

The music videos are source material for background images shown during their live shows. I concur with those who say you shouldn't watch the video but rather let yourself go in the music. I also think that you would enjoy starting at the beginning of their discography in some of Maynard's "angry "days music.
It's always best to do a lyric video on your first listen of a Tool song.
they are pretty good live. It sounds just like the album, but they make changes to some of the songs. I had a blast. I would compare them to Pink Floyd in many ways live and in studio.

I hate it when non-musicians react to tool. They know it sounds cool but they don't know why and they're not good at explaining it.

You were warned about the videos. They are amazing, but don't always match the meaning of the song.
Band member Adam is responsible for the video artwork, most of the time.
I think you should still take the advice not to watch the video. I know you said you wanted the full experience but the experience is just being weirded out and distracted while trying to listen to awesome lyrics and phenomenal drumming. Besides your listeners are recommending that because we don't need to see it or care about sperm eyes or fetus'. It can also shorten up your videos a bit if you're not saying anything about what you're seeing in the video. I think you could have picked up more or said more about the musicianship or what the drummer or guitarist is doing or how awesome of a singer Maynard is.
Danny Carey is considered one of the best drummers of all time. You'll definitely get more weird time signatures if you keep on the Tool journey.
Tool videos have nothing to do with the song and they aren’t Meath for new listeners to tool as they are distracting. Adam Jones makes the videos specifically for tool fans who are already familiar with the music.
Please do relations to the audio and not the videos for tool songs.
