Since this video is old, I may have commented already, but here is an updated comment. Weed B Gon does kill dandelion and clover very effectively. I doesn't kill creeping charlie, but it doesn't claim to. If I were going to apply it across the lawn, I wouldn't use a hose end sprayer because you might water it down too much. I would get the concentrate and mix it myself and add a surfactant so it sticks to the leaves. I had purchased the Scotts premixed product with the built in battery powered sprayer and noticed the product beading off the leaves of plants that had a waxy coating. a dash of surfactant (dish soap) fixed that. When applying to an entire lawn, I prefer a slightly weaker solution that I can mix myself. This lets the lawn recover, because although it won't kill the grass, the grass won't really like it. This means you would probably need a follow up for an entire lawn with some recovery time between applications. Mix slightly stronger amounts for spot spraying of individual plants. For value, I would by Fiesta. This is the stuff The Weed Man uses (even though they don't do a good job as a company). Fiesta is a concentrate like Weed B Gon Max and it is pretty much the same stuff, but you get more for your money. You need your own sprayer to get the proper droplet size. This with the surfactant helps kill weeds more effectively. I still don't get the hose end sprayer. It could work, but you'd have to be AI to be exact enough to not wash away your efforts. As a side note, for a NON SELECTIVE MEANING IT KILLS EVERYTHING weed killer for pavement cracks or if there is a plant you wish to kill and then remove, use 1/4 cup or 60ml of salt dissolved in one litre of household vinegar and add half a tablespoon of dish soap as a surfactant. This kills weeds. If a weed is mature it can take the abuse of an application, but not three hot days in a row. Most weeds will turn brown and perish quickly. I wasted money on roundup and this was more effective for a lot less money. If you have a big lawn, get big tools. A decent sprayer is a must. Buy concentrates and a hose end sprayer like Scotts so that you can deposit nutrients quickly and water them in. If it is going to rain. Fertilize. If it is going to rain, add humic acid and sea kelp. If it going to be sunny, apply weed killer. If it is going to be filthy hot, water only in the evening or morning so the sun doesn't evaporate your efforts. Fogging the lawn with weed killer and don't want to damage the grass? Do it in the last 3 hours of sunlight. Once you get a regimen and the right tools, life is way easier and the results are way better.
I sprayed every crack in our patio, sprayed every weed in the garden. It did turned a few dandelions blackish, but they kept growing and living. Didn’t kill any other weed. I’ve heard Roundup will destroy everything it touches, so will try that this fall or next spring.
It worked well on the dandelions and clover for me but didn’t do anything to other weeds . For the price of it and the coverage you get I do t think it’s worth it , fiesta is much more cost effective. 👍🏻
Hi there from Ottawa! I have been researching the very few herbicides that are available (and legal) here in Ontario. Really appreciate your review. I am thinking to try the concentrate with some Dawn dish soap. How much soap would you use? Mix it right in and give it a shake before spraying? Did you ever do a follow up review of the concentrate? Thanks :)
Yes , I did a follow up , I believe it’s on the Fiesta Vs Weed b gon video. I’d personally recommend Fiesta as you get much more for your dollar! Depending how much you are spraying I’d recommend 1 table spoon per gallon
I have had ok experience with weed bgon but I think spectricide weed stop for lawns works a lot better when it comes to over the counter type weed killers
Just bought a $40 bottle at Costco. Tried 1 application so far didn't notice much of a difference. Will try another but I think we'll probably be returning it.
Unfortunately not, fiesta did help but it took numerous applications. Being in Canada it can be tough with all the restrictions we have. I’ve thought about using vinegar but I’m not sure what it would do to the soil if I needed to overseed. I might just look into that!
Hey, I read you tried a surfactant (dish soap) with the concentrate, how did the lawn hold up? I was planning on trying to carpet spray it this year, because spot spraying with the pre-mix worked but I felt like the weeds came back a month later.
I personally never really blanket spray the lawn because you don’t get any added benefit from spraying areas that don’t have any weeds , also much cheaper to just spot spray!
Fair, I was thinking to blanket spray in case it wasn't the same weeds coming back but just baby weeds that I had missed with the spot spraying. And crab grass is easily missed. Is the iron in this the same as what's used to green up a lawn.
@@Natetdot416 awesome thanks for subscribing! You shouldn’t have to re-sod , you can also spot spray stubborn dandelions just make sure to read the label rates and how often you should apply!
I wish I would have seen this review a last week!!! I just wasted money on this thing, and I swear it didn't even finish killing half my dandelions off. I am beyond aggravated, I applied on an 80degree day which is near the high end of recommend useage so I'll just take partial blame for being impatient, but I'm never wasting a penny on this again. I'm gonna get roundup for lawns concentrate like I've done last year and keep doing what works. I'm pissed at myself for trying to save a few bucks. Luckily I only paid 12 bucks for it, all I really wasted was my time. I could be one treatment in with something effective.
Thank you for your honest review! The concentrate is a better value for sure. Plantain can be a tough weed to kill. If you lived in the states then triclopyr would be an option.. not sure if you can get that in Canada
Can’t get that here, I was happy…ish but the list it claims to kill is way wrong, but it did a good job with the dandelions and clover it did great. The concentrate version will probably work better because I can actually add a surfactant!
@@BackwoodsLawnCare Yeah a surfactant will help. Dandelions and clover are easy to kill glad at least that those are dead. Any weeds dead is better then none

Hey. Thank you so much for your review. I mostly have dandelions and clover, so should be good. :) I’ve been waiting a long time for a review like yours before deciding to take the plunge, so thank you once again. Beginner question, though: what do you do once the dandelions and clovers die? How do you remove them from the ground?
I just mowed and the disappeared after a few times but if you really want them gone you could just rake them up after they are completely black and dead
@@BackwoodsLawnCare Thank you. Yes, I was wondering if just using a rake or a de-thatching rake in particular would help. Your suggestion has helped clarify this. Thank you. :)
