I reckon this hit my algorithm since I'm a local. Welcome to our humble city. When things get back to normal, you've gotta check out the nightlife. We have one of the best small indie music venues in the country. Check out JJ's Bohemia and everywhere around it. Champy's and Uncle Larry's for food too.
I would love to see videos on the various residential neighborhoods. My daughter just moved to Chattanooga and I plan to retire there in about a year and am still trying to figure out where to live. Also, a tour of the dog friendly parks would be great.
Some of my FAVORITE places to eat in Chattanooga: Totto in Northshore has some of the best sushi Community Pie in Downtown is hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had The Hot Chocolatier in Southside is a great place to go for a sweet treat Taco Mamacita is a sister restaurant to Community Pie and their tacos are incredible If you head up to the Hixson area, Aubrey’s is some great southern comfort food It’s great to see that y’all are enjoying Chattanooga so far!! I look forward to more vlogs as you get settled in the area
Hey local here. Welcome to Chattanooga. A couple of food places that I highly recommend. Feed table and tavern. Head chef Charlie has won several award and has been featured on food network. Blue Orleans is another excellent place. Recently featured on restaurant impossible. Blue Orleans has become a awesome locally owned place. Lastly if you want a good bar/brunch spot, flying squirrel is a must try.
Fall Creek Falls and Cloudland Canyon are both utterly spectacular. A great day trip is to head to Ellijay, GA for a cup of coffee and loop back the long way on 64 so you can take in the Ocoee River. Drive through all the tunnels and W Road just for fun. Go to Pizzeria Cortile and Bread & Butter in Red Bank. Cobble a dinner with stuff from Niedlov’s, Main Street Meats and Bleu Fox Cheese Shop. I have not visited the new location-but sit at the bar at Easy Bistro, order a unique cocktail and enjoy oyster night. Spend an hour each perusing Brainerd Army Store and McKay’s Books and get a piece of cake at City Cafe afterward. Rock/Creek outfitters is (was?) locally owned and is awesome. Go to River Street Deli and let Bruce order for you. Get a chili dog at Miss Griffin’s. Buy whatever is in season at Crabtree Farms. Nice having y’all here.
I have lived in Chattanooga for 36 years. The city has come so far over the years and I'm proud to call it my home. So cool to see many of the places I love featured in this video. I would definitely suggest highlighting some more of the outdoor activities that Chattanooga and the surrounding areas have to offer. There are so many things to do here like hiking, mountain biking, camping, white water rafting, etc.
So happy for the two (well three) of you! Your house and location are both amazing! The charm of both are outstanding. What an exciting time for you. Enjoy every moment.
I remember eating a "few of those" in my life. Now, as I get older, and sit more, a moment on the lips, is a lifetime on my hips.....😊 My sons who are now 40 and 36 loved Little Debbie Cakes. They placed their choice on my grocery list every Friday morning before I went to the market. Overall I think Nutty Bars were their favorites. Thanks for that good memory. ❤
@@peacefulwife5199 Nutty Bars are good. Swiss Cake Rolls (but you have to eat them deconstructed). Star Crunch may be my favorite. Of course it’s all poison. But my husband has the metabolism and sweet tooth of a 13 year old boy, so he eats what he wants.
Chattanooga Choo Choo was in a song from the 40’s. Pardon me boys, is this the Chattanooga choo choo....Glenn Miller Band I believe? So it has always been called the “choo choo” .
Someone could do an entire RUclips channel with just the hiking we have in this area. Let alone all the kayaking and fishing, also mountain biking. Tons of craft beer no matter where you go. (We have a dog park, play wash pint, as the name sounds dog park with wash stations and craft beer.) In the summer we have free concerts down town in the evenings every Friday (night fall) and sat (river front concert series).
Native Chattanoogan here (moved to Franklin, TN two years ago). Spend a day exploring and getting to know the civil war sites around the area. So many people live in Chattanooga and fail to experience the beauty and significance of the city's civil war history. Chickamauga and Chattanooga Battlefield (the first US National Military Park), Lookout Mountain, the Medal of Honor Heritage Center and Museum, the National Cemetary, etc. are all beautiful and significant places! (BTW, the first medal of honor recipients in US History, Andrew's Raiders, are buried at the cemetary, as is the amazing Desmond T. Doss). I hope you love my hometown!
Hi Josh! Thanks so much for those history recommendations! I think we're going to have to do a whole video on the history here because there's so so much. We've only just scratched the surface and we have a lot left to learn. :)
The drone footage of Chattanooga was great and the view from Lookout Mountain was beautiful! Would love to see Christmas in Chattanooga even if it's different this year because of the lock-downs.
Love the Harry Styles playing in the background of the ice cream scene 🤩 I love about an hour and 45 mins from Chattanooga and will be visiting next week for my birthday day trip! :)
Lived in Chattanooga in 1979/80. I'm from the UK and returned to the UK many years ago. It would be nice to see the changes to the city over the years.
Just moved to Chattanooga don't have clue to what's here...just discovered you guys as you where buying your house. 💙💙Definitely going keep watching you...Kramer is beyond cute! 💙

I grew up in chattanooga. Left in 1991 ( joined the army) 30 years later we are moving back mid 2021. It's always cool coming back home! Just next time it's for good.. Very excited. Welcome to your new hometown. With a real hometown feel.
Hi Jason! Excited for y'all to be returning to this wonderful city. It's changed a lot but it's still holding on to the hometown, southern feel that makes it so special. :)
This video reminds me of when my husband and I moved to Chattanooga in 2003. We had a period of time when we had purchased a home but had not yet moved in. Our house hunting work was over so we had lots of time to do all the tourist things. Thank you for the tour and reminding me of those first wonderful days here.
We pass through Chattanooga perhaps four times a year and each time we say let’s spend a few days in town but have yet to do it. This inspires me to make it a priority. Thanks for the info and will be watching for more about this lovely city.
Welcome to our city. I just found this channel and I'm very happy to see two people who have found their way to the best city ever. I've lived in Chatt for most of my life. If I leave this city all I want is to get back to it ASAP. It's always great to see someone else fall in love with this place.
Sara! Hello from the Wilson family. Just spent the past two hours binge watching your channel. Welcome back to (almost) Georgia. So many memories of you when you were younger came flooding back. I wish you and Chris well and God bless you both. Love, Susan Wilson
Mrs. Susan! It's so good to hear from you! I love when old friends pop in the comments out here. :) Hope you all are doing well and that we see you around town sometime soon. Merry Christmas to the whole Wilson clan! :)
Just discovered your videos because I am considering retiring in Chattanooga someday. I’d love to see some of the different neighborhoods. Great videos. Very entertaining. Thank you for your efforts.
This has been one of the best videos and coverage. I would like to see more info on 1. Walkability; 2 The humidity; 3. If there are bugs, skeeters, snakes, ticks; 4. Proximity to quality healthcare; 5. Safety/Crime rate; 6. The different neighborhoods. THANK YOU!
Just found your channel and been watching! I'm 23. Born and raised in Soddy-Daisy/Hixson area. I've grown up in Chatt my whole life. So glad that see you've moved here. Welcome! I like y'all's videos and camera work. I'm glad you get to shine a cool and positive light on Chattanooga. Definitely showcase the aquarium, All Things Groovy, and the spaceship house on Signal Mountain!
Hi Ainsley! Nice to "meet" another Chattanooga local out here! Thanks so much for the recommendations. We haven't tried those spots yet but we'll definitely add them to the list. The aquarium has been on our list for a while now for sure. :)
Snoopers Rock has the best sunrise view in the state, but you have to get there super early in order to see it. The sun rises literally right in front of you over the crest of a mountain while you're overlooking the gorge, its truly something to behold. Signal point is a great trail that has a waterfall you can swim in with a steep decline if you're adventurous. Tremont Tavern and Main St Meats have the best burgers in town no question. Rembrandts and Tony's in the art district are fantastic and connected by little alley ways that look like they're straight out of Italy. Welcome to Chatt!
Thank you for all of these wonderful recommendations! We feel so incredibly welcome in this city already. :) Looking forward to trying these spots in the coming weeks!
We migrated to SE TN 15+ years ago from Ohio and though we will always be Buckeyes at heart we love our home here "in the South". We are so blessed here - precious friends to do life with and so much to do outside all year round. Mountain biking is a favorite past time of ours and we strongly recommend riding the Guild-Hardy Trail if you haven't done so already - we begin at the St. Elmo trail head parking area for the climb up. On this trail, we get to experience beautiful views, civil war history and great down hill fun - Enjoy!
I was born and raised here in Chattanooga So Happy to see your video so many things Too do in Chatt town As I call it am 72 and Seem this city grow in leaps and bounds Happy you like our town have fun
My hubby and I spent our honeymoon night in one of the train cars turned into a hotel room!!❤❤❤ Fantastic! ❤❤❤ Foodie tours and walking the whole Riverwalk would be great!! Really any adventure would be fabulous to watch since I've been in big time Quarantine!!!😊😊😊
I LOVE CHATTANOOGA! IT'S SO RELAXING, THE PEOPLE ARE PLEASANT. NOT SO BUSY. AND LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN...OMGOSH WOULD VISIT THAT PLACE ANYTIME OF THE YEAR. I LOVE IT. VERY PEACEFUL! IT'S MY FAVORITE CITY TO VISIT! GOD BLESS CHATTANOOGA 😘🙏🏽💟
My hometown!! I moved to Orlando 10 years ago & every day I wonder why I moved 😂 thank you for this! Really made me miss it and love it all over again! 😍
Just found your channel while watching vanlifers. I love your honesty about what is going on in your life. I have a long time connection to Chattanooga. My sister and her husband live up on Signal Mountain. They have both been actively involved in the theater scene and the choral group there. I love that you shared your time at the Choo Choo. In 1976 I spent the summer working at the restaurant there. I ended up there when we went to visit my sis and saw the Freedom Train at the Choo Choo. We are looking forward to a return visit! It's been too long! Enjoy your new home!!
I got to know you guys through your Korea trip videos. As a Korean I watched all of your videos about Korea and those were so much fun I didn’t notice the time passing. Last summer I moved in Chattanooga from Seoul. Wow I love this scenic city!! Thank you for these introduction video, it is very helpful for me😊 and I am going to try all of these!! Thanks for visiting South Korea and enjoy your trip there!!❤❤
Haha wasn't expecting to see my home in this video! Downtown Chattanooga is pretty great. Niedlov's is one of the best local joints, just so you know! Welcome to our city!
I lived here for 37 years. I really never thought it was a great place UNTIL I moved away a few months ago! The area really has a LOTto offer. If you need a change of scenery, you are a two hour drive to Atlanta, Knoxville, Nashville, and Birmingham. It really is a great place to visit, live, work, and raise a family.
Welcome to Chattanooga! We love our home! The Choo Choo is a proper noun so yes we don’t call it the train here. Good call on putting Drew Holcomb on for audio! Our favorite activity is to get Clumpie’s ice cream on Northshore and walk across the pedestrian bridge. Cookies and Cream is my go-to as well! You should also check out Sunset Rock, Snoopers Rock, Signal Point, Edward’s Point, Rainbow Lake, Cloudland Canyon for hikes and overlooks. Enterprise South is great for biking through the old ammunitions bunkers. Rock City for the Christmas lights are a must. This spring make your way up to Ocoee River and Hiwassee River for great rafting, kayaking, tubing, hiking, fly fishing, mountain biking. I’ve enjoyed following your videos and am excited to see you here! Happy to help with anything you need. My friends jokingly call me “the tour guide” cause I love showing off my city!
Glad you like it here my wife and I moved 8 yrs ago from Michigan and love it,don't miss the snow.Im a foodie guy and where we get visitors we take them Aretha Frankenstein's for shrimp and grits and big stack of pancakes and Champys fried chicken. We can't wait for Chattanooga Market to hopefully open back up in the spring that's something I think you two will like. Nice videos I vote for foodie stuff lol
Definetly have gotta check out first watch, mean mug, the ice cream show, pucketts, River Street Deli, Ruby Falls, and Rock City Christmas lights at night! Truly beautiful! Just some great suggestions!
Oh how cool that you all chose Chattanooga, that's our home base. You are absolutely right about East Main St. being where all of the action is for locals (and nice shout out to Cooliage Park, the walking bridge, and Lookout.) Be sure to hit up Red Bank, just up from North Shore and check out our local pizza place, Cortile, then head over to our local bakery, Bread and Butter, for coffee and sweet treat and amazing homemade artisanal breads. So glad to have more van people here!
Loved your video! I have lived in Chattanooga my entire life, and have lived in several places, but here is Soddy Daisy for the past 28 years. I would love to see videos that highlight different areas of the county. Tourists usually only hear about the Northshore (North Chattanooga to me, where my Dad grew up and Mamaw lived when I was little), downtown, and Lookout Mountain. I would suggest some videos focusing on Red Bank, Soddy Daisy, Ooltewah, and Signal Mountain. Thanks for promoting our great city!
Just found your channel and we just happen to be thinking of a move from the West coast to Chattanooga! Thank you for all the info on the area. It looks just lovely

Just stumbled on your channel. Welcome to Chattanooga! Always good to see my town through the eyes of someone new.
I'm always so torn between wanting to tell everyone how amazing it is in Chattanooga, and wanting to keep it a secret.
Keep it a secret I'm an Oregonian, the state is ruined by " new comers" I want to cry just saying it. Very sad. Mums the word. I wont tell.
totally agree. I dont want people to come and make it California. You just want people to appreciate not only the city but the people and its history.
I used to feel that way about Nashville, growing up there as a native. Keep it a secret!
@@ranchoboomerang - I'm sure the Indigenous people are "very sad" at how Oregon was ruined by Europeans.

How are things going? I’m thinking about moving there myself.
I’ve lived in Chattanooga for 16 years, and I fall more in love with it with each passing year! So happy y’all are enjoying it :)
Welcome to Chattanooga. We moved here five years ago, well just north in Soddy Daisy. We love it here.

Uncle Larry's seems to be a very popular rec so we're going to need to visit sooner rather than later! :)
would love to see hiking and nature trails , yes best hikes for sure
It is steeped in history!!
Blue Hole in Soddy, going up Signal MTN, and Cloudland Canyon stre good going places.

I can vouch for Aretha Frankenstein's. Fantastic breakfast food.
The potato hash at Aretha's is amazeballs
Unfortunately they closed
Sadly I heard it closed

Go check out Milk and Honey in the north shore
Oooo! We’ll add that to our list. Thanks DJ!
@@chrisandsara Try River Street Deli for some of the best sandwiches in town. The owner is a blast!
Taco mamacita as well !
@@chrisandsara you can also get Milk & Honey gelato at Community Pie, which you probably know.
Chattanooga Choo Choo Canine is a more dog friendly area or RiverPark on Amnicola Hwy
If your going to act like you know something you obviously don't research how to spell it. CHOO CHOO not chew chew. It is a train not tobacco
@@Sequatchiemm Yeah you didn’t even have to do all the extra thanks for the correction Adam . Did I spell everything right that time sir?
I wouldn't have to show you how to spell it if you wod have at least looked up how to spell it
Id LOVE to see more on the nature side of chattanooga!!

Keep those videos coming...I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! I used to live in Charleston, SC...and love the "Grits"....:-)
Hey there Susan! How amazing, so many wonderful connections to all the great places in Chattanooga :) Thank you, we love it so far!
Oh....and they are right about Goodman Coffee and the Bluegrass Grill for breakfast.
Welcome to Chattanooga! So happy to include you guys in our amazing community!
Rock City is awesome around Christmas
Glade you are enjoying your new life's in Chattanooga. Iv been here for over 8yrs. And I enjoy living here. Gotta try the hot chocolater.
Definetly have gotta check out first watch, mean mug, the ice cream show, pucketts, River Street Deli, Ruby Falls, and Rock City Christmas lights at night! Truly beautiful! Just some great suggestions!
My hometown! So happy to have stumbled upon your video! I’ve lived here 40+ years💙
Such a well made video.
Proud of you guys!
Thanks so much for watching!
As soon as you guys mentioned ice cream I instantly thought of Clumpies lol but here are two more spots that are very good as well.
You guys are helping me through the anxiety of relocating!
Hey Cori, glad you found us! Hard to choose, so many good things about the west coast and here in Chattanooga! Can't go wrong :)
Hey! Welcome to my home town! Just found your channel and subscribed right away.
