@Anonymous You have a point my friend! You see Africans are strange creatures who think now instead of tomorrow! That's why foreigners colonized us! We must put country before self, a concept that makes western countries great regardless of who is in power ! No need to hide your identity coz we need thinkers like you 😉

You see, with all the hate in the world, Africans must stand up and show the world that yes we can and that we are not always a basket case as portrayed by the western media! This may actually change the way black people are seen around the world. God bless Africa.

Kenyans all along this railway line will benefit. Kenya must form engineers to maintain its railway network in good condition to insure safety. i have seen in the video that at cross sections there are no barrier to prevent the public from crossing the line as a train was about to cross this can be dangerous. Congratulations to all the forces that have join hands to rehabilitate this railway line.

A good documentary from Chams Media. Always appreciated.
It looks like Kenya is going to the “default” plans. It seems like things were very well conceptualized during the formative stages of the nation Kenya. Somewhere down the lane, we lost it.
But is the revival of these meter gauge railways overtaken by time and events? Is the railway competitive in 21st century of Information Age? I see in the US a train hauling over 200 wagons/cars at a go, all loaded and fast. These trains transverse corn belts, coal mining states, and other mechanized agricultural states. Will this meter gauge railway be fully utilized or under-utilized and finally die a natural death? Only time will tell.....
At least it’s good to revive something that was once working, to continue working. Better that let things rot.

Concept is good and its a good start. Only issue is environment - yes, less trucks on road, but the train itself is now polluting nature... did anyone notice the smoke coming out of the train, thick black smoke. Why are we still using old technology, yet billions were spent to revive the track... also noted that the carriage used looked so ancient... can the govt at least, while updating or reviving these routes also take into consideration aesthetics, use of renewable technologies etc... It's like the rest of the world is moving so much forward and we are moving back..... We have seen what others are doing, why can we not build better..... I wonder?

    • @u-know-this

If time is your primary concern the fastest means is air. What you fail to see is a matatu to Nanyuki will carry 14 passengers or 29 maximum. The train can carry 1000 at a go and it is more reliable i.e A train will always reliably carry more at a better price.
Also the assumption you are making is that all people are in a hurry. Nanyuki is a major tourist destination and a lot of people will want the train for the scenery and adventure as part of their experience.
